The Panasonic GX80/85 Menu System Simplified Paperback – August 1, 2016

A clear and useful guide to operation of the GX85 features. This manual presents a rational structure to the huge range of settings available to a user on this digital camera. It is a great companion to the user manual, and gets you ready to take pictures using both basic features and the more advanced techniques offered by the camera.

Very capable camera, but also extremely difficult to learn and counter-intuitive, definitely not a camera for someone looking for an easy journey, but if you want to take the time to learn your way around a camera that will get you there, this one will do the job and get you back again.Buy a book and U-Tube it; the owners manual is worthless and Luminex does not do customer or tech service!

i'm a bit disapopointed with this book. i'm one who actually reads manuals; in fact, i read both the regular and advanced for the gx85. too much of this book was just a re-hash of the manuals and not, as advertised, why and when you would want to use a particular setting. there's some of that, but not enough. i think mr. thorpe does a great job with his youtube videos, but i feel this book was put together quickly and did not deliver as explained in the description.

What a great book! It totally compliments, and enlarges on, the GX85 Advanced User Manual.I have one quibble. In the next edition put headers at the top of the pages in each section. Thus each page in the Rec Menu section would have Rec Menu at the top. That will make it a lot easier to use as a reference book..

As all information ever divulged by Mr. Thorpe, it is done so directly and in detail. Quite frankly, Panasonic should probably hire him to write their manuals. It isn't so much that the manual is so bad, it's just that Mr. Thorpe's is better, and has a lot more input from an experienced photographer. It let me hit the ground running upon receiving the camera.

This book provides a ton of information. I would have liked it to provide a bit more commentary in lay terms. Very comprehensive.

Panasonics have clear and straightforward menus to begin with, but Thorpe helps you short it out and understand what it is for. A great book. The only thing that would make it better is if you could use "search" with book. Without that it is harder find things.

I read manuals but not every one understands the manual I lent my Gx80 to a friend and got this book to help them understand the camera better, I read the book it doesn't tell you how it explains the process of the menu of the camera, it taught me so much more, its a shame David Thorpe died but his YouTube videos and books can still be seen, he is the reason I went for Micro four thirds camera's, I also own the G9 book.

This book is a slightly improved version of the Users’ Manual.I was hoping for some advices, some tips on using this camera, but there is so little of that.. so I am quite disappointed.

On aimerait toujours avoir plus d'explications et de choix expliqués, mais le livre permet de mieux cerner les menus grâce tout de même à plusieurs paramétrages issus de l'experience de l'auteur.En version kindle, on en a largement pour son argent.

In dieser Anleitung wird das Menü der Panasonic GX80 nochmal genauer exklärt. Alle Punkte im Menü werden verständlich erklärt und zusätzlich ein paar Tipps zur optimalen Verwendung gegeben. Buch ist auf englisch.
