We all know that the best way to learn a new language is to make friends with those who speak the language. In case, you don't have Korean friends around you whom you can ask what the words mean that can be never found in the dictionary, this book is perferct for you. The curtural aspects this book touches are also very real and insightful for overal Korean culture.

You're here because of BTS, aren't you? 😂
I won't judge you, cause I was here for the same exact thing. XD I began learning Korean in July 2018. So it's been a bit over a year now. When I 1st saw this, I figured it'd be convenient as a new fan of Kpop artists, but I wasn't sure about it as there seemed to be other books like this. However, one of my fave YouTubers (Whitneybae) whose lived in South Korea for almost 10 years recommended this and its sequel & speaks the language pretty well herseld, so I trusted her. The book is a pretty nice book! If you're fresh in the Kpop world, it has clean explanations of words commonly heard from Kpop stars, and naturally, words/phrases in Korean in general. If you're new to Kpop or studying Korean, it's not a bad buy (especially if you fit both). My only problem with it is that I feel like the few English words/phrases weren't necessary to add due to them existing outside of Kpop since forever (ex: Fan service, OST, manner hands, etc). There's not a lot of them tho, so I can't really complain. Keep in mind that this is literally meant to be a dictionary for KPOP. While you may learn Korean words written in 한글, romanized for pronunciation, and given a proper explanation, these are only 500, and are mostly related to the industry. While you can use this to practice writing Hangul characters and ultimately learn Korean words/slang, please do not expect to become anywhere near fluent with this book alone. It is convenient, it will be helpful, but you'll still need to find other sources to study the language - starting with the Hangul characters! Now, I wish you all the best with learning and exploring this music genre! 화이팅! ㅅ.ㅅ

Its a dictionary of Korean slang!
It was an interesting purchase, I bought it for my 11 year old daughter for Christmas, but I did look at it a bit. My daughter loves BTS. I thought maybe it would help her understand more of the language. Its fun, it gives you explanations of korean slang terms the kpop world uses, etc.
