I'm reviewing the Victorinox VIC-6.7903.6 Swiss Classic Sets 6-Piece Steak Set (5" Gaucho Straight) Black Pros Sharpen up sharp! Blade is just the right thickness Durable Dishwasher worthy Cons Not cute. Not pretty. If you hate using dull knives you will love these steak knives. The blade is thin enough to sharpen up well but thick enough to be strong and stiff. The handles will probably last forever even with repeated dishwasher cleanings. I received the Chef's knife version of these knives as a gift 3 years ago. It is the ONLY knife I want to use if I need to cut or dice large fruit or vegetables. I love how sharp this knife can get using a basic electric knife sharpener. Just a few strokes on both sides of the blade and it is good to go. For cutting meat or melon the steak knives are perfect. My wife is afraid to use a Chef's knife so she uses the steak knives for cutting any food. If you often cut yourself with a knife due to a coordination issue then stay away from these knives and pick something dull. For all others these are awesome knives. The Amazon ad says the Country of Origin is China. I'm not sure that is correct but the bottom line is that these knives are great no matter who made them or where they were shipped from! I recommend these additional items along with the steak knives. You won't be sorry. These seem to work extremely well and are exactly what I was looking for when I spec'd out a replacement set of steak knives. Straight edge with no serrations, comfortable handle, easy to sharpen when needed, and dishwasher safe. They've met all requirements and have handled many dishwasher cycles. Victorinox cooking knives seem to be a continually well priced and performing option.

I have been looking to replace my current steak knives, they have rust spots I assume from being washed in the dishwasher, but that's one of my "must haves". Truthfully, I haven't had steak knives in the past ten years that did well in the dishwasher even though marked dishwasher safe. I've had these knives about a month and they are doing okay with dishwashing. They have some slight spots on them but not rust spots, and shine up when wipes with a damp cloth and some rubbing. They are sharp enough, but are not gorgeous. If you have other victorinox knives, the handles look and feel the same as their other products. All in all I am satisfied with the purchase as they serve the purpose well, wash okay in the dishwasher and look decent enough, though not elegant.

They're not fancy but they're very functional and razor sharp. I like non-serrated blades so I can sharpen them more easily. I have 3 other Victorinox knives (2 Santoku and 1 Chef's) and they're fantastic. Durable, hold their edge and dishwasher safe. I like razor sharp knives so sharpen them a lot. When they wear out, I just buy new ones. I'd much rather do that instead of spending big money on fancy knives I have to hand wash, hone every time I use, and treat like a baby. Give me a knife I can run through my Chef’sChoice 15 Trizor XV EdgeSelect on the regular and doesn't need to be pampered. Victorinox blades fit the bill.

Great sharp knifes. Would buy again

These knives are excellent. Handle feel is great and knife edge is extremely sharp. Very high quality. I replaced a set of Henckels with these and these are so much better quality. The blade quality is superb. The handles are very utilitarian but that's great because they can be washed in dishwasher without issues. Henckels would crack the handle. Highly recommend. The butcher knife is also excellent. I'll be getting more of these.

These are not the highest end steak knives in the world, but they are an excellent value. The straight edge, unlike the typical serrated edge on most cheap steak knives, means that these can actually be sharpened. Nice feel, sharp, can be kept sharp. Great for an everyday stamped blade knife. Maybe one day I'll upgrade to forged knives.

They are so nice! So sharp! They look so good! I have ordered some for gifts and some for myself! They are so good that you just want to brag about them and give them out lol
