Good quality British cacao supplement
It's hard to get cacao supplements in the UK, and if you do, it's hard to trust what's in them. I trust this company, having done a deep dive into their structure and ethos. These cocoa flavanols are 200 mg per tablet, which is a good dose. It's the minimum dose shown to have brain-boosting effects, and to do this, you do have to take it consistently for the maximum effect. If you take a one-off tab, you certainly will increase blood flow. If you have low body fat, you'll likely notice your veins slightly fuller after about an hour. Cacao flavanols (the main plant chemicals in chocolate) seem to last for about 2 to 6 hours. I would take a couple or three of these pills on the day I write. Cacao has been shown to increase things like memory, attention span, and word fluency. Perfect for a writer. The tablets are small and don't smell of anything. I'd take them alongside a chunk of dark chocolate to help absorption. I know that seems like defeating the purpose of taking a pill, but it doesn't really. You'd need lots of dark chocolate to get the same levels of flavanol in a pill. The chunk of simultaneous dark chocolate adds some fat, which helps absorption, but it has a mix of other cocoa chemicals that also do the same. Sometimes pill versions don't have all of these. Pricey, slightly, but good. Ignore the reviews from those who say they don't work. They don't understand the research, or indeed the true benefit of these.

Easy to swallow lozenge shaped tablets.
They have a good “Best Before” date, mine being around a year from the time of purchase. The days of the week are on the reverse side of each blister pack. It is impossible to say whether they help with eye issues or not but I haven’t had any ill effects from taking them. Worth trying. Recommended.
