CUTEBEE Dollhouse Miniature with Furniture, DIY Wooden Dollhouse Kit Plus Dust Proof, Creative Room Idea

I had about 10 booknooks under my belt before attempting to build Magic Wand and Magic Coffee miniature. I read all the reviews about how things had to be cut and glued together to make everything from scratch so I knew what I was getting into from the start and there were no surprises. That's why I think I really loved this style of build. It's tangentially similar to a booknook kit, but here everything is kind of freeform. No snapping things into place or just popping out a coffee maker and placing it somewhere. It's very detailed and I like that everything is 3D. Also cool to be able to open it and look at the details inside. Magic Coffee took me about 3 weeks of working on it. Another reviewer said it took them 100 hours to fully assemble and even though I didn't keep track of time spent, I believe it was probably close to that. Magic Wand took me about 2 weeks since it was a very similar build to Magic Coffee. I got tired for making wands so I had to take a break for a few days so that it didn't get annoying, but overall it was a fun build. Lots of odes to Harry Potter. My box had a paintbrush but it was was missing the paint. I happened to have green paint on hand that matched closely so I used that for the window and some trim. My personal supplies included: scissors, B-7000 glue, Scotch super glue, ruler, furniture markers to touch up edges, exacto knife, tweezers, binder clips large and small. Note that neither kit included any of this. The box was not wrapped in plastic and I was worried about missing pieces, but I went through the inventory list and counted every bead, button, and screw before beginning and 99.9% of everything was there with some to spares. I also check the lights 1st thing before every build to make sure that was working. Some wood pieces are warped and therefore I had to use superglue, but for everything else I use B-7000 glue which has worked perfect for all my builds. It was also hard to take the pieces out without splintering so I had to use an exacto knife on every wood piece. I had to keep binder clips on hand for these builds since there was a bit of clamping required to keep things together. I suggest keeping everything separated in the ziploc bags they come in. I had no issues with instructions on either miniature, everything was straightforward (though I'm very good at assembling furniture so following instructions are my strength). I don't ever read the text on instructions because pictures are usually more than enough for me. I am meticulous and patient so these projects keep my creative juices engaged. I really had a blast assembling this and recommend it for more those with more experience.

This is the third model I've built since I started doing these, and it was by far the most detailed. If you are experienced at building models, it probably won't be too tough for you, but as others have commented, I wouldn't suggest it for a beginner. To help those considering this item, I wan't to point out a few things that others have negatively commented on that shouldn't be a deterrent to you buying this item, but may be helpful for you to keep in mind if you decide to purchase: 1. With any model you buy, do an inventory check of EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU START. That way, if something is missing, you can take whatever action you choose (return it, contact the seller, improvise, etc.), before you've invested too much time. 2. Always read through the entire directions first, before you start to build and repeatedly while you are working on each piece of the model. The written instructions can be a little difficult to understand (they're translated from another language, so the English equivalent can get a little confusing) but the photos do help a lot. Before I glue stuff together, I try to piece the item together to get an idea of what it should look like. I also read ahead when I am working on an item to see where does it go in the final piece, if the directions are a little fuzzy, and that usually helps. 3. The biggest issue you will encounter with this item is the roof panels, but I didn't see that as a reason to knock of a star. Others have commented that they could not finish their piece, and that it was essentially a waste of time. It doesn't have to be, which is why I am telling you this in the review. Another person commented (and I agree): be willing to improvise on your models, and be ok with them not being exactly like the photos on the box. As you'll see in mine, the roof panels in the front would not line up no matter what I did, there would be a big gap either at the top, or at the bottom. So don't even try to make it work, it mathematically doesn't. Even a video on Youtube showing someone building this model, couldn't get it to line up. So my husband came up with the improv fix that you see in the photos. He bought some wood pieces similar to a popsicle stick at a craft store, measured and cut them for me so that the roof would fit without such huge gaps. I painted them as close to the color as I could, and then with the vine accents, I think it turned out pretty good. Bottom line is: no one who sees the finished product will know that you improvised on it, they'll think that's how it was supposed to be, and you get to finish your model. Again, this is a challenging model and I don't recommend it for a first-timer or a kid. But if you are considering it, I hope what I mentioned above can help you out, and that you enjoy putting it together as much as I did!

