a Normal house outlet of 110 to 120 Volts will work to run your pump . But if your elect go out your pump will not work.

Are you able to rotate the motor on the shaft to line up the discharge pipe and the float rod to fit the existing holes in your basin cover?

Yes I have to do that to fit in the sump hole which is a standard plastic 5 gallon bucket recessed in floor.
