Treatment still ongoing but Results after just one capsule!
Like many women submitting reviews here, I was diagnosed with BV and prescribed antibiotics, but let me give some history so as to give a clearer picture of my ongoing journey. I will try to make it somewhat brief but cover what I have found in my own research. I am not a medical doctor so let me be clear that this is simply me sharing my experience. I am 50 years old and peri-menopausal with an active sex life with my husband and am very healthy. I exercise regularly, eat extremely healthfully, get regular check ups and am a non-smoker. I have had 2 children and had a copper IUD for 7 years before having to remove it due to unexplained bleeding that stopped immediately upon removal of the IUD. I have always been a person with a decent amount of vaginal discharge, but never with odor or anything out of the ordinary. In the past couple of years, I have noticed that there was a distinct odor to my discharge on and off. I once forgot to remove my menstrual cup for a day and a half and figured it may have been the culprit, as the odor often went away for long periods of time, always to come back again. More recently, I had noted that the odor had returned and was stronger (not exactly fishy as many women report but definitely not pleasant) I went to my gyn for a routine swab and they found evidence of BV. I had never been diagnosed with this before so I was truly put off and not thrilled about taking oral antibiotics, but I did as I was instructed, taking care to up my daily intake of probiotics to twice daily, two different types to be certain I didn't get a yeast infection as well. About a week after finishing my 7 day course, I started my menstrual cycle and after the first day, the smell was back stronger than ever and lasted even after my period ended. I went back to the gyn and they tested my for the same things again, plus urea plasma. I came back positive on both and was given 2 antibiotics, one for BV and the other for ureaplasma! My feelings on antibiotics is that we have totally abused them and are the main cause of their increasing ineffectiveness, so I decided to do some research. I spent hours reading medical studies and women's accounts of their BV/ureaplasma cases. I read hundreds of doctor's reports and lab results and kept seeing the same antibiotics regimen and recurrence of the BV, even with increased probiotic supplementation, not washing with soap, abstaining from sex, not douching etc, etc, etc that doctors advised, mine included. I also read hundreds of accounts of women getting relief and less recurrence by using boric acid suppositories. I then came across a study in California by a bio-tech company that is in it's second phase of a study based on the natural flora (probiotics) present in women's vaginas and a strain that they have found to be extremely promising in helping the battle against BV, which creates a "biofilm" on the inside of our vaginas. This biofilm is more permeable than our usual mucosal coating and allows other pathogens to pass though. Our vaginas need to be at a Ph of between 3.5-4.5 and if they are not, we become open to infection and overgrowth of certain flora within the microbiome, and this can lead to BV and other problems. If you know anything about antibiotics, they kill ALL the organisms, the good and the bad so we are left depleted and again, open to the overgrowth of certain strains, plus any bacteria that might be introduced. Here is where the boric acid comes in. Although the study in California didn't mention boric acid in their process, I combined the fact that there are an overwhelmingly large number of women who have had amazing results using boric acid to help balance their vaginal Ph, with the universal antibiotic recommendation (virtually all the tests state that metronizadole has the best results) and concluded that if I were to finish the course of antibiotics along with the boric acid suppositories to help bring my vaginal Ph back into balance, then complete the treatment with the strain of flora that is currently being researched for treatment in the medical world, maybe I could use myself as a guinea pig and see what the results would be. Unfortunately, I have not found the strain they use (L. crispatus) available on the market in the amount they are using in the tests, however I have found it in smaller amounts. The other strains that are mentioned over and over as being specific to the vaginal microbiome are are L. rhamnosus and L. reuteri, There are others, to be sure, but these ones are mentioned most frequently associated with studies specific to BV. Currently, I am finishing my 3rd antibiotic (second time on metronyzadole) and on my 5th day of nightly boric acid suppository use. I have had no discomfort whatsoever using them and from the first morning after use, there has been absolutely no odor. I plan to use the boric acid for 2 more nights, finishing up with the last day of my antibiotics and then begin a regimen of probiotic suppositories, containing as many of the above mentioned flora as I can find. Additionally, I continue to take my daily oral probiotics as well, hoping that some of these will take up residence in my own microbiome and help keep my Ph balanced naturally and keep off the antibiotics for good. Since this self-imposed project is still ongoing, I will do my best to post a follow up account of what happened as I go along. It is my hope that my story can help others ask questions and do their own diligence as many, many other women who have written/spoken about their experiences have helped me.

