My dogs love this! My one GSD is picky about her food and would not really eat regularly but as long as she had this in her food she eats every last bite! I also gave this to my mother to try on her GSD because you could barely touch him and he'd be scratching from dry skin, his fur was very corse, and he is even pickier than my GSD. He loved this as well! He's been on it for about a month now and he's like a new dog. You can pet him and he doesn't scratch any more and his fur is so much softer now. The only thing I would say if you don't stick with this exact one to just make sure the bottle says it is from wild salmon and not farmed! But this had worked miracles between my two dogs and my mom's. This is a must have if you have dogs! *UPDATE: Aug 2015* I am still using this for my dogs and my mother is as well. They still love it! I stopped buying it from here only because I found it on a different site in bulk and I need bulk.

My dog loves fish oil. She used to have a hard food with fish oil in it, but they do not make it for mature dogs (she is 9 years old). She is not a fan of her plan kibble, so I thought this would add to the flavor for her, and help with her coat. She has a grass allergy that acts up at the change of the seasons. She also has some skin dryness throughout the year. Alaskan Natural has definitely made her eager to eat her food, and she has had a shinier coat and less dryness. The irritation from her allergy on her paws as even reduced! It is the faintest of a fish smell, which is wonderful! The pump is easy to use and measure out. This could not be more convenient. And since he is 20lbs, she only needs two pumps a day, so this 32oz bottle should last us a while! I highly recommend this product!

Alaska Naturals Salmon Oil is a great product at an amazing price, much more affordable than what is available in local stores. At the two largest stores, I won't say the P-words, a comparable product comes in a 24oz bottle for the same price! Robbery! My Pug-Zu (Shih-Tzu/Pug)Oscar, loves the salmon oil and it helps to keep his skin and coat soft, and has helped immensely with his itching problem (he has allergies). The oil does have a fishy odor, but what do you expect, right? I believe this would also be a great product for finicky eaters as the odor seems to entice my dog. I can't say enough good things about this and would recommend it to anyone!

The small bottle is too small and I will end up getting the quart one this time. I have 2 dogs and they are about 65 pounds each and have the itchy skin. This seemed to help with in 3 days as I saw a nice reduction in them working on scratching so much. A table spoon each dog each day and I ran out this weekend. You should have seen the look from them that said, where's that secret sauce?!

My main reason for using salmon oil is for my dogs' skin and coats; but I also think it's important for the longer term benefits to heart, brain, and joints. A couple of years ago, I switched my dogs from the human version of Nordic Naturals fish oil and began using the easier feeding solution of salmon oil in a pump dispenser. The pump dispensers make feeding time a breeze. No measuring spoons to clean...you simply pump the number of "squirts" that are recommended for the weight of your dog(s) directly onto their food. Added plus...my dogs love the taste! This Alaskan Salmon Oil is extracted from wild Alaskan salmon and is tested for and considered safe from harmful metals and toxins. It has rosemary extract included as a natural fat preservative. There's been some concern about the use of rosemary in dog products because of the risk of seizure. Most of what I've studied seems to indicate that it is really only a concern for dogs which are already seizure-prone though. I've also used a couple of other high-quality salmon oil brands...Grizzly Salmon Oil and Alaskan Bear Treats. I notice very little difference in the three brands so I usually buy whichever brand has a 32 oz pump dispenser available on Amazon Prime for the best price. The only problem with alternating between brands is that they all have a different dosage so I have to try to remember exactly how many squirts each brand recommends. This particular brand, Alaskan Salmon Oil, recommends 1 squirt for every 10 pounds of dog weight. The amount of oil dispensed varies also depending upon the bottle that each brand uses. The Alaskan Salmon Oil and the Alaskan Bear Treats recommend dosages of significantly more oil. As a result, there is noticeably more orange fish oil swimming in their food. No complaints from my two, though. It does have a strong fishy smell; but we've grown accustomed to "fish breath." All part of doggy love. The improvement in my dogs' skin and coats is remarkable. They both have gorgeous, shiny coats and non-itchy skin. With the salmon oil added to their diets, it's very important to brush your dog once or twice a week, particularly if they're a long-haired breed. Just a quick brush will help to distribute the extra oil throughout your dog's fur.

My old lady (black lab) had dry skin patches, was shedding continually, and was scratching often. I had tried other products from our local pet store and wasn't seeing results. I found this product and decided to try it. I give her 3 squirts every morning with her dry dog food. She enjoys the taste. After about 4-5 weeks I saw a huge improvement! No more dry patches and her coat is so shiny, healthy, and soft. This product works from the inside out so don't expect results overnight. Be consistent and be patient! You will definitely see a difference. I highly recommend this product.

We’ve been using this product for over a year with our 7 year old chocolate lab. He absolutely loves having a few pumps on his kibble and his fur has definitely benefited from the salmon oil. Would recommend!

We have been using this for a few weeks now when Mackenzie has Fish kibble for dinner (her favourite). This is the third or fourth type of Salmon oil we have tried. She seems to like them all but let's not fool ourselves here, price is a definite factor. This has been easier on our pocketbook than most of the others. It seems to help keep her coat shiny and soft and keep her in good mental shape. I take Omega 3 Krill Oil soft gels every day so I guess that's the human equivalent !
