Great introduction to single blade and brush shaving.
Great introduction to single blade and brush shaving. Smells nice. I like the orange scented soap and cream. The razor handle rusted out after about a year, but the brush is durable. For 15 bucks you wouldn't expect it to last forever. I found that I prefer to use a much larger bowl for the shaving soap to contain the lather. Good Stuff.

Good value
People say that the bowl is small, but I found it to be more than adequate. As far as the razor, it seems solid. I dried it off inside after shaving because I don't want it to rust and I recommend everyone else does, as well. The soap scents smell good, although the "Sweet Orange" is less masculine than the "Sandlewood". I agree with another reviewer that they don't lather well, but you can probably use a lot more to create more lather. One thing I found strange was the instructions. Neither the shaving cream nor the shaving soap instruct you to use the bowl or brush, which leaves you wondering what was the purpose of the bowl and brush lol. The instructions say to wet your face and the soap, then rub the soap on your face. I didn't do that. What I did, instead, was to soak the brush in hot water for a few minutes, then rub it against the soap to "load it up" with soap, then rub the brush against the bowl in circles to create the lather. The only downside to this is that the water from the soap will leave a bit of a mess so, if you're going this route, keep two bowls near you - one to hold the soap and one to create the lather. If you buy soap in the future, buy one that comes in a jar so you don't have to have two bowls around. The only thing that would've made this better is to have a stand, but I can't complain. For the price you pay, you can't beat this, and a stand ain't that expensive, either. Overall, I highly recommend this kit.

Great Lather, Decent Smell
I love sandalwood, and I'm constantly on the lookout for great sandalwood-smelling shave soaps. This is not one of them. It's not awful by any means, just not what I expected. Having said that, it lathers better than I thought it would. I got a good shave out of it, and really, that's the point of shaving. As for the rest of the set, the brush works well, but the bowl is too small to lather in. Fortunately, I have other bowls, so no big deal.

Great purchase. Boyfriend loves it
Boyfriend loves this. He uses it everytime he shaves, which is about every 2-3 days. It’s been well over a month since I bought this and we haven’t noticed any issues with the bristles coming out of the brush. He likes the soap it came with but prefers to use shaving cream from the can and then whips it in the bowl. He loves the razor as well, it gives him a close shave which he prefers. Great gift for men who love their beards, or shave their heads often like mine does

Decent entry point or "starter pack" but not for experienced wetshavers
Experienced wet shaver here. My current set up is a Merkur Futur adjustable with Astra Greens. Hopefully that provides some credibility for what follows. TLDR: Overall 3 stars. Passable setup, great for entry level users, not a bargain for anyone with experience. This is a great "gateway" or "taster" for anyone trying out wetshaving. Unfortunately, due to quality of each separate good they will struggle a little bit more than if more research was done, but it's not unusable. Think of it like buying a Wal-Mart brand tape measure: it will still work for a project, but it will feel clunky to a professional. Razor: 4/10. Mild razor with butterfly opening. Cheap finish that degrades quickly. This is not a lifetime razor, but that's expected with the price. I could see this lasting 3 years if well cared for, which is a good value, much like "a good pair of Converse sneakers". Bowl: 8/10. Perfect for small batches. Lightweight, and storable. I wouldn't use it for head shaving (not enough lather), but holds/builds enough for a single pass face shave. Head shavers: get a mug! Brush: 2/10. Here's where they fall down the most on quality. Brush sheds 10% of bristles for the first 10 uses. Either the knot isn't secured well enough (not tightly tied) or poor adhesive (likely culprit). I wouldn't count on using this longer than 6 months to a year. Cream: 2/10. Laughable how small "1 ounce" looks once you get it. I suppose it's not bad, but only works for 2-3 shaves, especially with the learning curve. Soaps: 5/10. Meh. They lather, and the scent is inoffensive, if extremely mild. No cushion, but not overly thirsty while building lather. For reference: 1/10 would be harsh dishsoap, and 8/10 would be Stirling and 10/10 Mitchell's Wool Fat. However, they are perfect for an entry level because they WILL build and hold lather with proper technique after new users watch a tutorial. If the person using these has trouble, I recommend comparing to same technique using Suave conditioner (smooth, will lather) and these soaps to diagnose their technique/blades vs the soaps. Overall value: good, but not great, for the money. Pay less, get less, and that's fair.