Helped Me Feel Balanced and Comfortable
I decided to try the pH-D Feminine Health 600 mg Boric Acid Suppositories after hearing about them from friends and doing my own research. Overall, my experience has been very positive. The product arrived well-packaged, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow, which I appreciated since this was my first time using a product like this. The capsules are easy to use, and I like that they are individually sealed for freshness and convenience. After using them as directed, I noticed that I felt more balanced and comfortable. The product worked gently without causing irritation or discomfort, which was one of my main concerns. It’s reassuring to use something that feels effective while still being mild and easy on the body. I also appreciate that this product is free from unnecessary fragrances and harsh additives. It feels like a straightforward, no-nonsense option for maintaining feminine freshness and balance as part of a self-care routine. This is especially helpful during times when your body feels slightly off due to lifestyle changes, stress, or hormonal shifts. Overall, I’m happy with the quality and effectiveness of this product and would consider purchasing it again. It’s a simple, affordable option for women looking to support their feminine wellness routine with a product that’s easy to use and thoughtfully made. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, well-reviewed option for maintaining personal comfort and balance.

PH Balancing…Amazing!
Got this for a friend who was suffering from B.V. She was sensitive to her husbands “stuff”, causing a too alkaline environment… the female interior is the acidity of a tomato, so too much alkaline can cause some woman to have increased bad bacteria. This was a constant frustration for her, and I was on a mission to help her find something to alleviate her issues. Antibiotics, teatree/coconut oil suppositories, apple cider vinagar sits bath etc. She found with 100 billion, 34 strain probiotic, elimination of sugar, and Day after intercourse in PM, she put this suppository in, along w a this pad in lining and the following day, her scent was normal n aching was gone. Fyi, bleeding apparently is something she noticed after she started peri-menopause. It shouldnt happen all the time, but she said sometimes she is sensitive. We wanted to share this! Hope this helps! My friend was embarrassed to share but we both felt this was impt to share!

Re-purchased Product
It works for me. I've been using this product for a little over a year now and it works well for me. No odors or dryness. No yeast issues or BV when having gyno checks.

Read this review if you’re desperate for a cure
1. Insert a boric acid capsule after showering before bed every day for one week, every two days the following week, and every third day for the last week. 2. Drink a gallon of water every day for 3 weeks 3. Drink 2 cups of cranberry juice every day (the tart stuff, not juice cocktail). 4. Avoid and any forms of douching (even if it’s water only or mixed with peroxide) just don’t! This won’t work if you douche 5. Take a daily probiotic (I recommend rephresh. It works better than all of the overpriced ones.) It does NOT require refrigeration. 6. Avoid sugar as much as possible. Sugar is in a lot of food items that aren’t necessarily sweet. You have to practically eliminate it all together for at least three weeks for this method to work. 7. Wash your inner labia with water only. Use your fingers. (I use white dove to wash the area where hair grows, but do NOT get any form of soap near the opening of your “flower”). Do not spread the “smile” to wash it with soap. YOU WILL STILL BE CLEAN IF YOU DO THIS! Trust me. 8. Eat as clean as possible for at least 3 weeks (no dairy, sweets, or foods with high fat content). I suggest a plant based diet for a duration of 3 weeks. 9. No alcoholic beverages of any kind for 3 weeks. 10. Avoid being intimate for the first week (7 full days). I know 3 weeks will be impractical if you have a boyfriend/husband. Because of this I advise you to abstain the first week and use protection during the second and third weeks. You’re PH is directly related to the food and beverages you consume. Chronic infections are linked to your diet. Even women with a healthy diet can be effected. If you’re someone who eats healthy, and still suffer from recurrent infections, you’ll have to eliminate different parts of your diet to find out what’s triggering them. Start with elimination meat and dairy for 2 weeks to see if you notice a change. The boric acid will aid in reducing symptoms but you will have used them in conjunction with the steps above to see permanent results. All of the steps are crucial but the two most important steps are drinking the gallon of water daily and reducing your sugar intake dramatically! The water will flush your system. Bacteria and yeast thrive off of sugar so it’s best to avoid it as much as possible during the three week recovery period. Maintenance: After 3 weeks your PH will be back to a normal level. You will have no foul odors or itching. Discharge is NORMAL. You should still notice some discharge as it is our body’s way of cleansing itself, but it should be odorless, not clumpy, and not too excessive. Color can range from clear to whitish during different stages of your cycle. You should continue drinking plenty of water after the three weeks recovery period. I recommend at least 64 ounces daily. Try to drink 1 cup of cranberry juice 3 times a week. Continue a low sugar diet. I don’t expect you to never have sugar again, but keep it to a minimum especially around the time of your period. Have your mate withdraw during climax as much as possible. It’s good practice to insert a suppository after being intimate during the first few weeks after the three week recovery period as well as after your period ends. I know that was a lot to read but you won’t regret it if you take my advice.

