This is the ideal trash and recycling solution for a small household. It holds about 1–2 days’ worth of waste for my family, which is just right. The lid opens and closes smoothly, and it does an excellent job containing odors—there’s no smell unless the lid is open. It comes with two 8-gallon bins inside, plus a starter pack of 20 8-gallon bags, which was a nice bonus. The bins are easy to lift out when it’s time to change the liners. I especially appreciate the clever little hole inside that lets you tuck in excess bag material—perfect if you’re using slightly larger liners. Just twist and tuck, and the bag stays securely in place. The only downside was that it arrived with a small dent on one side, despite being well-packaged. Thankfully, it’s on the side facing the wall, so it’s not a dealbreaker for me. Overall, this trash/recycle can is sleek, functional, and thoughtfully designed. Highly recommend!

Was shocked at how hard it was for me to pick a new trash can when our old one broke, but did lots of research and landed on this one! Worth the price! The separate recycling bin is so easy to remove to take out to dump in our recycling bin, and love that it has a little handle for easy carrying. Lid closure is quiet and it fits sleekly in our kitchen — doesn't seem as bulky and big as our old one, even though it is technically larger.

Just got this dual bin. I luckily didn’t get one with dents or damage. However, neither of the two lids are soft close, as they say in the descriptions and images all throughout the listing. The lids open fine, but once you step off the pedals, they come crashing back down and make a ton of noise. The soft close feature was one of the important reasons why I chose this bin versus others. I’m pretty disappointed that they lie about this function. *UPDATE* Turns out, the lids ARE soft close. The issue is that the mechanisms that make the lids close kept falling out of place, so the lids just clunked closed. I went in and reset them and they started closing softly as they should. However, the left side (the bigger bin) started crashing to a close the following day. I realized that there is a bit of a flaw in their design. The small hydraulic piston thing that is what slows the lid is supposed to be pressed against a very small platform. That piston kept slipping past the edges of the platform. My solution was to fashion a bit of a cap for that platform, keeping the piston from slipping past the edge and failing to stop the lid. Worked perfectly. I made it using some plastic and tape. 4/5 stars because the trash bin is nice, well built. Would be 5/5, but for the price (which I think is quite high), having such a design flaw is disappointing. It should be fool proof.

This is a great and modern addition to our kitchen and household appliances. Unlike other trash cans, there were no issues with lid closure or portability. It was a great value for the money and works well with other types of trash bags.

I changed my review from 3 to 5 stars because the replacement was in perfect condition and works great. (1st review: Ours arrived with a big dent on one side both corners. Like something heavy was on it. We will replace and hope for the best. If it arrives dented again, I think we will move on. But if it wasn't dented, looks real nice.)

Excellent lid with a great appearance and very sturdy. Stainless steel is great and quality value for the price.

Great trash can and I lined getting my recycling off the counter. A year and a half later the green bin broke. Contacted Customer Service for a new one but they don’t have any in stock nor are they getting any new ones in stock. So now I have to buy a new trash can.