I built this for my sister for her birthday. It's the 4th miniature build I've done. It took me about 100 hours, altogether. And, it's a beautiful build. The instructions were clear. The pictures are very helpful. The number one tip I've found in miniature building is: be open to making modifications when necessary. Your build may not look exactly like the picture, but it can still look really great. I made several modifications for various reasons. Some thoughts: + The triangular roof pieces were not big enough to attach to the other roof pieces. There was an open gap on the roof that was probably an inch wide. This was disappointing. To cover, I glued extra of the green vine over top of it. + Be careful with the small wooden pieces for the pastry display cabinet. In the process of gluing the cabinet together, one of the pieces snapped into several smaller pieces. So, I improvised and created a pastry table. + When making the pieces with shelving, it's probably better to glue the smaller pieces on to the shelves before gluing the shelves to the cabinets. I followed the measurements in the instructions, but still had to remove and reset shelving in both cases. Also, I ended up modifying where some things were placed due to insufficient shelf height. + Due to a challenge gluing the fabric with the pink pillow on the rattan sofa, I used a leftover bunny from a Lego set. + Some of the paper crafting is intricate. It requires patience, a steady hand, and focus. And even then, there's margin for error. One small mistake in the cutting or gluing can cost you the piece. + The window film that I received was a bit scratched and smudged. So, I purchased transparency film to substitute. + The transparent film collects dust. I used a can of compressed air to clean the windows off when done. Note: Be very careful (gentle) when doing this, and make sure your window film is glued well. I ended up using too much pressure and blowing out one of the triangle windows. It also blew some of the interior pieces around, too. Because everything is closed in when put together, it can be very difficult to reset the pieces on the inside.

These things are so much fun to put together! My daughter and I are on our second (this one) and I will suggest if this is your choice for a first timer, wait, and do a Nook Book first. This house is TINY! As said in the description, but we really didn’t realize how tiny. The intricacies of all the small bits were a challenge. We only got 1/3 of the way done in 6 hours. But again, it really is fun. You need a steady hand, a sharp exacto knife, and good glue. Try to avoid the thin, but get med glue for these projects, and the extra tips. The thin doesn’t work well with the fabrics. Oh. And a couple pairs of good thin tipped tweezers. Since the lighting is usually assembled prior to the end, make sure you get the appropriate batteries before getting started. All in all, highly recommend any of these diy tiny projects. Might be a bit difficult for just one person, so maybe think of a pal. After this one we have another 2 to put together. Can’t wait!!

Much more involved than a typical snap together booknook. I love making book nooks but the fun is often over too quickly and was looking for something a bit more involved. This thing is not too much bigger than my hand and is crammed full of tiny objects - some that have to be assembled from even tinier objects. For example, there’s a sauté pan with lid, smaller than a fingernail that you make by cutting out a tiny disk for the base, a strip to glue around it for the sides, a clear plastic lid, a ring to frame the lid, glueing it all together with a little bent wire for the pan handle and a 2mm bead for the lid handle. I think that alone took me 30mins-1 hr to make! Instructions are not bad - photo of alternate angles may have helped with some steps. Be sure to check all the items to confirm you have everything and to familiarize yourself with the pieces. You’ll need the right tools to assemble this kit - scalpel style knife, magnifier, tweezers, ruler. I found the most difficult things to work with was the fake grass (couldn’t get the template to stick or cut through it correctly) and the gold wire (used for the faucets - the gold kept flaking off). No glue was provided with the kit - luckily I had some left over from a completed booknook. Otherwise, the results were really rewarding. Beautiful piece that provides a really strong sense of accomplishment. Update: tried to switch the power source to usb 6V (this takes 2 x 3V coin batteries) and burnt out the leds - so don’t do what I did! Tempted to rebuy and build again because it is so pretty lit up.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Previously, I assembled a wooden model by CUTEBEE and thoroughly enjoyed it. The quality and finish of this model surpassed others I had put together, so when I noticed another Japanese-themed model from CUTEBEE, I decided to buy it. That was a big mistake! The CUTEBEE Dollhouse Miniature House Kit turned out to be a disaster. The first kit I received was clearly a return and had missing parts. I ordered a second kit and sent the first one back to Amazon, only to receive another returned model missing essential components. They restock returned items and attempt to sell them as new, unopened kits without checking that all necessary items are included. In the second kit, the entire kitchen set was missing. Moreover, you have to build everything yourself with poorly written instructions. Everything needs glue, which is not provided in the kit. You receive scraps of material and must cut and glue the pieces together yourself. The instructions are badly written, and the diagrams and photos are not very helpful. For instance, when instructed to thread the lamp line through the structure, the instructions say, "Fold it according to dimensions and twist it to fried dough twist." The parts are not properly labeled and are simply tossed together in plastic bags. I am unsure why this model kit has received such high reviews, but I would definitely advise against wasting your money on it. It is very poorly designed.

