Such a simple thing yet fun as anything. The notion of a water filled ball as pool play seems simple but had not seen this before visiting friends a while back. My kids immediately wanted one. It's literally a blast but you don't want to get hit by it. Cool to work with it underwater - dribbling, passing, or playing tag.

It's a ball... that sinks AND floats. I mean, it's not rocket science, but it's such a cool toy! I saw lots of versions of this, but what can I say - I wanted to support the original maker. I got the small size, as we have a small pool, and I just thought it would be best for tossing around and diving underwater for. I wasn't wrong! My son loves to have us throw it for him and then he'll dive and spin and try to catch it. Yes, I DO think he may be part lab. Or otter. Not quite sure which. I love to throw it different ways and see how it'll spin and curve underwater. It's rather fascinating. And fun. It's gotten accidentally tossed out of the pool a few times, and it looks and feels like it could stand up to much worse treatment. The rubber it's made out of is Thick, so I'm not afraid it's going to break anytime soon. It Does weigh a few pounds, so, as long as you and your kids understand it's not a balloon, it's a water-weighted ball, everyone should be fine. No purposefully dropping it on a sibling's head, you know? Or slinging it into someone's crotch. That junk WILL hurt, even with the small size. For that purpose, I'd definitely supervise the use of it until the tween years, unless your younger child is crazy responsible and considerate. Honestly, the hardest part was figuring out how far in to stick the water-inflation needle. For the record, you gotta stick it allll the way in there. Otherwise it'll just spit around the opening. Stop giggling in the back of the room.

We grabbed the Watermelon Ball Lit for our Intex above-ground pool, and the underwater game itself is a genuine blast. You fill it with water so it becomes neutrally buoyant and "dribble" it along the bottom of the pool — the kids (and honestly the adults) have had a great time passing and chasing it around. It's a clever twist on a pool toy and a nice change from floats and noodles. The Game Itself This is the part that works. Once you get the water-fill level dialed in, the ball glides and sinks naturally so you can pass it underwater, which is way more fun than it sounds. Filling it takes a little trial and error with the included needle/valve, but after a couple tries we had it moving the way it's supposed to. The Glow Feature — The Letdown Here's the honest downside: the light-up/glow feature just doesn't work well. It's the main reason the "Lit" version costs more than the standard ball, and it underdelivers — the glow is weak and doesn't hold up the way we expected, so it adds little to nighttime play. If the glow is your main reason for buying this version, I'd temper your expectations. The regular (non-lit) version would probably be the better value for most people. Honest Notes The underwater game is genuinely fun and a hit with kids. Getting the water-fill level right takes a couple tries. The light-up feature is the weak point — dim and underwhelming. Two weeks of use so far; I'll update if the glow performance changes or fails entirely. Bottom Line A fun, creative underwater pool toy that delivers on play value but falls short on the one feature that sets this version apart. Buy it for the game, not the glow. Recommended with that caveat — and if you don't care about the light-up gimmick, save a little and grab the standard version.

It’s fun! Maybe not the best with kids under 7 ish because it can be heavy since it is filled with water. It’s the size of a soccer ball. and I made a rule that no one can toss it near anyone’s head. But otherwise it’s a fun toy it floats but sinks easy when you toss it underwater.

Fun pool toy with many game options since it bounces but also sinks a bit. Makes great splashes and the bright rainbow colors are great for visibility. Easy to fill with the provided hose attachment- only took a minute. This would make a great summer gift.

This toy is a fun idea and works as expected when filled with water. It was easy to fill and provided some laughs while playing with it. The material feels decent, and it’s a good size for outdoor games. However, it didn’t seem as durable as I hoped, and after a few uses it started showing signs of wear. It’s still enjoyable, but I think the quality could be improved. Overall, it’s an okay purchase if you’re looking for a simple, inexpensive water toy.

Great ball! I purchased this ball in May 2021 and it is still up and running. This Ball lives in our pool and so it’s constantly exposed to the pool chemicals and the Florida UV rays. In addition, I have two kids who both played with the extremely aggressively and often. Over the last year or two, some of the markings have faded to the point where they have almost disappeared, but I would’ve thought that would’ve happened within a month. The fact that they can still throw the ball around is a wonder. They also sometimes throw this fall out of the water or try to throw it as far as they possibly can which I would imagine, puts quite a bit of strain on it.. especially when it’s hitting concrete or travertine with its full weight. I would absolutely buy this ball again!

I bought the watermelon ball for my 14 year old grandson. They have just put in a swimming pool and I knew they would get a lot of ordinary pool toys for Christmas. I thought that this was different enough to create a bit of excitement. I wasn't wrong! The three grandchildren are all loving it and the ability to play with it underwater. It definitely outshone the other pool toys on offer! Would recommend.
