A very good iron
I read many reviews on this iron and I think they have upgraded this model. First, the temperature dial is not that easy to move so brushing your hand on it when picking it up will not move the dial. My iron did not leak at all. I filled it to the MAX level and turned it on. It did not leak before it heated up or while it was hot. I even put the iron horizontal and there was no leaking. The steam function worked fine. The instructions were very informative with pictures. The wool setting of two dots (eco) will not steam unless the steam setting switch is also on eco. Then a smaller amount of steam is produced. It says that in the instructions. The auto off is on when the auto off red light on top of the handle is flashing. When that red light is not flashing the auto off feature is not on and the iron is working on the setting you have it on. To reactivate the iron from being off you just move the iron horizontally back and forth a couple times and it comes back on. The light that is very hard to find and see is the "Pilot" light. The one that tells you the iron is heating up. It is located on the left side bottom of the handle and it is sort of back under the center of the iron and it is a very faint orange. In order to see it you have to look for it and tip the iron a bit to see it. It is on only when the iron is heating up. The instructions say not to iron until that light goes off. This iron's spray and burst buttons worked fine. This iron steam presses very nicely on a flat wool ironing pad. I have not tried the vertical steaming because I don't have any clothes or items to vertically press. I sew and quilt and I use an iron for my sewing projects. So I use the highest cotton setting when I iron and this does great on that setting. It does glide over fabrics very well. I did not time the time it took to heat up. But I would guess it got to the cotton setting in a minute or two. It is an expensive iron but it has a lot of nice features like how the cord is attached to the iron on a pivoting ball to help the cord stay out of the way. The cord is about 7.5 feet long. The iron is not too heavy and not too light. It does have the calcium cleaner on it for easy cleaning of the iron. It pressed serious creases in fabric that was folded many times so it was 12 layers of fabric. Ironed it flat with the cotton setting and burst of steam. So far I like this iron. :)

Rowenta is the standard for irons
Love my new Rowenta! I had a different Rowenta model (now discontinued) for years and just recently started to leak. I use my iron every day under heavy usage. I do use the steam function rather than a water bottle. Any model of any brand iron will begin to leak at some point if you use the reservoir for the steam function, why, I have not clue, but they do. I do not consider my old Rowenta showing leakage as a fault of design. Again, I use my iron daily under heavy usage. I am a sewist and sew up to 12 hours a day. I am now using my old Rowenta as my household iron. When I was searching for a new iron, I did admittingly stray and tried the Oliso. My sister has had her Oliso for years, loves it and has never had any issues. So thought would give it a try as it is marketed specifically for sewists. Had it for exactly 30 days and it literally stopped working. Right in the middle of me ironing my quilt top; I set the iron on the silicone pad, it raised, I moved the top to the next section to be ironed, grabbed the iron and the feet didn't move. It had completely shut off. Unplugged it and waited quite some time, plugged it back in, nothing. Did that several times, even the next day. Nothing. Not to mention several other functions were disappointingly subpar considering the price tag. Immediately returned it. Will never stray again! Love the weight of this iron, even when the reservoir is empty. The reservoir holds quite a bit of water. I can see the water level just fine and I have to wear reading glasses when sewing. We have hard water so I do use distilled water. The soleplate glides like a skater on ice. The amount of steam is ka-pow-pow. I love the size of the steam/spray buttons. The selection dial is well-marked. I know some people have complained about the dial being easily turned while ironing. I find this confusing - you literally have to let your fingers fall from the handle and make an effort to turn the dial while ironing. I love the ball cord pivot so the backend does not fishtail from the cord being pulled. The auto-off function is nice and only takes a couple seconds to get back to temp when moving the iron to a horizontal position. And to top it off, I really like the color! There only a couple cons I can think of. The precision tip on this model is a little blunt compared to my old model. Still works great for my usage though. The indicator light to let you know the iron is warming up is a deep orange. I wish it was red or another color. During the day, it is almost impossible to see the indicator light; however, when the iron gets to temp, it makes an audible click so even if there wasn't an indicator light, the iron clicking tells you it's ready to go. I find these to be minor cons. Rowenta has been a long-standing trusted name in irons for over 100 years and for very good reason. Rowenta irons are worth every penny. I will only purchase Rowenta irons from now on. I know I sound like an infomercial but it is true. Solid name, solid iron, many years of reliable usage and great results.

