It works!
Updated 10-1-23 (Changes made to Nos. 1, 4, 7, 12, 13, 15, & 17) This product works. After watching Smitha Deepak's video on YouTube called, "How & why to use lid tape if you have hooded eyes" I decided to try these because she recommended them. Her video is excellent because she provides step-by-step instructions with close-up images on how she applies the tape. She has other videos that address the placement of eyelid tapes. I've been using these tapes every day for about a year and have additional tips that I want to share with others as they navigate through the learning curve. 1. Preparation: Fill the spray bottle cap with water. Have two tweezers on hand, a facial tissue or square from a toilet paper, and something to use as a fan like a piece of stiff cardboard. 2. How to remove the tape from the white backing: Use the sticky rectangular pieces that are labeled "OPEN" and included with the product to separate the clear cover from the tapes. I press the OPEN tape onto the edge of the clear cover then pull up to unpeel it from the tapes. Once the tapes are exposed, there's no need to pick at the end of the tape to try a remove it from the white backing. This could put a crease on the end of the tape or otherwise damage it. I simply roll the white backing away from the tapes and with a little coaxing, the tapes begin to lift up from the white backing. 3. The first thing I do is apply eyeliner. 4. Prepping my eyelid: As shown in Smitha's video, I apply a LIGHT layer of concealer to my entire eyelid (I use Revlon Color Stay concealer 030 Light Medium). She uses a brush; I use a damp make-up sponge. Use sparingly as too much may prevent the tape from adhering to your eyelid. 5. Next I apply a thin layer of powder shadow only to the eyelid fold area (I use Maybelline Shadow 30). The reason I chose these two colors (concealer & shadow) is because they match the color of the tape and help camouflage it. Use the powder shadow or loose powder VERY sparingly. I found if I use too much, the tape doesn't adhere very well and starts to peel away from my skin by the end of the day. This powder shadow application is optional. 6. I apply a thin layer of loose powder to the rest of my upper eyelid to prevent the concealer from settling into the eyelid crease/fold (I use Cover Girl Clean Professional Loose Powder 110 Translucent Light). 7. Picking up the tape. As referenced in No. 2 above, I roll the white backing over itself and the tape will pop up. I don't use my fingers to pick up the tape to avoid transferring oils onto it. I used to use a tweezer to grab the end of the tape before spraying it with water but found the tweezers blocked the water from saturating one of the most important parts of the tape; the ends. Instead, I now use two tweezers. One to pick up the tape (right hand) at the end and the second one (left hand) to grab a teeny part of the bottom of the tape in the middle. I avoid covering too much of the tape with the second tweezers to ensure the water hits the tape. 8. While still holding the tape with my left hand, I spray the tape with water once on each side at a distance of 3" away. 9. Using my right hand, I grab the other tweezers and dip the ends into the water contained in the spray bottle cap. 10. Using my right hand, I grab the end of the tape and release my left grip. Try not to squeeze too hard because the tape will adhere to the tweezers and make it harder to release the tape once you place it on your eyelid. 11. Tape placement. The tape placement varies from person to person. For me, I place the entire tape directly ON TOP of my eyelid fold/crease. I don't place it too close to the right or left side of my eye. I've seen videos that suggest placing the tape where you want the most eyelid lift (e.g., placing it closer to the outer edge of your eye). This doesn't work for me because it not only doesn't give me the lift I need but by the end of the day, the tape separates from my eyelid at the outer end. I found the best tape placement for me is directly on top of my eyelid crease/fold and, if anything, a smidgen closer to my nose. I also made the mistake once of placing the BOTTOM edge of the tape directly on the eyelid fold/crease. That did nothing to help lift my hooded eyelid. 12. Once the tape is on my eyelid, I use the moistened tip of my tweezers to g-e-n-t-l-y tap-tap the tape wherever it appears to not be sticking to my eyelid. I can tell it may not be sticking because the tape hasn't become "invisible". I then take a toilet paper square, fold it in half, then use the folded part to l-i-g-h-t-l-y glide across the tape to absorb any excess water. A cotton swab doesn't work because sometimes the fibers get stuck to the tape. I then use a piece of cardboard to fan my eyelid for about 30 seconds to speed up the drying process. WAIT until the water has completely evaporated from the eyelid before fully opening your eye otherwise the tape may stick to parts of your eyelid where you don't want it to stick. I then use a blending brush & thoroughly immerse the end into loose powder (I use Cover Girl CleanProfessional Loose Powder 110 Translucent Light) and then I g-e-n-t-l-y tap-tap some loose powder onto the tape and above the tape. This helps prevent the sticky tape from adhering to parts of my eyelid where I don't want it to stick once I fully open my eye. 13. Second eyelid. Before I begin working on the second eye, I make sure both tweezers are dry before picking up the second tape. I repeat the same steps used for the first eyelid. At this point, I pick off any glue residue that may have stuck to the ends of the brush and use the white pick that comes with the product to comb through the brush to remove any excess powder that remains. 14. Once the second tape is applied, I continue with the rest of my makeup and don't fuss with the tape. What I'm trying to accomplish here is to allow any remaining moisture to evaporate. The fewer times I touch the tape the more likely it will attach to my eyelid. 15. I've found that soon after I place the tapes on my eyelids, my eyelid isn't quite the way I want it to fold. However, by the time I finish the rest of my makeup, the new eyelid fold eventually finds its natural crease without any more intervention from me. 16. The tape stays in place for me all day; at least 15 hours. 17. Just a final note: The fewer times you touch the tape the better. In an emergency, I might add a tiny dab of clear liquid eyelash glue to the parts of the tape (such as the ends) that are peeling away from my skin. Also, I keep a small brush and powder in my handbag especially on hot days when I might perspire more and cause the tape to loosen due to the excess moisture that may have collected on my eyelid. I hope these tips help. Good luck!

