My Favorite BBQ
This is a replacement for the first one I ordered which lasted many years. We BBQ once a week, 52 weeks a year and the Cuisinart is outside and covered. This is the best grill we've ever owned, cooks evenly and burgers come out excellent. Small, portable, sturdily made and looks nice. I use Coleman 1 pound (dark green, short, fat) propane canisters which last several months. Easy to clean, has a fat/grease trap that is easiy removed for cleaning. Nice big handle and has a latch for locking. Only downside, and maybe it's me, but as the unit gets older the spark lighter, even though it produces a spark, doesn't start the gas flame so I had to use regular matches or one of those electric matches to get the fire going. Get a cover for it and it'll last longer.

Quality and inexpensive (cheap)
I couldn't bring myself to spend $500 for a grill. I used to have a super old 3 burner weber that I got on craigslist for $20. I also couldn't spend $150 for junk. I love to grill so I'm in a bit of a conundrum. Until I found the great reviews on this grill. It seemed to have both quality (i.e. cast iron grill, Cuisinart name, automatic start, etc.) and a great price (~$125 customer return/amazon warehouse). It's small but I never used the whole grill surface in my old weber. Been grilling for several weeks now and this is what I've found: Good - heats quick to 550 in 5 -10 min. Old weber would take close to 20 to get so hot. - propane tank adaptor works well with full size tanks - used my own metal bakers rack as stand and zip tied grill to top to make stable - included vegetable tray works great/nice that they included it/high quality sheet metal - cleans up very nice - cooking is different than weber, since flame so close need to worry about flareups more b/c dripping will be on fire right under food - two sided grill plate works great for burgers, etc. - flame guard causes hot spots where there is no guard - not sure if I can do indirect but probably not - heat adjustment not proportional, low is probably all the way to the bottom and medium is very close to the bottom - one burner should be very fuel efficient, should be 3x longer on a tank than my 3 burner weber - biggest positive is I had it assembled in 5m (instructions bad)...all other grills had estimates of 1-2 hours to assemble at home or had to load in a truck fully assembled (also very heavy) Bad - biggest bad is that the sides are open and if there is a wind, it's hard to maintain a set temperature - other is not possible to do indirect - pizza is a challenge though it fits a 12" pizza stone Overall, very happy with purchase. I have a fuel efficient grill that does what I need it to do and didn't cost me a lot. I use it as my daily grill and have the option to take camping if I want to.

Excellent little grill - great company, too!
Two winters in a row, my large, "famous maker" grill got caught in high winds and crashed to the ground, face first. The second time was fatal, due to the high cost of replacement parts. After much research, I settled on this grill. I had prior experience with the Cuisinart name and liked their products, so I thought I'd give this a try. My prior grill was connected to our big propane tank, the primary purpose of which was to fuel our gas fireplace. I assumed I'd be able to do the same with this grill. After a very quick installation and test with an old propane camping cartridge, I decided to set about removing the supplied regulator to figure out what kind of adaptor I'd need to mate up with my big tank. Suffice it to say that things quickly went awry and I ended up damaging the saddle valve on the regulator assembly. To keep it short, let's just say that I was VERY impressed with their customer service. I was very up-front with them about my culpability, but they still sent me a replacement regulator - gratis - in two days! After a talk with my propane guy, he told me that I could use the customary external tank (smaller) with an adapter hose, which I did. The following weekend, I had an opportunity to cook several steaks and hamburgers for a family gathering. There was plenty of room on the grill for three large steaks and a couple of hamburgers at once. Suffice it to say that its cooking capacity is more than adequate for our usual requirements. The grill is very nicely designed. The two side panels, which swing in under the cover when not in use, swing out and mate with a couple of small supports that give them adequate rigidity for supporting the usual stuff you need to have nearby (plates of hamburgers, salt, pepper, utensils). The grill surface is a nice, one-piece design that is reversible. It has both flat and sharp-edged surfaces. The grill hood has a nice bar handle that stayed cool to the touch. I've gotten a good, dependable start from the igniter built into the knob/valve assembly each time I've fired it up. It does seem to take a bit longer than my previous grill (a 3-burner beast) to get up to temperature, but once it was hot, it was a great little performer. I'm very happy with my purchase - and with Cuisinart customer support.

