There are a lot of solar lights out there - I needed one that was over the driveway entry to my garage. It really would be something that would become part of the architecture of the garage. This is the most attractive light out there, it cast the perfect amount of light and the motion sensitivity is perfect as one approaches the garage. I use it off, and it comes on at night only when there is motion in front of the garage door. The odd large racoon has set it off and then run because they aren't fans of bright light. You can adjust it to be dim light and then get brighter as there is motion in the zone. It lasts forever, and I like that, well I can reach it from the ground, but I can switch it to ON if I need the light for a prolonged period ... you know like if you drop your keys leaving the garage lol. The SELLER is AMAZING. Communicates in no time and stands behind the product and answers questions right away. I you want something the looks like it is wired, and not a cheap solar light fixture - this is your LIGHT!

Decent little light. Looks to be well enough made. This is more of a light the path safety light than a GET OUT OF OUR YARD security light. It's as bright as expected for the size and price, but I don't expect it to chase any thieves away, just make it easier for them to see what they're doing. INSTALLATION WARNING - It's not square, or mine wasn't. I used a level on the top and put the two screws in. Came down off the ladder and it was clearly crooked? Turns out the bottom isn't square with the top. Since you see the bottom, use the level on the bottom because you can't move it a little bit without hitting the same holes.

At first I did not care for the design - sleek and diminutive but a little too modernistic for my building. I am replacing a paintable ceramic light, painted to match my brick such that the fixture sort of disappeared and you only notice the light. The circuit is dead/broken so I needed solar, which has greatly limited my options. Even though this one is white, it is pretty small and not that noticeable, so overall the functionality of it overrides the appearance. I have been operating the light on "strong light sensor mode" (middle option) and it does a great job of lighting my porch stairs and walking path as soon as I open the storm door. Its nice and bright, catches motion from as much as 50 feet away, and the battery can last through at least one dark rainy day of no charging. After two dark rainy days, it eventually loses the charge and has to be turned on for use after it gets a good re-charging. This is not at all unreasonable, and I am VERY PLEASED. I highly recommend this light. Do install it within reach so the controls are easily accessible to reset it after dark days. Also note it is intended to attach to a blank surface, so if you are installing it over an electrical box to replace a wired light as I am, it takes a little ingenuity to attach it so that the in-wall box is fully covered and the light is level; I also used a little weatherstrip around the edges of the light such that screwing it fast compressed the weatherstrip to make the space under it fairly weatherproof.

I installed this light on the end of my car port for added lighting and security. I have had it installed for 2 months now and I am very satisfied with the light. It is mounted on the east side of the car port and probably receives 5-6 hours of direct sunlight each day. I am using it in motion only mode so I am not able to say how long it will last in the other modes but in this mode it comes on every time. It is mounted about 11 ft high and is about 10 ft from the street. The motion sensor will turn on the light when a car drives by, as I pull into the drive way, and when someone walks by on the sidewalk. The motion sensor picks up a persons movement at about 12 ft away. The motion sensor seems to be quite sensitive which I really like as I want passerby's to know and see that I have additional security lighting for my vehicles. Adding this light really improved the video capture ability of my older DVR security cameras. Update - After being installed for 1 year the light still works great. I did find that due to where I have them installed they get less sunlight during the mid winter months and do not fully charge to work all night but that is expected due to where I have them installed. They work all night during the Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Had bought 4 of these before, no issues with them good quality worked as expected. This order was a back ordered one and it was crap right of the box. Still give it three stars.

This solar light does everything it claims to do. This is a very nice solar light with a big solar panel and a large capacity battery. It is bright enough to replace my former wired outdoor light, and it is sensitive enough that when you approach it, it turns on right away without your having to wave your arms in front of it. I live in the Northeast where the sun is low in Winter and there are also trees. So, I use it in Mode 2 where it turns on with motion at full brightness, and it stays off the rest of the time. This means all of the sunlight goes to charge the battery and there is plenty of light when motion is detected. Here is the trick you need to know. There is a black button on the front for setting modes. The unit is shipped in the OFF setting. Charge the unit by letting it sit in bright sunlight for a few hours. Then, take it to a DARK ROOM. The Mode button will ONLY function when the unit is in darkness! The diffuse white filter over the LEDs serves to distribute the light evenly, so there is plenty of light to the sides, as well as directly underneath. I will probably buy more of these!

UPDATE: THIS PRODUCT IS A RIP-OFF. VERY DISAPPOINTED. At first I like this thing. Then it died. Now it's useless. Lasted about five months. For the life of me I can't figure out what the warranty is. I follow the bouncing ball from one page to the next and I end up where I started. The design for planned obsolescence worked a little too well. This is like stealing. EARLIER REVIEW, BEFORE I KNEW THE TRUTH. I've had this for just a few weeks so I can't speak to its longevity, but it worked straight out of the box. I first experimented with it in my bathroom, turning the light on and off. Worked every time. When triggered it stays on for about 20-30 seconds (I should just time it but I'm lazy and it's day time now) and it lights up an area brightly of roughly 20 feet out (though difficult for me to measure exactly) though it's the perfect amount of time and light for my needs. It will work reliably as long as it gets sunlight. I first tried to mount it where the sun doesn't strike and it stopped working (duh). As soon as I moved it to where the sun hit it it was fine, and the sun only hits there for maybe an hour at the most, probably less. It has two keyhole shaped mounting holes on the back for the mounting hardware it came with. The screws are TINY though, so I chose to drill a new keyhole (just one in the middle) so I could use a bigger screw. So now, when it's dark, I can clearly see the door lock to let myself in right away, instead of fumbling forever in the dark and getting murdered. It mounts with two little screws - though I drilled a single, larger sized hole so I could use a larger sized screw head.)

I have had this item less than 3 months and it worked great for the first 2.5 months and now it doesn't. I am very disappointed - I carefully checked reviews as I needed something reliable. What a waste of money and time. Obviously had I known it was not going to last even 3 months, I would not have bought it. Buyer beware..... Update: While it is true that the light died after just 2 months, I contacted the seller which I probably should have done first, and they are graciously sending me another one as they are committed to providing good quality and excellent customer service. I have not yet received the new light nor do I know obviously how long it'll last but I am encouraged that this seller will make it right.