Poorly designed trash
1. Removed the strips from the sealed package is a chore in itself. This product comes with a few "seal removers" where are basically stickers. The idea is you use the stickers to pull the seal off and access the strips. Stickers don't work as intended. 2. Removing the strips from the package takes off a considerable amount of adhesion. Trying to apply these is very annoying, because every strip has about 50% of its total adhesion by the time you remove it. I attritubte this flaw to the nature of the pliers. 3. Because of point #2 these strips have basically no adhesion by the time you put them on your eye lid. I was so frustrated about how much time I wasted on these pieces of junk, thinking that it was my technique, when in reality it was the fact that removing them takes off so much adhesion. I have already used up about 50-60 strips in an attempt to get these to work. So far i've only applied 2 since i've had these in my possession. awful awful product.

Use clear, waterproof eyelash glue for best results!
(Review from wife) I’ve seen a lot of reviews (not just from this brand) about the adhesive coming off as you peel off the mesh strip and the glue staying on the plastic sheet holder you peel it off from instead of staying on the mesh strip. I usually use black eyelash glue for my eyelash strips, but had a free clear glue sample that came with some eyelash strips I bought and decided to try dabbing a little bit of clear eyelash glue on the mesh strip, and surprisingly it really did work well! I’m actually leaving this review for that same reason, I just bought clear waterproof eyelash glue and will try the eyelid mesh strip with it. I haven’t tried other brands or sizes yet but I felt the large size in this brand was perfect for me, I have a small scar right on one of the outer corners of one of my eyes, which makes that eye look “normal” and the other look hooded and just use mesh strip on the hooded eyelid to even out the look. If you place it right, you might feel it just a little bit but it’s not uncomfortable to wear I thinks it’s pretty lightweight actually, kinda like when you wear lash strips, you know it’s there but it isn’t entirely uncomfortable. As for how it blends/appearance , I think the placement and glue have a lot to do with it. I found that if I look down into a mirror, find my natural eye crease, and lay the mesh strip right at edge of eye crease, it will dry well and will almost be invisible, still a little tiny bit visible but not in a noticeably distracting way. It’s when I lay it ON a fold/crease or when glue starts to crack off or when I sweat or stretch/move the skin around it that it starts to lift and then becomes more noticeable and uncomfortable. I’m giving this product a 3.5 because I feel the value, comfort and appearance is reasonable and the product purpose is fulfilled once the adhesion issue is resolved. The only big issue for me is the adhesive, the appearance and product purpose fulfillment largely relies on the adhesion in my opinion. But the value for the money is fair, they did a big part of it already , which was provide a reasonable quality, comfortable flexible material, cut out at the perfect size but giving it a 3.5 because packaging is labeled as waterproof water activated glue and I had to figure all the glue stuff out the hard way lol.. Honestly, it’s kinda like when I buy lash strips, I just need to take care of choosing an adhesive that suits my preference, the glue the lashes use for the packaging also isn’t enough for a day wear, it’s only enough for packaging. Hope this review helps someone because the mesh strips themselves really help with confidence overall, the biggest issue was the adhesive.

