We were a bit skeptical about having a Hive thermostat fitted as we normally used a stand alone thermostat. We were tired of coming home or from holiday to a freezing cold house so we opted for the Hive. It is the best thing we have done as it is so easy to use and set either with the remote itself or with our phones. When we are coming home we set the temperature on the Hive app on our phones and walk into a warm house. Also setting the thermostat whilst we are in and the heating only kicks in when it drops below the set temperature. One of our neighbors installed the system and it took about 1 hour. I'm sure we have saved on our energy bills so installing the Hive as been good value for money.

I got this for a rental property I have as the previous thermostat went south. Got this on recommendation form my Builder and now getting one for my own house. It is fantastic to be able to control the temp from your phone. I have heard a few people say they are hard to setup which in my experience is crap as I had internet issues while setting up and I managed to do it in about 30 minutes. Really simple (even better with a decent internet connection) people having issues must not know the basics of how networks "network". Updating this since I now have it setup in my own home. Must say that this secondary install did not go as smoothly as the first as the hub lost all connection after about 2 hours and ending up nothing working. It was a simple solution but the help section for HIVE is somewhat lacking and simple answers are hard to find and it would also help to explain how these elements talk to one another. Anyway once I had reset everything and positioned the hub into a place it could communicate with both receiver and Thermostat its now golden and working well. 2 tips. The hub does NOT need to plugged directly into your router you can either setup a wired hub via cat cable or do what I did and plug it into a wifi extender (not that the green light is connected to a network not connected to internet and HIVE servers which is really helpful!) if you have issues switch the hub off, remove batteries from thermostat, reset the receiver to pairing mode by pressing the manual override (on) button until it flashes double amber then do a factory reset n thermostat (hold menu and back button until timer reaches 0) and then plug in the hub back in this should repair everything and get you up and running. It loses a star as the help pages are very limited and simple questions are not answered, it took me an age to find how you set the receiver back to pairing mode and discovered the hub didn't need plugged directly to my router by trial and error (all guides say direct to router this is wrong as I have mine working 100% via a Wi-Fi extender). So brilliant product one its fully configured they just need better quality support pages.

Brilliant - we had it fitted and it was worth it. We tried and was a full on headache so professional fitting was the game changer. We use the free plan and love it. The app is user friendly and straightforward. I would tho recommend a strong internet connection as it takes quite a bit of it via the hub.
