Look forward to watching this all year long!
The average American toddler, is home to at least 25 or 30 videos, and chances are at least one of them is under the Wee Sing label. Each one of those DVDs was based on one of the songbook/CD collections, (except in my time, they all came with cassette-tapes). This particular one is based on Wee Sing Christmas Songs, my favorite. In it, it's 5 days until Christmas, and Poofer the elf finds out that the toys are so far behind, because his usually fast colleague Gusty, has fallen so far behind. It seems that nothing has helped, until he makes an impromptu visit to the Smith family, and explains the situation to their kids. One of them volunteers to come and help. The parents say that's fine, provided they can come too. So off they go. Will the kids be able to solve the problem in time? Or will Christmas be cancelled because of Gusty's clumsiness. Find out now for yourself! This is truly a great film for kids of all ages. I just bought a copy to send to my honorary nephew at Christmas. I hope he likes it as much as I do. So no matter how old you are, buy a copy of this for yourself if you don't already have one. You'll be glad you did!

Surprisingly intelligent and disturbing for a children's Christmas program!
"Gusty the Elf was Santa's helperGusty the Elf just loved to tryBut when he worked for dear old SantaGusty the Elf could only cry..."The light holiday facade hides darker undertones, ultimately realized at the film's climax, when Santa takes sole credit for giving Gusty glasses, when in fact it is human child Suzie's idea and elf Dermy's skill directly responsible for Gusty's salvation--and by extension the salvation of Christmas itself. Santa's one and only contribution is when he physically leaves the workroom to go fetch Dermy (perhaps from a locked room, stall, or dungeon to which he alone has the key?). In one of the film's more potent moments, Dermy is made to walk several paces behind Santa when entering the room.Remorseless narcissist that he is, Santa shamelessly accepts all accolades. While Suzie seems stunned into silence by the slight, Dermy repeatedly and anxiously and loudly lauds Santa (and Santa alone) for saving Gusty's eyesight--leaving one to wonder what the chilling consequences would be if Dermy did otherwise.Further indications that something is very wrong at the North Pole:* The elves' forced repetition of their names suggests a cult-like re-education.* Santa's sleigh can safely visit every Christian home on every Christmas Eve, but his elves' shared snowflake sleigh is blown hundreds or thousands of miles off course by snowy weather conditions--presumably the very conditions in which it was designed to fly (being that they are based at the North Pole and the sleigh itself is camouflaged as a snowflake). (And the storm represented in the film is not even severe enough to keep a wheelchair-bound child from venturing out to carol with his Church group, so how bad could it have been?)* Santa's usual hearty "Ho ho ho" is replaced by the effeminate cackling of a madman, which belies his jolly outward appearance and indicates undercurrents of hostility directed at the Smiths, who have invaded his meticulously controled environment.

This movie is a nostalgic, guilty pleasure for me. I was psyched to find it on DVD
I loved this movie when I was a kid, and I still watch it every year around the holidays. It was awesome to find it on DVD, and have it for family gatherings.

Terrible acting but my child still loves it
My toddler LOVES to dance to all of the songs. It might be annoying (VERY ANNOYING) to listen to them but she loves it and I'll never understand why. Its literally the worst acting and weird undertones but it lifts her spirits so I'm all for it.As long as it keeps her happy, I am happy.

Just as we remember it
Just as we remember it My 31-year-old son used to love this when he was preschooler. However he wasn’t as excited as I was to be able to get a copy of it. Said they grow up so quickly

Nice
DVD case was broke but the disc itself was fine and it was amazing to force my children to watch my childhood memories.
