I have a Pelican Kayak so I was confident in buying another Pelican product, this time a swivel fishing rod holder to add more fun and function to my kayak. The rod holder looks very well built and installation was very easy - I used a forstner bit on my drill to drill the center post hole, dropped the base into the hole, marked the four screw/nut holes and fastened it to the kayak. The nuts are the nylon centered lock style nuts and the hardware was nicely plated. The rod holder can swivel to turn by lifting a bit, turning and dropping back in the center post. There's a nice tilt ability too, with a sturdy looking knob to tighten the tilt in place.

This fits one of my poles very well but the other pole the real is in the way, the other pole is slightly shorter , the lock works great and very easy to remove my pole while in the kayak, also adjustable side to side if float fishing on one side of the kayak i do like the location of mine i use it all the time

I mounted this on my Pelican Kayak and am very pleased with it. Comes with stainless steel hardware and is very durable. The unit locks into the receiver, and has a rod locking feature which can be easliy unlocked in the event you actually get a fish on the line. The only question is how to land a big, slimy thrashing fish into a sit-in kayak! Oh well, I guess I'll worry about that in the remote chance I ever catch one!