This is the 8th miniature DIY project I’ve done and so far, the Tea House/Cake Shop by Cutebee has the best detailed instructions to date! It’s not only a very lovely model with flowers, lights and music box, I can tell they put a TON of work into making this project as user-friendly as they could! Sure, it’s still complicated to assemble this meticulously detailed and well designed kit, but that’s because it’s a meticulously detailed miniature, that’s what it’s supposed to be! 😂 The instructions and packaging are the main reason for my 5 star rating. A lot of these DIY kits on Amazon come with instructions that show fuzzy pictures and not much explanation, with translations into English from Chinese that are confusing to a native English speaker. This one makes a big effort to add more tips and clarifications, translation is still a little odd (For example: they say “stick this” - they mean “glue this”; “use toothpick to get glue from stickup positions” - means “lift glue off the edges where objects were joined/glued together”; or lastly “manufacture this” - they just mean “make or form it”). But still, I can tell they worked so hard on making this as easy to understand as possible! They include a lot of tips in red ink for particularly challenging steps. All the pieces were there, lots of details and materials, I’m making it to give as a Mothers Day gift.

It was to assemble however I got one that jad been returned. Some paper peices were missing. Some tiny objects to assemble were already done . Leather peice and some tiny specific colored beads missing. It was still fun but it was a let down for sure. .

Très bel article, travail très minutieux, il faut être patient, studieux, minutieux, car les pièces sont vraiment très très petites, mais la finition est excellente, c'est magnifique tout illuminé, et tellement miniature, sur une bibliothèque, pour vous faire une idée, c'est la moitié d'un livre en hauteur, et pas un livre BD, un livre normal. Le fournisseur est sérieux livraison rapide, emballage propre, et les pièces bien rangées. Je recommande même pour débutant.

En verdad es muy difícil de manejar porque son piezas minúsculas, pero me encantó la experiencia del montaje y es precioso. Me llevó bastantes horas.

プラモデルとペーパークラフトの製作経験者だったりすれば 製作技術は応用できますのでドールハウス製作初心者でも心配いらないレベルのキットです。 YouTubeに この商品の組み立て動画がいくつかアップされているので 何度も見ながら参考に製作を進めれば より組み立てのイメージがしやすいのでお薦めです。 部品の欠品は ありませんでしたが、MAGIC という電光看板の木製フレーム部品の合板不良から 部品取り出ししたら 形が崩れるように部分的欠損してしまい この部分を復元再生製作するのに半日掛かってしまいました。。 木製部品、紙部品の切り出し部分や断面に塗装を追加しながら 個々の部品のクオリティを上げてやってから接着組み立てしてやれば 初体験作でも この程度には 仕上げられます。 場所により複数の接着剤、紙両面テープを使い分けすると良いのは ペーパークラフト同様です。 お値段以上に製作は楽しめ、完成後の見栄えも良くて お薦めのキットかと思います。

The make of the kit is excellent; the design is modern yet minimalist, and crafty folks will enjoy the incredible amount of detail in the kit. The parts fit together well and barring accidents with too much or too little glue, will result in a pleasing model when fully assembled. Which makes my 1-star review seem odd, and the reason for this is that the kit I received was missing a significant piece, namely the east side wall, which renders the kit incomplete and therefore defective. I discovered this late in the building process, and unfortunately, the replacement part was impossible to get due to my non-US address. So now I have an incomplete model that I will need to either throw out or buy a new kit in hopes that it will contain my missing part. Depending on your own circumstances, this might not be an option. Caveat emptor. Shame really, it's a really nice kit otherwise.
