These have a transformer built into them? 24 vac supplies to control panel so I don’t need a separate transformer for these?

You will need to provide a 24V power source or transformer for these dampers. If you are not familiar or about transformers we suggest you purchase a wall plugin 110/120V primary model a 2and a 24VAC secondary. There are many available at reasonable prices. If you are using a zone controller or thermostat to control the damper they will typically provide 24V power to the damper.

Will this operate on 24vdc as well as 24vac?

Yes. This damper is compatible with 24VAC and 24VDC power inputs.

Is this damper for indoor use only?

The damper itself (without the motor) can stand up to outdoor exposure, but the motor is designed for indoor use only. The damper and motor assembly can be used in any enclosed dry spaces such as attics, basements, underside of pier and beam homes.

can it stay partially open or only open or closed?

The damper motor can modulate between full open and full closed but you need a controller to do that. When you apply 24 VAC to the open terminals on the damper motor it will drive open until you stop applying 24 VAC and that can be anywhere in the range of full closed to full open. The same applies to the drive close so you need a controller that can modulate the control voltage.