I really like my Rowenta Pro Master Steam Iron but that doesn't mean it's without issues
Pros: Nice and heavy, usually good bursts of steam, nice long cord, can easily see the water level. Cons: Sometimes the burst of steam are short and weak. Lately it's been surprising me with leaks, and when that happens, the leaks are not clear water, but a brownish liquid that discolors the fabric. Also one of the reasons I chose this iron was what I thought was the ability to steam something that is hanging (vs while ironing flat). However, either I misunderstood or it is faulty because I was never able to do that. But if you experienced what I did with my last 2 irons (all three were purchased in the same year), you'd know why I like this iron overall! So I'm not sure this review will be able to help you make up your mind one way or the other! After now reading my own review, I would wonder why I didn't contact the company. But then I remember that tried doing that with the others, and I just didn't want the hassle.

Worst purchase ever!
I'm a professional dressmaker, so a good iron is essential to my livelihood. My space is limited, however, so a giant iron with a huge tank, while it would be so convenient, is out of my reach. I bought my first Rowenta iron in 2015, and used it reliably until a fall from the ironing board in 2023 killed it. So I purchased this model. It worked great for a year before it started spitting brown water on my projects, no matter how many times I cleaned the iron. Funds were tight, so I made due with a basic $20 B&D for about a year, even though I was unimpressed. Looking for a new iron last month, I read reviews and decided to purchase this, more expensive, Rowenta model. Horrible mistake! Firstly, it takes forever for heat up, but that's doable. I've had it a month, and right in the middle of prom season, this thing is leaking the whole water tank at a time from the bottom of the face plate. I no longer have the box, so I can't return it to Amazon, and Rowenta won't replace it. I have a project due in one week using silk, which can't get wet, so I'm making a mad dash to WallyWorld to purchase a Chi. I will never buy another Rowenta product as long as I live. I can't express how crap this thing is.

So far so good!
Rowenta did a great job with their packaging for environmentally conscious consumers like myself. The iron does have some weight on it, just over 3lbs, but it was still very comfortable when I used it. The weight is essential for heavier fabrics. The stainless steel Soleplate looked flawless. The iron was tested for leaking and so far No leaking whatsoever after testing it myself after filling the tank just below the MAX line. Instructions were easy to follow. I set the setting to desired setting, in my case, I was ironing 100% linen sheets. I glided the iron on the fabric and used the steam Boost button on stubborn wrinkles. It left incredible results, minimal to no wrinkles on the fabric. No leaking during or after. The iron seems of good quality overall, wish there was no plastic components, but not a deal breaker. Value for money will depend on how it performs in the next several months and years. Cleanup was easy, instructions recommend letting the iron cool completely before emptying any water left inside the tank, and store upright. I plan to test the iron for the next several months on different fabrics and update of any changes if any.

Very good iron. Even heat, the tip of the iron is hot to iron tight area around buttons. Solid brand

