Holly crap! This has to be one of the strongest magnet I have ever used. I have two. If the two come near one another good luck getting them apart.! Hopefully you don’t get your fingers caught between them. I was useng this to get my water line inside my boat for a bow thruster. I was on the inside and my partner was on the out side my boat is snot 1/2” thick fiberglass and I had to mark the water line inside. I tried every magnet I had. These were the only ones that worked.

These magnets were a lot more than I expected... and by that I mean they can be quite dangerous. I knew they would be strong, but under estimated just how strong these were. My buddy and I had 2 and were trying out different experiments we had seen on youtube when he accidentally got them too close together. They smashed together with part of his palm in between breaking the skin and causing a lot of bruising. I'm a pretty strong guy and couldn't pull these apart. We had to slide them off his hand (which was quite painful) and then build a wooden 2x4 contraption to get them separated. luckily no broken bones from these. I share these details not to discourage people from buying them, just do not under estimate the strength of these magnets as we did, and to use caution when handling them. After observing his injury, how they smashed together, and the amount of force it took to get them separated... it could have been much worse. I give this product 5 stars because they are exactly as advertised and we had fun experimenting with them until we got careless. I've stored them in a safe place, and don't plan on using them again.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I use very strong magnets to adhere climbing branches to the glass of my chameleon's vivarium. I had been having trouble finding magnets strong enough to provide sufficient tension through 1/4 inch glass. These are perfect. Use some common sense with this item. It is as described and very powerful. Powerful enough to be dangerous if you're not exercising common sense. These magnets are very brittle and will smash into multiple pieces if you are careless. I immediately wrapped mine in electrical tape once I received them, to try and prevent any chipping. You could fairly easily cut your fingers with these if you're being careless, and probably cause pretty severe damage to a computer. Definitely keep these away from pets and children.

I love magnets and this one is probably my new favorite. The cube shape makes it unique and like many neodymium magnets it is STRONG. As with any strong magnet you should exercise caution when handling and the angular edges certainly make this even more important. I currently have it stuck to the side of the baker's rack in the kitchen and have fun just hanging cooking implements with it. I purchased this along with a cylinder magnet which also made for some fun experiments with my kids - again - SAFETY first! UPDATE: I was looking through my old reviews and came across this one and realized these magnets are still listed for sale - so I thought I'd write an update. I purchased these magnets some 8 years ago and they are still going strong. They see a decent amount of use (picking up screws and nails from the garage floor, catching iron filings when drilling into metal, finding screws and lathe nails behind drywall and plaster, and other tasks where you just want a really strong magnet. I might just buy another set to have around the shop. Still a 5 star pick!

These are powerful magnets. I only really needed one but it was just as cheap to get two. The danger/warning e-mail that you receive when you buy this product is very important to read and understand. I applied foam and electrical tape to both of these magnets to protect them from each other and from other magnetically sensitive items. The scissors I used to cut the foam have blades made of steel and therefore they stuck to the magnets a couple of times (they were the least magnetically sensitive cutting device I had on hand). Useful tips: Don't try to separate the magnets right away. Figure out how to keep them from smashing into each other and shattering, ruining your purchase and possibly injuring you. They will react to each other at just 1 foot away on smooth surfaces. Surfaces with high friction can help limit reaction distance. Once you separate these magnets, it is extremely difficult to keep them at bay if they come in close proximity again. To initially separate the two magnets, locate the edge of a firm surface such as the edge of a counter top and firmly push downward on BOTH magnets. Once separated, immediately move one magnet to a safe zone free of metal objects. You might find it useful to use the included bubble wrap to roll up one of the magnets while you work with the other one. Wrapping each magnet in foam and electrical tape will help keep them from shattering if they do smash into each other. If you or someone else has a pacemaker or other sensitive internal medical device, do not purchase these magnets and use a safer alternative. Have a plan in place just in case these snap back together, shatter, and injure you. Wearing safety goggles and work gloves is a must while handling these. They may be small, but the force they exert isn't anything to mess around with. I am using one of these for correct alignment in a blind zone in a construction project and I'm pairing it with a couple of much smaller neodymium magnets that I have on hand. One of these bigger magnets is enough to pull the smaller magnets around but with far less combined force than using both of the big magnets. NOTE: Combining magnets like these will increase the gauss rating. So if you need an even more powerful (and dangerous) magnet, just combine 2 or 3 of these 1" cubes in sequence. At some point, though, it becomes much safer to use electromagnets where the magnetic force can be turned on and off. Stay safe and out of the hospital! Docked one star because none of the instructions provided in the description on Amazon nor the e-mail from the seller include the basic safe handling tips I gave above. The instructions just say that these magnets are dangerous, what the dangers are, to wear safety equipment, and that these are classified by the FAA as a hazardous material thus requiring ground shipping. While I know how to handle these magnets safely, I see a lot of the 1-star reviews revealing that users are having accidents right out of the box. The seller would do well to include all of the safe handling tips above -somewhere-. There is nothing in the box but the two magnets, their plastic separators, and bubble wrap. You are expected to know what to do. Since the seller already sends a separate e-mail, the simplest solution would be to include the safe handling tips in the e-mail itself - which would cost them nothing extra to do and simultaneously reduce their legal liability.

Wow. So strong. Perfect for our LEGO creation. We used it to hold our “arms” onto our huge build. Yes, it was on an axle but we needed additional strength to hold the weight and build them into the structure. Perfect! Bought 4 - 2 sets for each side

I am honestly scared of these things, they are so strong.

I got them for my class because we work with magnets in second grade and they are the STRONGEST magnets I have ever seen. DO NOT let them get stuck together, it's almost impossible to separate them once they get stuck together, and it did chip and crack them when they initially got stuck together (the person who did it bought me another pair). Anyways, if you do get them stuck together, place one side on a flat surface like a table and let the other side hang over they edge and then push with all your might and weight to slide one down while the other stays in place. I'm 190 pounds and it took all my strength and weight, so just beware. Other than that these things are awesome and the students love how strong they are!
