My Maytag electric dryer stopped heating during the drying cycle. The machine powered on, the drum would spin but no heat. After watching all 3 relevant YouTube videos on the subject and receiving $150 quotes from local repairmen, I decided I'd take a shot at it myself. Changing a heating element or thermal fuse or any of the other components in the kit is fairly straightforward, and I would suggest replacing everything that the kit provides.I can't speak to the longevity or quality of the parts just yet, but it's a great start. I would recommend this to anyone who has a dryer that won't get hot.

Ordered this kit in April 2026 to be installed in a 2005 Whirpool Commercial Dryer whose heating element had gone bad. This kit had four thermostats, one thermal fuse and one heating element assembly. Since this kit had more than just the new heating element, I installed 3 of the 4 new thermostats (my dryer only has three thermostats), the thermal fuse in addition to the heating element. I had to adjust the wire connectors on the dryer to be a little tighter on the new thermostat prongs but that was not really an issue at all. All items in the kit fit fine into the different slots/holding locations. The dryer worked great drying several loads of clothes after this. Again, this kit worked on a 21-year-old dryer.

I’m fair in the fact that I always give a seller a chance to fix it.This item had the highest reviews on Amazon for the part I needed to fix an old dryer. The dryer had the original element with the top coils burnt and it still ran with low heat.I followed the instructions even though I’ve done it many times. I used the new thermostat and heating element from the kit.Within 5 days of installation and use the element burnt out and the dryer was without heat. The original element lasted years on half heat and within a week of installing an aftermarket element and thermostat I’m now completely without heat in a dryer. My wife now instead of drying clothes twice as long can’t at all and must take them to family.I’m getting a replacement part because I know in sales there is defective parts in a run. Hopefully the new replacement is great like the reviews and I will update the review.

Excellent deal on every temperature-related part I could possibly need on my Whirlpool dryer....new heating element looks better quality than original...problem turned out to be the little white plastic "fuse" on ours, all other parts, including original heating element, still good, so I'd say this kit is a lifetime supply of everything I'd ever need, all for $25...a good insurance policy on VERY EASY replacement jobs....all I needed was a #2 Philips screwdriver tip to remove 2 lint screen screws up top, and a 1/4" nut driver tip on my electric screwdriver for EVERYTHING else. BUT I'm really glad I followed one video's advice and removed my lint chute BEFORE replacing ANY parts....the bottom of the lint chute, down where this fuse is, was 90% clogged with lint and sand, preventing air flow right at the blower, suffocating the dryer, so every new part you install would burn out again. Don't be intimidated about removing the sheet metal chute to clean it out, preferably with a ShopVac, it's EASY !P.S. Since the little white fuse that went bad on ours is so cheap, I ordered a 3-pack the next day....but keeping the lint chute clear will prevent ever needing any of them.

Says it's the right part for my dryer, however, I had to make some adjustments. Did end up making it work, and it did fix my dryer. Had to break a plastic protector piece to make it fit.
