Are there any reasons why this does not have image stabilization?

Because it’s a $299 lens. Besides, you hardly need IS with a 16mm lens, plus you have in body stabilization.

Thinking this might be a nice replacement for my ef mount rokinon 14mm for milky way shots. can i request early buyers post some shots here?

Totally agree! I purchased it for that very reason. My Rokinon 10mm doesn’t even work on my Canon r5. Even with the ef to r5 adapter. Hoping this will be a good replacement.

Will this work on a Cannon 60D?

No. RF series lenses are only compatible with EOS R Series mirrorless camera bodies.

RF lenses are for Canon mirrorless cameras only. The 50D is a DSLR camera. RF lenses will not fit.