Highly recommend - Here are some helpful things to know
These worked great. I used one suppository two nights in a row. After the first night, most of the odor was gone. After the second night, it was a little better, but I started feeling the urge to pee even right after peeing and started to feel very very slight discomfort inside my vaginal area. I researched it and found that these are normal symptoms, likely signs of slight irritation, and it would go away in 24-48 hours; I didn't use any more suppositories during that time. The third day, those symptoms were gone, but I had a different odor that was pretty strong but smelled tangy. I read that this is also normal and is a sign that my ph levels were stabilizing. I gave it another two days without suppositories, and the tangy odor disappeared. It's been three or four days now since I used any, and I don't have any odor anymore, for the first time in a long time. All it took was two suppositories. I share all of this so other women can know that these things are normal and either signs of slight irritation—so you know to maybe skip a night or two—or signs that the suppositories are working. I think it's especially helpful to know that the tangy odor is a sign that the ph is stabilizing, because I initially was worried that I had a whole new problem to deal with and was worried. I felt a lot better knowing it was normal and a good sign, and wished I had known to expect it. I would recommend if you're someone who is sensitive in that area to use one suppository the first night, skip the second night, and use another one the third night and monitor how you feel and how your odor is. Then you can go from there. These are definitely worth a try, especially if odor has affected your confidence like it had mine.

WHY WHY WHY???
If someone had only told me 30 years ago that boric acid would cure yeast infections, I would have saved thousands of dollars on doctor's appointments and medications!! I must say I was skeptical, as I tend to be with many "natural" remedies. Some work and some don't. Most are not as effective as prescription medications, but also don't carry the same risks. But over the last two years, I have had multiple yeast infections in addition to oral thrush, which I believe is related to being in perimenopause. They have all occurred after needing an antibiotic, and then BOOM - 3 days later I'm hit with thrush AND vaginal yeast infections. Talk about a double whammy, and ridiculously embarrassing. I've been prescribed several different types of medications, usually of the monistat variety, and other things for the oral thrush. Some have worked and some haven't. The oral thrush has been exceedingly stubborn. A few months ago, I was given a course of antibiotics and I thought, "here we go again ..." as I'm sure many women feel the same way about this issue. I decided to try the advice of one of my nurse practitioner's and buy some probiotics, which I took faithfully for months. Nada .... the thrush improved slightly, but the yeast infection only continued to get worse and worse. Fortunately, no itching and burning with this, just the horrific, nasty cottage cheese discharge constantly, so much so that I had to wear tampons daily! (I know, way TMI, but stay with me ...) I didn't even want to consider having sex with my BF, as I was mortified at the thought of it. Then I read somewhere that boric acid suppositories worked miracles for yeast infections! I thought, what the heck, as I had just been prescribed Diflucan (oral) and read that some people become very ill after taking it. I didn't even want to try it! So I decided to go the natural route before attempting another awful prescription drug. Well BOO to the YAH!!! After THREE suppositories (1 the first night to see how I tolerated it, then 1 the next night and 1 this morning) - ZERO discharge! GONE! SHAZAM!! ABRACADABRA!! Needless to say, I was incredulous!! I will continue taking the suppositories as prescribed for the next week, just to be sure I have everything back in balance. Now, in all fairness, in my multitudinous research, I discovered that I can go to a compounding pharmacy, and ask for boric acid, and purchase empty gelatin capsules to make my own suppositories for WAY less than the cost of pH-D. I will probably do that next time, for just a few dollars. But WHY WHY WHY aren't more young women told about this easy and cost effective way of dealing with the dreaded yeast infections??? Oh, let me guess ... because then doctors and BIG PHARMA wouldn't be making all that money on treating something that EVERY woman will get at some point in her life. This should be standard information for every young girl coming into puberty. Understandably, there are times when you cannot use this method, during pregnancy for example. But all women should have this tidbit of information in their arsenal. Shame on gynecologists and PCP's for not telling women about this time-tested solution. However, I WAS told to insert plain yogurt into my vagina, a method that may or may not work for some, but .... ewwwwwww!!! Now, on to the oral thrush. I've read that gargling with Apple Cider Vinegar and putting a few drops of essential lavender oil on my toothpaste while brushing should do the trick. No Diflucan for me if I can help it!! BUY THIS STUFF NOW, or go to your pharmacy for the powder and gelatin capsules if you're a little adventurous and would like to save a few bank!

It works, works fast, easy to use
I bought this a bit ago, always have had a sensitive …(V) anything can set off my PH balance to soaps laundry detergent my monthly etc long story short I decided to use this yesterday night I woke up and all my symptoms were gone. I did a bit of research and it says to take this once a day at bedtime and to insert it far up there so you don’t experience irritation from the borax take for 14 days, this being the first day of using them and I already feel back to normal. It works and it works fast, I haven’t experienced any burning or irritation from it so far but it will make things a little messy so wear a liner or pad. 100/100 will be using this only if anything throws it off again.
