**A Wonderful Purchase for My 85-Year-Old Mom**
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I purchased this **Medline Lightweight Foldable Transport Wheelchair** for my 85-year-old mother, and it has been one of the best investments we've made for her comfort and mobility. The first thing I noticed was how lightweight it is. I can easily fold it up, lift it into the trunk of the car, and take it with us to doctor's appointments, family gatherings, shopping trips, or simply getting out of the house. The folding mechanism is quick and simple, which makes traveling so much easier. The 12-inch rear wheels roll smoothly over sidewalks, parking lots, and indoor floors, and the handbrakes give me added confidence when we're on ramps or uneven surfaces. I never feel like I'm struggling to keep the chair under control. Most importantly, my mom says it's comfortable. The seat provides good support, and she feels secure while riding in it. Being able to get her out more often has truly improved her quality of life and given her a greater sense of independence. The wheelchair feels sturdy, well-built, and dependable without being bulky or difficult to handle. It's exactly what we needed for someone who doesn't need a full-time wheelchair but does need safe, comfortable transportation for longer outings. If you're caring for an aging parent or loved one, I highly recommend this wheelchair. It has made life easier for both my mom and me, and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again.

Great chair but has no brakes that can be set by the occupant or the caregiver.
I have a habit of ordering things without properly checking all the information surrounding the item. That was true of this wheelchair. Please allow me to explain. That said, you will notice that I have given it five stars. Why? First of all, it's well made and large and wide enough to accommodate a large male, as I weigh 225 lbs. It's light, about 25 lbs. or so and folds up easily in the trunk of my car. The issue with me is that it doesn't have any type of hand brake that can be set by the caregiver of the passenger. For instance, today when I got it out of the trunk of my car and was occupied with getting some other things organized, it started to roll away. Also, the lack of a brake that can be set means that when I enter and exit the chair, I have to hold on to the arms carefully to prevent the wheelchair from moving. Yes, it has brakes, but only those operated by the caregiver behind the chair. And they don't lock. They release their grip when the caregiver relaxes the pressure on them. If it had some type of locking mechanism, it would be better, as that would eliminate the possibility of it rolling away and also provide a more stable surface for the occupant to enter and exit. Today when I used it for the first time at the DMV, I removed the two foot rests which made it fit better in my car as well as give me more freedom to use my feet to propel me forward or backward as the occasion demanded. Please understand, I am still able to walk but I get tired, especially when waiting in line at the DMV. It was so convenient today as I used it as a walker from my car into the DMV, walked to the handicap line, then sat down in the chair and began to inch forward as the line was moving. Really worked out well. After I was finished, I stood up, used it again as a walker to go to my car then folded it into the trunk. Well worth the $169 or so I paid for it.

Great chair with limits though
I bought this chair because my mother's regular wheelchair would not fit through her bedroom door. previously, we'd used either a standing frame or a desk chair to manage the narrow door. this was much better, but some things weren't ideal for us. To help people decide on whether or not this chair would help, I'm going to explain them. First, the chair is totally unsuitable for use outdoors unless it's a very smooth flat surface or an aluminum ramp. Anything else, and the chair becomes an unstable option that can dump the occupant out, especially if they are physically weak. It didn't work to take her to and from the vehicle in this chair, as we had about 20 feet of typical grass-and-gravel driveway to navigate. Second, if the patient is weak and has no core strength, it's not going to be a stable place for them to sit and they will slide out. you'll need to use a belt to hold them safely in place. the foot rests do help, but they are not going to hold the patient very securely, so I'd definitely recommend the belt for most. You may also need small cushions to stabilize them in the chair and prevent leaning sideways, etc. (Cut pool noodles are great for that) For people who just need a chair occasionally on "bad days", this is definitely functional. I had zero concerns about the quality of the build. It folds up compactly for taking along, but there again, don't take it to the park unless it's all paved. For pushing someone to shop, it works too. It's not going to let a person move themselves, so keep that in mind too. Overall, I'd call it a great value for most caregivers and patients who need a slightly narrower chair for doorways.