Best Shave I’ve Had – Completely Got Rid of Razor Bumps
I struggle with razor bumps, and this shaving set has made a huge difference. The shaving soap and cream create a thick, slick lather that lets the razor glide smoothly, and since I started using it, my razor bumps have basically disappeared. The included bowl and brush make it easy to work up a good lather, and the whole setup feels a lot more comfortable on my skin than regular canned shaving cream. On top of that, it’s a nice-looking set and would make a great gift. For anyone dealing with irritation and razor bumps, this has been a game changer for me.

Good stuff so far…
I’ve only used the cream in the tube not the pucks yet. I used my original bowl for the cream. The pucks that come with this are tiny, as also the bowl that is included. It’ll be an exact fit for the two. Never had any intention to use the bowl that comes with the bundle, but I don’t see how I can get an effective lather with my bigger standard size bowl. So I’ll have to use the included one. **Hopefully I’ll remember to do an update at a later time after I use the soap, just ran out of the cream this morning ** ***UPDATE*** Started using the actual soap puck within the last couple weeks and man lemme tell ya! I’d be hard pressed to choose a different brand. Sure, I worried like to see better sized pucks for the standard size bowls, but I haven’t experienced a good amount of lather from a low costing shaving soap in quite some time. This is worth every bit of the price you pay and so much more. Five stars for this item. Buy it!

Husband loves it!
This turned out to be a nice treat for my husband, he says it’s a good quality set that applies well and smells good. Very refreshing for after a trim or shave. Leaves skin feeling smooth. Highly recommend.

Hubby loves it!
Excellent value at under £13.00 and it would make a lovely gift. It’s nicely presented and the soaps and cream are good quality products, both producing excellent lather. The bowl is big enough to fit the soaps and lather up the brush after setting it with hot water. It keeps the soap secure, avoids slippery hands and it’s an ideal size for holding. It would be nice if it came with a travel case, but I’d expect to pay more if it did. My husband is using the Sweet Orange soap and it does smell nice and leaves the skin soft afterwards. He normally uses gel or foam but he says he’s sticking to the soaps now. I thought the brush was a little harsh but my husband thinks it’s spot on for men’s shaving. There’s no sign of bristle loss so far, and he tugged at it well to remove and loose bristles before first use. He also said it feels god in his hand. He did try the cream too, it’s super creamy with a neutral smell. He prefers the soaps but the cream is excellent too. He hasn’t experienced any sensitivity to the soap or cream.

A Perfect Shaving Gift Set
I love the scent of the shaving soaps included in this set. You get two round bars of Sandalwood and Sweet Orange, plus a lovely Sweet Orange tube of soap for use on the go. The brush has superbly soft bristles, and plenty of them, to create a nice lather. The double-walled bowl can be used for hot water to dip the brush into, or, as my husband uses it, to put the soap into to lather it up. My husband was delighted to receive this gift set and has ditched his old, much loved brush in favour of this new one. He likes the scent of the soaps which is not too strong and doesn't interfere with his aftershave scent. The soaps don't really lather up as much as he is used to, but they still do a very good job for a close shave and leave his skin soft and moisturised.

Good, quality product :) I've only used the tray and cream which it's nice but I haven't used the soaps yet.

Great shaving set
A great set which includes a four pack of beard soap, a tube of shaving cream, a bowl and a brush. The items smell lovely and come nicely packaged. My husband says they are lovely to use leaving his skin soft and nice smelling and would gladly use these products again.
