Hi there,I bought this item for my wife during her pregnancy considering she would be having aches and pains and this can go both hot and cold. We keep it in the freezer so it's ready to go cold if need be, and only takes about 3-4 mins in the microwave to heat up from the freezer state.SHE LOVES IT! It's been a lifesaver for when her back is aching, and when she is just generally feeling uncomfortable with the little one the cold on hey tummy eases her discomfort.Hope it helps,Phil

I LOVE the fact that this has handles and it's solely the reason I purchased it. I use this for neck whiplash & lower back pain. It stays hot for quite a while but it often emits a not-so-great smell. Dropped 1 star for that. I still highly recommend this product.

I had the worst Torticollis I had ever had. Usually it would pass in a day or so but this just got worse. Dr rather reluctantly prescribed muscle relaxants and painkillers but they only took the edge off. This item brought my sanity back.I went for the unscented one but still you can smell the grain inside and that smell is great! The heat is just right, my only criticism, which is minor, is it doesn't last as long as I would like. But yes, it has instructions how to top the heat up.It eased the pain so I could then start moving the neck and normality was resumed :-)