Walk on By…
I really wanted to love this iron. The reviews were positive, the number of steam holes impressive, and the brand has a great reputation for reliability. The included instructions are almost non-existent. I read through what was there before plugging the iron in the first time. The instructions state to avoid drips and leaks, be sure the indicator light has turned off to tell you the iron has reached the correct temperature. Indicator light? I didn't see a light. There is no diagram to show where the light is supposed to be. After searching for a while, I turned off the overhead light. Sure enough, there’s a light at the base of the handle that you can’t see when the iron is on end. So I’m not supposed to tip the iron until the light turns off, but I need to tip the iron to see if the light is off? Check. Minor inconvenience. (See photo of iron with no apparent light as sitting flat. It’s there, you just cant see it u til iron is tipped a few inches as in other photo. The temperature dial is in the depression underneath the handle, making it really hard to see what you are setting the iron for. (See photos) The dial turns very easily. I mostly work with cotton, so its easy enough to set it and forget it, right? Nope. I find that while ironing, my fingers accidentally brush the dial, changing the setting. A temperature selection that’s easier to accidentally adjust than it is to read? I can do this. Quality tool, German made. Carry on. The iron does get good and hot. And those steam holes make short work of ironing freshly laundered new fabric. And it works pretty well for pressing seams. But…I use my fingers a lot to hold things down when ironing. There’s so much steam coming out that fingers can easily burn. Turn down the steam you say? Ha. The steam has several settings. But in reality you only get off and full blast. Sometimes I get lucky and find a middle ground, but for the most part, I find myself having to coax the iron to make steam at a particular setting. Detail ironing should work pretty well with that big detail tip, right? That tip keeps catching on the edge of the fabric or unfinished seams and it scrunches up the fabric, pressing in unwanted wrinkles. I admit this is probably just a learning curve and I find it happening less and less. The spray stream works very well, but again, the shape of the handle is such that when doing detailed ironing I end up adjusting my grip for angle and control and accidentally press the spray button. Often. The good news is the spray button is so easy to activate that you have to be careful NOT to set it off. Drips and leaks: Twice now the iron just up and decided to empty the reservoir while preheating. I filled the iron, plugged it in, glanced over while it was heating up to see a puddle forming. Twice. And yes, despite the “anti-drip” system, like most other irons there is the occasional dribble. I still haven’t figured out the auto sleep feature. It starts blinking within a minute (or less) of ironing and to reset you have to turn the iron up on end. The heat up time isn’t as fast as my old Black and Decker iron. And having the iron go to sleep so quickly means a short wait for reheat after sewing a seam or two. Plug and on/off switch: This is a beef I have with many small appliances and almost all irons. AN 1800 WATT, HEAT-GENERATING APPLIANCE SHOULD HAVE A THREE-PRONG PLUG AND AN ON/OFF SWITCH. This iron is UL Listed. So I’m especially surprised at the two-prong plug. And why no on/off switch? I turn my iron off when taking short breaks for lunch, etc. The outlet I use is inconvenient to get to so I would rather be able to turn the iron off for quick breaks and only have to plug/unplug once a day. As I said at the beginning, I really wanted to like this iron. Most of the issues I’m having are ergonomic. I’m very surprised at the sloppy placement of the working parts of this tool. And the lack of instructions is bizarre. I believe in investing in quality tools, and that’s what I expected. (Maybe I expect too much?) But instead of the workhorse I thought I was buying, I got a one-trick pony that will be relegated to bulk ironing new fabric. I’ll use my 30 year old $30 iron for everything else.

¡Buena opción!
Se rompió el botón del vapor a los 3 meses de uso, reclame la garantía con el comercio y me resolvieron de inmediato cambiando el producto. Funciona bien, hace más fácil el planchado con el vapor que genera.

5* iron
Probably the best iron on the market . I love cotton bedding but it is fiendishly hard to get the creases out , this iron smooth glides over cotton and really gets deep creases out . Marvellous. I also like a heavy iron in my hand , if you are elderly , maybe this iron would be a bit sturdy for you , I know my elderly mother would say it is too heavy for her , especially if you are doing a marathon family iron . I love it and give it 5* .

Great iron.
Work without work. Steams and takes out wrinkles in clothes. Just one thing….don’t leave water in the iron.

Steam and heat settings
Excellent iron. Great amount of steam. Heats up fast. Make sure that you run the iron on the ironing board for when starting to iron after it heats up as the excess steam at the start may burn/stain your outfit. Once this is done, the iron is brilliant.
