Great kitty food - quality and taste [apparently :-) ]
Our kitty loves this! Fussie Cat is always a great choice for nutrition and kitty appeal.

High quality chicken our fussie cat loves
My husband and I have four male cats and one female. The female is indeed a "fussie cat." In her defense, even though I'm careful what I feed all our cats, she has had periodic digestive inflammation, so that may be a factor in her fussiness. Whatever the case, she would never pull up her delicate little nose at this cat food. She LOVES this chicken. When you open the can it looks like human-grade chicken: shreds of high quality white meat in a bit of broth that looks (and smells) quite appetizing (unlike a lot of canned cat food which looks and smells pretty awful). Our other cats will happily eat it too, if I let them. I periodically buy it by the case.

GREAT QUALITY FOOD, BUT A BIT PRICEY.
In addition to personal cats, we feed this to foster cats as well. I love that there is no carrageenan and it is reported to be made in a human-grade factory (where food is balanced for a cat's diet, but must meet certain standards). This food is more universally accepted by many cats. I have one foster kitty with a finicky stomach (who was seen by a vet for this), and other foods, such as limited ingredient diets, did not help. When I switched her to this food, the vomiting went down radically and and a slight belly bloat went away. This cat food is working great for us, but it is not marketed as a limited ingredient diet nor as a diet designed for sensitive tummies. If your cat has digestive issues, consult with a vet before making changes. For quality, I give this five stars; but it loses a star due to price. It is a bit pricey and I feel they should offer this food in larger cans for some price savings, like a similar food we also buy in the same class of pet foods. We pay for most of the foster kitties' support from our own pockets due to insufficient donations, so I reached out to Fussie Cat to see if they might offer discounts for rescue animals but had no luck.

worth the price for a whole case!
I have never seen this cat food in a store, but it had so many great reviews on Amazon that I bought an entire case. (I do have one cat who will eat anything, so I figured I could feed it to her if none of the others liked it.) I lucked out because ALL of my cats like this -- including the two who are reluctant to eat many/most other wet foods. You can see real shreds of chicken in this and can identify little pieces of vegetable. I'm not completely sold on feeding vegetables to cats, but they make up such a small part of the overall content of any one can of this that it doesn't seem like a big deal. There's a bit of an odor to this, but nothing worse than any other wet cat food (and considerably better than some!). One of my cats will eat an entire can of this but leave all the vegetable pieces, but cats are funny like that. (I let other cats clean his plate so nothing gets wasted.) I did not see the ingredients listed on the product page, so I went to the Fussie Cat website. I am pleased to report that this food contains chicken and chicken broth (and no weird meat byproducts). There are a few thickeners. Brown rice is the only grain (so no wheat or corn) and there's also no soy. This would probably not be good for a cat with inflammatory bowel disease (because of the chicken and rice), but I love that it's formulated for cats with urinary tract problems. I have a cat with lower urinary tract disease and he has resisted all attempts to feed wet food -- until Fussie Cat. He is super interested in this stuff, even when he's just eaten and shouldn't be hungry. Anyway, this is a big hit with the cats and it has high-quality ingredients. I recently bought a second case.

bad cases June 2024
I have bought this cat food for several years. I recently ran out of the Tuna with chicken and got my new case of that flavor plus a case of the premium chicken in gravy. As soon as I started using either of the new cases of food, my one cat vomits immediately- today it was right by her food bowl and my other cat gets diarrhea and gets it all over her rear. Her poor little anus looks swollen and puffy. I thought it was first the just the chicken, so switched to the tuna and chicken, but it seems to be both cases. There are no laws or regulations on pet food as it's considered "pet feed". Look it up. My last 2 cats were poisoned by Friskies. I'm sending these cases back and getting a new canned food as I can't put my cats thru this horrible GI upset. The food was produced in Oct 2023.

Solved our stomach issues!
My cat was having issues with his previous food (Natural Balance Salmon Flavor) and was constantly having diarrhea. In fact, we started him on the Natural Balance because of its positive reviews when we first got him (at 10 weeks old) and he ALWAYS had diarrhea. It was terrible. I went to our local pet store (not a big chain store) and told them about our situation. The knowledgeable owner was surprised that our little boy was having problems with Natural Balance, but recommended this product. It completely changed our kitty and now he is having solid stools which makes his mom and dad so happy! Also, he purrs like crazy when I pull this out of the cabinet and gobbles it up. Its looks like good quality and smells great. In fact, it smells just like the chicken soup my grandmother use to make me! I highly recommend this product!

I buy it for low ash but 2 male cats eat this inconsistently
I have 2 boy cats who insist on this canned food. They love the gravy but eat around carrots, peas ( a previous cat used frozen peas for kitchen soccer) and potato chunks. Cats are carnivores and cannot be made into vegans. However, the food is low ash and for one boy who has had 2 different types of bladder stones, this is important. That said, the boys occasionally eat sparingly (so food is wasted) and pilfer food from the chicken and beef liver pate the 2 female cats prefer. I'm not sure if this is processing (something a little off about the can) or how it's handled in shipping (overheated?) Anyway, the boys insist on it but occasionally turn up their noses at it , even though all avidly and consistently eat the Fancy feast. If you can find this locally that would at least eliminate the possible overheating while shipping. If I didn't have one boy with a history of bladder stones I might not spend the money on this food. Some of the hypoallergenic vet prescription food I have had to use with allergic cats is made with peas or potatoes (mixed in dry food and so not seen as yucky) - this food might make it harder to find an alternative food if you cats should become allergic. I am thinking of the gravy components (which the boys love) since I think the cats get very little if any of the veggies.

The liver sells it
This review is for: Fussie Cat Super Premium Chicken & Liver In Pumpkin Soup Two of our cats would only eat this flavor through 5 or 6 cases. One time I accidently got "Chicken in Pumpkin soup", without liver. And they wouldn't eat it.
