Excellent aluminum cleaner/degreaser
I use this to clean and degrease aluminum automotive, motorcycle, and marine parts instead of it's intended use as a coil cleaner. I've used it on aluminum sterndrives, outboards, flame arrestors, engines, cylinder heads, suspension parts, radiators, condensers, unpainted wheels... more stuff than I can even remember. It foams up quickly and lifts corrosion and contamination from aluminum parts, leaving a nice clean surface. As far as using this on HVAC coils, I would not advise this at all on commercial or residential coils as they are typically way too thin - especially now that the EPA has essentially mandated they last only a handful of years - to dare risk it. It would be almost impossible to ensure removal of all of this product, and what is left behind will continue to eat the coils. Even if you do manage to successfully remove every last vestige of this cleaner from the coils, they will be thinner as a result of this caustic cleaner. For my own home unit I just use a mild soapy solution and water. For automotive AC and engine cooling systems, I don't worry about spraying this on the outside to clean it because the coils are made far thicker than residential and commercial HVAC equipment. I have applied this with both a 2-gallon wand type garden sprayer as well as a 1/2 quart spray bottle, and I don't dilute it. This product is a very alkaline mixture of water and sodium hydroxide (lye, caustic soda). While this makes it far less dangerous than the acidic cleaners that contained hydrofluoric acid, it should still be treated with all due respect. You're essentially messing with drain cleaner here! Be sure to wear chemical resistant gloves when working with this product, as well as proper eye protection! Don't breathe the vapors emitted from this stuff when it's actively reacting with the aluminum!

This product works great.
It says itโs foaming. I mix as directions said. Got no foaming at all. But thatโs Ok. It worked so well cleaning my condenser coils. Really pleased with the product. Wish I would have taken a picture before and after cleaning the coils.

Works well, foams like crazy with coil sprayer
My AC unit is years over due for a cleaning. I used this stuff with a coil sprayer from Coil Guys that hooks onto a hose. Others said it didnโt foam, but oh man did it ever. Maybe you just need the sprayer. Anyways, it did a nice job. A couple cautions. One I got some of the concentrate on my forearm and didnโt wash it off because it is โnon-acidโ. Half an hour later I felt a searing burning and looked and I my flesh was changing color. I got a minor chemical burn. Turns out this is Caustic Lye, i.e. sodium hydroxide. It's very dangerous stuff. This wasn't clear from the bottle. Wear large glove and especially eye protection. If you get this in your eyes, it could cause permanent damage. Second, there was so much foam in and around the unit that it took about 40 mins to thoroughly dilute it all and wash it away. I didnโt want the dog getting into it. Total mess. So be ready for that.

Cleaned the AC coils
It cleaned the dirt right off the coils. For deeper cleaning one needs an AC expert.

Never used anything better.
I'm giving this 5 stars because I've never seen anything better yet. I've used the BS they sell at the "bigbox stores" and I'm wondering now if that crap even did anything!! This stuff is making a CLEAR DIFFERENCE, I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW DIRTY THESE COILS WERE!!!! Be warned though, USE PPE! This has a lot of potential for serious harm!!

Honest Review
I've cleaned many evaporators and coils for my job, used many different products, decided to use this for cleaning my own personal evaporator coil outside, dont get me wrong, it does infact clean the fins, it removed algae and dirt, however I dont get where they call this a "FOAMING" product, because it does not foam in the slightest when applied or after sitting. The only time it foamed was when it was rinsed out and sitting in the drain pan getting hit with a garden hose, I've used other foaming cleaners that actually penetrate and foam expand after sitting just a few seconds, I expected this Todo the same, but it just sits there like a bump on a log. If you're looking for a basic cleaner to clean just a normal "dusty surface" evaporator this will do it, if you have a plugged one, I would look at Nu-Calgon or something else because this ain't gonna cut it.