Good! But not great -- yet!
Ok. I just got these and played with them for about an hour. I am very experienced at using lid tapes as I've been using a different brand for YEARS - at least 5 years. The brand I use is a DOUBLE-sided adhesive kind, and those work extremely well as they literally disappear into your eyelid and cannot be seen. However, they don't give me quite the lift I would like, and they are quite rough on your sensitive eyelid skin. Esp if you wear them multiple days in a row. Taking old ones off and putting on new next day can really start to irritate your skin. So I wanted to try a mesh-type tape. I read reviews for tons of the mesh type. I was bummed that they all seem to be one-sided adhesive tapes. Why!? Oh, why? The double-sided work SO much better and actually disappear as they pull your excess skin into the crease. But the reviews on this one seemed good, so I gave it a shot. After 1 hour of experimentation, I've noticed a few things. First, these are SO much easier on my eyelid skin! OMG. SOOO much less irritating to remove. Those double-sided tapes can get stiff and the odd crease they can sometimes leave can become noticeable if you wear them for hours or don't place them perfectly. So the fact that these are so flexible and so much softer on your skin is a BIG plus. And, these tapes are far, far LESS visible than I expected them to be. I honestly thought these were going to be quite visible, and that would be a deal breaker for me. The single-sided adhesive ones are usually visible and made me very skeptical. But these really do all but disappear! I mean, if someone looks really, really closely and is specifically looking for the tape - they'd probably be able to make it out. But they'd almost need a magnifying glass. I don't know how they blend so well, but they do! Second big PLUS. However -- they do not give me as good of an eyelid as the double-sided adhesive ones I use. THAT IS A BUMMER. They do make a little difference, but not enough to make me very happy. Hm. I played with placement for a full hour. And I'm already good at this! But the best I could do was use two tapes piled on top of each other to get a noticeable difference. Sigh. I am still hopeful. I will play with them more and write an update when I figure out if there is a better placement that I somehow failed to think of. But for now, they are very comfy and I will wear them on days I don't care as much. But when I go out and care about what I look like, I will use the old ones unless and until I can figure out how to get these to give me more of a lift. P.S.!!! Ok, so yesterday, I tried again. SO much better!!! That is the picture you see - my 2nd try. First tip, do not use the tweezers to try to lift the end of the tape off the backing it comes on. Instead, bend the backing sheet back n forth a bit, and the end will pop right up!!! This was a game-changer, as it saved the "ever so important" ends from damage. (Damaging the ends can make them visible after some hours.) Then, I place mine right in the middle of my eye (a little higher up and into the crease than my first attempt) and then work my way out to the sides, smoothing out excess water over the tape as I press it gently into place with the wand. But you have to be patient and WAIT until the water is all dry before opening your eye up. I noticed that if you open your eye right away, the tape is still wet and more bendy and you get a weird or no double lid. I kept my eye closed and sat in front of a small fan to let it completely dry (harden a bit) before I opened my eye and used the "fork" instrument to gently push my eyelid back. OMG!!! That is a game-changer. Now, I really love them. Now that I've figured out how to place them and wait for them to dry, they give me an even bigger lid than the old ones I spoke of earlier in the review! And I cannot get over how invisible they are!!! They're so much easier on my skin. Another pro tip: if the ends dry out and become visible throughout the day, it's easy to use the wand or something similar to just put a tiny drop of water under the lifted part. Gently press down and wait for the water to dry. Poof! It sticks and is invisible again. Bottom line: it takes practice! If you are impatient, you'll probably write a review and say that these are trash. If you are motivated to get that eye lift w/o surgery -- you must be patient and play with these. You will figure out how to properly place them, and they will make a big difference in how you look! These are my new favorites, for sure!!! I'm SOLD! I will be stocking up on these babies. I'll include a pic (of my eyes after my 2nd attempt) so you can see the difference in my eyes. Not a good pic, took it in a hurry. After makeup, looks even better!!!

Not for me
I have very hooded eyes, and I was really excited to try these, but they're just not for me. First, they were a bit visible when I wore them, I don't really wear much eye make up, so maybe that's why. Anyone withing arms reach of me would be able to see I had something on my eye lid. They may not have been able to tell what exactly, but it would be obvious there was something. Second, I could FEEEEEL them constantly. I was hoping the feeling would go away with time and tried to wear them around the house but it just felt like I had something sticky and heavy on my eye lid. I am fairly sensitive to feeling sticky, and am constantly washing my hands anytime I feel even the slightest bit sticky, so maybe it's a me problem, but if you have any sort of sensory sensitivities at all, you may have the same issue I did. Between the discomfort of feeling them on my eyelid and the fact that they weren't totally invisible, I think they're just not for me. I returned them with no problems and got a full refund, so I recommend you get them and try them to see if they work for you.

Best one I’ve tried
Don’t listen to the bad reviews. I swear it’s because people just don’t know how to use this product. I’ve literally bought dozens of kid tapes (double and single sided) and this is by far the best. The mesh makes it basically invisible when you put it on. Because the adhesive is activated with water, then it dries down, it doesn’t pull or lift up during the day in the way the plastic-y glue adhesive ones that inevitably get covered in oil, powered and make up, and peel off. Just spritz a little water, place it where you want it to go, let it dry and you’re done. Easy.

First time I've been disappointed with the product
I'm writing this review in hopes that the company will contact me I just opened this package yesterday and I have gone through four sheets trying to get the eye lifts off in one piece they are tearing in multiple pieces I realize I am a couple days past the return time but I've also bought these on several different occasions and I do enjoy them but this batch has been faulty from the start I don't know if there's anything in the company would be willing to do to assist me in this matter I realize it's my fault I just opened them but I didn't need them until just recently like yesterday as I finally used the last of my previous order so again I'm they're tearing off and bits and pieces instead of completely. I'm not sure why but every time I try to take a picture of them it won't let me do it I'll try again again overall these are really great product but this batch has been nothing but a pain in the butt I wish I had opened them sooner but since I didn't need them until just now because the other ones finally got used up I'm kind of stuck with an entire batch that seems faulty I'm hoping the company will help out. I will continue to hold on to the faulty sheets since my phone doesn't want to allow me to submit a picture