Convenient
I purchased this transport chair for my dad, who has Parkinson’s disease, and overall it has been a great help. It’s lightweight, compact enough to fit easily in the trunk of my car, and very easy to assemble and fold when not in use. When we first put it together and started rolling it, we noticed a strange noise and the chair wasn’t moving as smoothly as expected. Fortunately, we quickly discovered that the brake cable was adjusted too tightly. Once we loosened it, the chair rolled perfectly. My only real complaint is that the leg supports tend to come off when taking the chair in and out of the trunk. It’s not a major issue, but it can be a little frustrating to have to reattach them almost every time. Overall, despite that minor inconvenience, this transport chair has been sturdy, practical, and easy to transport. It has made outings with my dad much easier, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a compact and travel-friendly transport chair.

During a trying time, we're finally going places
I wanted to see how well this wheelchair suited my needs before rating it. We've had the chair now for a few months and used it many times. I'm absolutely delighted with the product. I am retired, 71, and need the chair for my dear wife who suffers with vascular Parkinsonism and its attendent dementia, physical weakness, etc. What I like about the wheelchair: (1) it is lightweight. Not featherlite, but reasonably light; I can lift it into and out of the car trunk with ease. (2) It is sturdy. My sweetheart is 197 lbs but it holds up to her just fine. (3) My wife sits comfortably in it, even though she is full-figured. (4) It's super-easy to put together. The real test was doing it in the rain, adding the footrests. Yeah, I still got wet, but it was quick and easy; didn't fight me at all to get put together. (5) Small back wheels. With her dementia, I wanted wheels that would not allow her to reach and push herself somewhere she shouldn't go. (6) If my wife was writing this, she would mention the color: cobalt blue - her favorite color - which does help to not let the wheelchair feel so institutional. (7) other features: brakes that work several ways (it never dawned on me they would be important when were going down a steep ramp!). Will it last forever? No; but it is the complete package and serving us very well, and when we need a new one, the price is very reasonable and I won't feel badly about getting another one of these. My wife is worth the best and this wheelchair is worth every penny.

Love this transport wheelchair!
This transport wheelchair is perfect! I take my 94-yr old mother on many errands, shopping, doctor appointments, etc. She currently uses a walker, but she walks so slow which can take forever when you're trying to get things done in a hurry. Also, if I can't find a handicap parking spot it makes it even more difficult. I discovered this travel chair on Amazon and it's exactly what I needed to transport her to doctor's appointments and running errands. It opens and folds very easily and is smooth and easy to push as well. Lastly, the quality of this travel chair is impressive for the money. My mom says it's very comfortable, I am very happy with this purchase!

Great Transport Chair
Great transport chair. Not for a large person as it’s on the narrow side. Great and sturdy for my senior petite mom, to take her to appointments and museums. Great on smooth floors. Ok on the outside sidewalks but can be challenging if road is rocky. Easy to put together.

Highly rated, good value
I bought this for my 84 year old mother for me to get her around in. I chose this wheelchair because it had by far the most reviews of any other wheelchair, with good reviews. It came 95% assembled. The footrests were the only parts to actually install and they were as simple as line the holes with the little posts and secure the latch, and you're done. It's super light, yet still sturdy, like people have stated. It's nimble, smooth and fits through tight hallways where my mom's regular walker had issues fitting through. My mom also states that it's a comfortable ride as well.

Excellent
He purchase this for my 89 year old mother so we can take her out when needed. Chair is very sturdy but also very light. It folds up nice and small and easily fits in the trunk of the car. Because of the bigger Wheels it rolls really smooth as well.

Very good value. Rolls well.
I bought this for my father who is 180 lbs and 5'8". He says it is very comfortable and the large wheels help to make the ride smooth over small bumps. Sometimes he sits in it at home instead of the normal house furniture because he says it is so comfortable. It is very light for the size, and easy to push with someone it it. The foot rests remove, handles fold down, and sides come together about half the original width, then it easily fits in any small hatchback and probably most sedan trunks. It can be collapsed, or reassembled, in under a minute. It fits in the rear of my Toyota mini van without any need to collapse. I just put it in the back standing on the wheels, and lock the brakes. The construction is very good, but beware this is a light duty chair which I don't think can take extreme use. It doesn't go at all in gravel, sand or thick lawns. I was afraid to break it when once I tried pushing my dad across the lawn. I took my dad to a cemetery with a paved foot path that had lots of roots raising the pavement. The chair felt like it was twisting out of shape, and I am sure it would not endure a lot of this twisting. The chair is not meant for "off roading". If you stay on hard flat surfaces it is a great chair for the user and the pusher. I think it is very good value and would highly recommend if used only on flat, firm surfaces.
