Sure tou cab, but since it's just one big compartment, the bottles will lay over and be in a jumble, unless you put some sort of foam or cardboard dividers - like the inter-locking bottle separators in a case of wine. Wouldn't be too hard to make.

Yes, with ease. It will probably hold 150 -200. Probably has the capacity of 3 or 4 pencil cases of the size I had in elementary school.
