I originally ordered another ‘normal’ steam iron, which, according to reviews was supposed to easily remove creases and glide across your fabric. It was a well known make, but definitely did not live up to expectations, it even had what looked like residue on the plate, which did not shift and made the iron drag on the fabric. Needless to say this iron is being returned! So after much deliberation, (due to the price), and research, I decided to give this Tefal steam generator a go as the reviews were good and the normal price was reduced by £100. Having never used a steam generator Iron before, I have to say I’m really impressed. The iron itself is lovely and light to use and the water tank is huge, meaning less refills. The unit heats up reasonably quickly and is very easy to use, but the most impressive thing is that creases come out very easily, and folded items are ironed both sides at once, so my ironing time is reduced significantly, winner, winner! So far I’m a very happy customer and at this time (having only used the iron once) I would definitely recommend this iron.

This iron is amazing! 18 months ago my old steam generator iron died (after many years' service) and I decided to go back to a traditional iron which was a total disaster from day one. But I am so pleased I have seen sense and bought this Tefal iron; it is efficient, straightforward, cuts ironing time in half, very easy to use, ironing looks amazing and creases disappear in a moment and I do think it is worth the expense; excellent value for money. You really shouldn't be disappointed. Very happy customer.

Fabulous piece of kit easy to use

This iron is a must have for families but doesn’t replace your normal iron however You don’t need to keep refilling. Take out insurance with it to replace when it scales up(mine hasn’t yet after 12 months). It has it’s own stand which makes things easy. Fantastic for ironing trousers esp wool fabrics. Safer than normal irons because it is harder to burn clothes with this iron. Great for steaming blouses hanging up. Cons: Let off alot of steam in the room. Cant change the settings but I have never needed to because of the way it is. Need a sturdy board or a table top iron because slightly heavy. The cable that holds water gets warm so keep away from young children. I am so pleased with it despite everything because of the convenience of what it can do. I have a small iron for quick jobs like school shirts but I couldn’t live without this steam iron.

Very very very good. Works so well, even on badly creased cotton & linen (when it is badly creased you just need to be more patient and move very slowly over the fabric as you steam) I purposefully bought large capacity tank to reduce refilling time. Good decision. Descale thing works. A brown discharge is a sign that you need to remove the descale thing & descale it. You only need to clean it maybe x2/yr. Bought 2022 for £130. [It was a replacement for the very expensive Italian one that failed within 18mths & Tefal works much much much better, even though steam pressure both the same] Now 2026 & still going strong. 2026 I dropped it & broke the water tank. Oops! Quick & easy tank replacement bought directly from Tefal for £21.50 + £13.50 EU postage…working perfectly again. Arrived within 5 days. Luckily main part of machine still working perfectly. Fixed! Phew!

Absolutely fantastic iron. Got through my ironing in half the time

My wife has had a Tefal steam generator iron for years, she Launders almost on an 'Industrial Scale' and so the Iron gets a mountain of use. For her usage, even though she is fanatical about cleaning and maintenance of it, they typically last about 3 to 4 years before something fails and we end up buying a new one. She has tried other brands of steam generators and they are not in the same class as Tefal and she will never buy other brands now. When this one arrived, it was much the same as the others but the one disappointing thing was there was now no longer a plug cord storage slot and that was a little irritating and spoils Tefal's image really. It 'smacks' of cost saving in Production but that is not reflected in a cost saving for the purchaser. Given the choice, we would prefer the storage slot for the power cable as it is easier to pack and stack away. Notwithstanding that, the performance is 5 star as always with Tefal Steam Generator Irons and she has Zero complaints about how it feels, how it Irons, quantity of Steam etc. Is has an 'auto detect' temperature controller and my wife was VERY sceptical about that but it works just fine...ironed with caution first but not now...good innovation but removes customer choice on temperatures which should be considered a drawback; innovation is good -removal of choice maybe a bridge too far but we knew what it was when we bought it, so we cannot complain about it. We would highly recommend this Tefal Steam Generator Iron - it is not heavy, is easy to use and clean and does heavy duty usage no problem. Before you buy other brands, look at this Tefal one first...

I had a great Tefal iron for nearly 20 years when it finally gave up on me. I therefore decided to buy Tefal again. I have had this new iron for 16 months and I have been so disappointed. It is simply not true that you do not need a temperature control. The iron does not get hot enough to remove creases from certain clothes no matter how much steam you use. It now takes me significantly longer to iron. Even though the iron is in perfect working order, I have decided to buy a new iron. It will not be Tefal this time as this is supposed to be one of their best. I want an iron where I have complete control over what temperature is set. I want both steam and a spray, and I do not want to have to keep my finger continuously pressed on a button to get it to operate.

Not smooth ironing. My old steam iron did a better job.
