whenever ive tried to poach eggs in the microwavr, they explode. will these help with that?

Put 1/3 cup water in a mug, or one of these I imagine, drop the egg in and pierce the yolk. It is about 45-50 seconds in my 1000w microwave. The exact second is important to achieve balance and microwaves vary obviously. I have not tried a lower power but that might be a good idea. to better achieve the right time.

Can these used in an electric power pressure cooker on a steamer rack? They would only be in for about three minutes.

Yes, they can. Acturally a majority of our customers use it in "instan pot" to steam vegetables and poaching eggs. Just be aware if you want to put multiple poachers in the cooker, the diameters of the pot should be larger than 10". And I think it is a briliant idea to put them on steamer rack to avoid flip over by the tumbling water. Wish you an egg-cellent day!
