7 Color Professional Makeup Kit Reel F/X Halloween Costume Makeup

My preschooler wanted to be a leopard for Halloween this year. I had no idea that this kit isn't for ages under 8, however. My design was to just have her temples, some of her cheeks, and forehead covered in makeup, not the entire face, and it seems to be working out well. I'm using real highlighting powder to brighten the cheeks and the nose with a golden color that matches this kit and found copper-colored face glitter to add pizazz. Do you know how hard it was to find a Halloween makeup kit that has a black, a dark brown and a light brown? I almost had to settle for buying those colors individually, which would have cost around $30. Thankfully, this kit has those three colors and mixing the light brown with the yellow creates the perfect color that matches the rest of the costume. We've done two full makeup tests so far for some Trunk-of-Treat events. For the first, I used white makeup from a Ben Nye compact I've had for years as a base and then the makeup from this kit. I used regular makeup powder to set everything and it held up really well, except where the collar of my child's costume kept rubbing against it. For the second, I used the white makeup that came from this kit, set everything with powder, and even before we made it to the event, the makeup was rubbing off, fading and melting. I'm not sure if it's the difference between the two white's or if I used too much black and brown the second time and they didn't set properly. Temperature could have also played a role as it was uncharacteristically 80 degrees that day and the event was held outdoors. If doing lines that need staying power, I recommend using a waterproof liquid eyeliner. I used Flash Cat Eye by Infallible from L'Oreal for the leopard nose, whiskers and upper lip, and they never budged or smudged. Super easy to remove with just soap and water, too. Speaking of, this makeup kit seems to come off best with a makeup remover and then soap and water. Overall, this kit is great for Halloween; a very reasonable price point and has the colors I was looking for. The case it comes in is perfect for saving the pigments for next Halloween or for when we feel like having a face painting day in the near future.

I am using this make-up for a deer costume. The colors will work very well for my needs. I have done a practice and the stuff goes on my face well, good colors. It wiped off easily with a facial wipe. I preferred using my fingers over the small applicator. Probably because I need to do big areas of my face. No complaints about the applicator though. It was good for the small lines. I actually like this kit because it has a cover!!! Most of the Halloween make-up in stores comes in the packaging and then I guess we're just supposed to keep the packaging and sort of tape it closed again after use...? Well, this has a clear lid that you open and close. That is REALLY nice and will stay in good condition because it has that to stay together better. Thanks for a great product and fast shipping.

Colors weren't as bright or as viable on the skin as I hoped, but did well enough. The paint was also pretty dry, but after working each color up enough it got softer.

I was really excited this year to finally work on Halloween and dress up for work! I was going to be BARF from Spaceballs and oddly enough, no stores near me had brown face make up.... So I found this and ordered it. It did apply pretty easy and mixed well, but don't expect it to actually stay on.... I applied to a clean face as directed. I didnt have a 'setting powder' so just allowed it to dry, or so I thought. It literally wipes off with a dry tissue. I guess 5 stars for ease of removal. I am pretty good at not touching my face so I really didnt have a problem, but not a face paint for kids who constantly touch their face. It would be a disaster!!!

I live in a 55 + community and last evening, we put on a skit, i.e. our rendition of YMCA. I was the Indian. Of course, my Indian costume would have been worthless without makeup on my face. Wow, I have to tell you, this makeup kit was FANTASTIC. To start with, it couldn't be packaged better. It comes in a small, compact, easy-to-use plastic case. Secondly, it even has a makeup brush if you don't want to apply the makeup with your fingers. And most importantly, this stuff easily washes off of your face with soap and water. And lastly, the price could not be better. Buy this kit and you will be happy you did.

Worked good. I am a male and expected it to be dried up like my old camo hunting makeup. Lol

Ok I don't have any prior experience with Halloween makeup, but this was terrible. It smeared, never dried, rubbed off on whatever touched it. My costume plans were ruined and I went to the party without any makeup. Maybe that's what all Halloween makeup is like or I just didn't know how to apply it. But it didn't come with any instructions either. It was inexpensive, but still a total waste of money.

This makeup kit was perfect for what I needed it for. It wasn't thick but it wasn't too light. I'm not sure where people are getting at the whole waxy thing, it didn't see, waxy at all. It blended in ways I needed as well. The only downside was that I used up all the black in just one costume, but I knew that was most likely going to happen. I will be buying more in the future!
