Great for DIY Natural Deodorant
I bought this to make my own natural deodorant, and it worked exactly as expected. The powder is very fine, mixed easily with the other ingredients, and didn’t have any noticeable odor or impurities. A little goes a long way, so the bag should last quite a while. If you’re looking for magnesium hydroxide for homemade deodorant or other DIY personal care products, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a try. Overall, I’m very happy with the quality and would purchase it again. That kind of review is specific about how you used the product without making claims you can’t verify, which is generally a good approach for building a strong reviewer profile.

Super healthy, reduce body acidity, great quality and price. Make your own Magnesium Bicarbonate with this!
I like many have read the amazing health benefits of consuming Magnesium, specifically Magnesium Bicarbonate (Google it). You can buy premixed supplements or buy straight Mmagnesium Bicarbonate but you'll be paying significantly more. If you're a wise consumer, you'll buy this Magnesium Hydroxide and easily make your own Magnesium Bicarbonate at home. Why? It detoxifies you, oxygenates your blood and brings PH balance. This is basically a strong electrolyte, minerals needed for proper hydration. The product itself seems top quality and very pure. You get a lot for the money and will last for a very long time. All supplements are suggested to be taken in powder form vs pills. All Pure Balks products seem top quality and some of the best deals to be found. How to make Magnesium Bicarbonate Concentrate: 1. Get 1 liter of regular Seltzer Water (refrigerated) 2. Weigh out 3.6 grams of Magnesium Hydroxide. (About 1 teaspoon if scale not available) 3. Without shaking the bottle, gently open it. Quickly pour in the Magnesium Hydroxide. Quickly close and shake thoroughly. 4. Place bottle in fridge for 30 mins for the Magnesium Hydroxide to react with the CO2 in the seltzer. 5. Take it out after 30 mins and shake one last time. Let it settle in the fridge for another 30 mins and it's ready for consumption. The Magnesium Hydroxide reacts with the CO2 in the seltzer and creates Magnesium Bicarbonate. You will see the seltzer bottle cave in, signaling that the reaction is working (towards the end). You may adjust how much Magnesium Hydroxide you use, you will know you're using too much because you will see white sediments at the bottom of the bottle (this is un-reacted Magnesium Hydroxide). Also the brand of Soda/Seltzer you use, as well as other factors will determine the amount of Magnesium Hydroxide you need to use. Some brands carbonate more and thus more Magnesium Hydroxide can be used. Not to worry if you put in too much and you see white sediment at the bottom, it is not bad for you - it just creates a laxative effect. You may use this Magnesium Bicarbonate concentrate 1-2 8 ounce glasses a day, or preferably create a diluted solution for all day drinking. How to make diluted solution to drink all day: 1. Measure out 11 ounces or 1/3 liter from the Concentrate (1/3 of bottle). 2. Add 3.5 liters of your drinking water (Preferably distilled or filtered) 3. Combine the two to make 1 Gallon of drinking water. You can consume this in 1 day. This concentrate would make about 10-11 liters of drinking water. I personally make a healthy Gallon drinking jug every day. Start with clean distilled water I add Magnesium Bicarbonate, Potassium Gluconate, fresh lemons, Chia seeds, Pinch of Sea salt.

Solve Muscle Cramps Forever
As the author of The 9 Lives of Marva DeLonghi, I'm enamored of solving mysteries, and solving the mystery of my muscle cramps may be my greatest victory of investigation to date. I had constant, painful cramps that woke me at night thrashing in pain, and I'd tried everything to resolve them. Nothing worked. Then I heard that Magnesium Bicarbonate was effective in solving muscle cramps. To make Magnesium Bicarbonate, you need to add Magnesium Hydroxide to carbonated water. Enter this mag-hydroxide. I put a tablespoon in a half-gallon of soda water, shake vigorously, and let the magic of chemistry do the rest. After a few hours and a few shakes, the mag-bicarbonate is ready to drink. And finally, my muscle cramps are gone. Now, you might be asking why would I not just buy the mag-bicarbonate instead of mixing it myself, and the answer is mag-bicarbonate is really costly to buy, but it's quite inexpensive to make. If you have muscle cramps, you need this.

Helps regulate digestion
This is a powder. It is used to regulate your digestion. You can get the same results, I understand, by buying a chewable version. It works, but I would not take a whole teaspoonful. And, depending on your tolerance, I would experiment and like me, take it every other day if that works better. So, you can see it will last for a loooong time. I mixed it with boiling water with an herbal tea. Be sure it dissolves. (That is why I chose the hot water method.) I also find that sometimes it helps with sleep of you drink it between dinner and bedtime.

Smooth Move Master
I’ve been stirring a scoop of this into my morning water and it’s like my digestive system got its own personal reset button—no chalky aftertaste, just a silky, almost invisible mix that slides down easy. Within hours, everything’s moving along like clockwork instead of feeling stuck in slow-mo. What really impresses me is the dual action—it tackles acid flare-ups and keeps things regular without the jitters or cramping you get from harsher options. My occasional heartburn’s dialed way back, and I’m no longer dodging spontaneous “emergency break” moments. Plus, the powder format means zero fillers and total control over how much I need on any given day. The bag’s huge—so I’m set for months—and it’s become my go-to for day-off self-care or whenever life gets hectic. If you want a fuss-free way to keep your gut happy and your energy up, this magnesium hydroxide boost is a quiet legend in my routine.

Awesome to make natural deodorant with!
Was looking for a cheaper alternative to my favorite deodorant that is $9 a stick & i think i found it! with sensitive skin i can’t do the baking soda heavy deodorants so instead use this as the primary ingredient. Here’s the first try at making it: 1 1/2 tbsp magnesium hydroxide 1 tbsp + 1 tsp coconut oil heaping 1 tbsp shea butter 1 tbsp + 1 tsp pastilles beeswax 1/2 tbsp fractionated coconut oil 2 1/2 tsp Diatomaceous Earth (or arrowroot powder) 1 tsp baking soda pinch of activated charcoal 12 drops essential oil (try lavender, sweet orange, cedarwood, and/or peppermint) Instructions: Combine coconut oil, fractionated coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax together in a heatproof jar or container (i used pyrex). Place the jar down into a saucepan containing a few inches of water, and heat the pan over a medium low burner until everything is melted together. Remove from heat and stir in the magnesium hydroxide powder and DE/arrowroot powder. Stir in essential oil, if using. Stir for a couple of minutes – you’ll notice the mixture will start thickening as it cools while you stir. Spoon into a glass jar. Alternatively, you can scoop this into a pushup deodorant tube/container. Tip: If you spoon into a deodorant tube, bang the bottom of the tube against a hard surface several times as you fill, then afterwards, to help it settle in better, and to eliminate any big air bubbles/gaps.

Good quality fine white powder that mixes easily. It has no strong taste and is easy to use in small measured amounts. The texture is smooth and consistent, and it works well for DIY supplement or formulation use. Packaging is simple and practical for bulk storage. Overall, it feels like a clean and reliable food-grade ingredient.
