works how it should it's an original Makita part that fits the blower. helps concentrate where you want to blow the air. you also need it for the wide adapter if you get that piece

Must have accessory for Makita blower
Must have accessory for Makita DUB184Z 18V LXT Brushless Cordless Variable Speed Turbo Blower. Allows for closer distance from ground without having to bend over or crouch. Should be offered with blower, not as a separate purchase. Very happy with purchase.

1st adapter pipe to buy for Makita XBU03
This is the 1st part you need to then attach a flat nozzle or another staight tube extension. I bought this adapter then bought the flat nozzle. Not super impressed with the flat nozzle that I actually got from Home Depot. It was an actual Makita brand attachment for the flat nozzle but not finding it adds any addition over using the above adapter pipe. I may get the straight tube to add and try next, but I am unsure of what the benefits would be for that as well? Closer to the ground I guess if you are a taller guy or gal. At average height I found the extension adapter tube seems to be all I need at this point. Also, like some reviewers have commented is the need for these added accessories to just come with the blower right out of the box. Always check which one fits your model of blower. I have ordered ones that didn't fit and had to return. Mine is the XBU03 model with one 18 volt battery.