A good, almost great grill with one flaw.
I've been down the portable grill road three times now. Having been snookered into $49.95 to $89.00 12000 btu wonders twice before ( I know shame on me ) Both of them ended up on the curb for some unlucky cruising pick-up truck driver, who no doubt figured that day was his lucky day. (jokes on them) I do hope however they didn't get sick from undercooked, zero grill mark food. Now onto this grills review. Simply, I'm impressed. No, it's not my full sized Weber, but I can't take my Weber with me. It was easy to assemble with just a few fiddly things but complete assembly took ten minutes with zero tools. It's reasonably sturdy with only a bit of tinny feel to it. Very stable on the fold up stand which I also purchased ( and recommend ). Screwed in a one pound propane can and turned the knob, started first try and each time there after. I now have it hooked to a standard 20# can and it still starts with one try. It will get to 500 degrees very quickly, less then ten minutes. I was admittedly skeptical of some of the reviews here that mentioned it's rapid heat up due to past experience but it's true, it'll get very hot very fast. It also loses that heat just as fast when you open the lid and the 12k burner takes a bit longer to recover but it's not to bad. The grill surface it's self is fairly heavy cast iron much better than some of the flimsy wire out there. The cooking time is a bit longer than typical due to the quick heat loss and slower recovery time but again, not bad at all. It's basically a mini full size grill and does a respectable job on anything you throw on it. Great flavors, good char marks, fairly easy clean up etc. It has a flaw however. All those reviews you read that mention how wind degrades it's performance, believe them. It doesn't take much of a breeze to turn the flame yellow and lower temperature 100 degrees with the lid open or closed. If you have to place it in a windy area like a breezeway or exposed deck area, might want to rethink getting this. It's enough of an issue to look elsewhere for a portable grill. I've been lucky and have a fairly protected place for it so give it 4 stars, if I didn't I'd probably only give it 2 it's effected that much.

The best gas grill hands down!
This grill is just awesome. I like to grill but I hate charcoal, it is just too messy and takes too long. So I decided to try a gas grill. I was looking for a medium size grill, and searching in Amazon.com I found this jewel! Let me tell you, I cannot be more happy. Basically you put a couple of screws to put them together out of the box and it's ready to be used! The size is perfect for our family of 4, but you can easily feed a group of 6-8 people. It turns on so easy, no lighters, no matches, or liquids. I adapted a 20 lbs propane gas with Freedom Grill FG-50HA Stainless Steel Propane Hose Adapter . Then I bought the stand Cuisinart Folding Grill Stand, the cover Cuisinart CGC-21 All Foods Gas Grill Cover, and finally Cuisinart 4-Piece Classic Grill Tool Set. Your wife will love you even more because everything matches! Yes, little bit expensive, but let me tell you, cuisinart offers an excellent quality. All the products are awesome! Anyways, the grill heats very fast, and love the fact that comes with the temperature gauge. Closing the lid, allows for a better and faster grill. On top of that, it came with $20 off coupon for Omaha Steaks. Now, this may or may not be a great thing, since the prices for the meat are really high, so we just ordered angus meat private reserve (fancy name), but the meet was sooo good. So far I have grilled meat, vegetables, sausage, and shrimp. Everything comes out perfect!!! Love it!..If you are looking for something on the small-to-medium (4-6 people) and portable...this is it!....forget any other brand!!!!

Great portable grill
I ordered this grill when I saw it being offered as the Deal of the Day. I purchased the stand, the hose adaptor for 20 lb. propane cylinder, as well as the grill cover. I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised with this grill. First of all, the major components come assembled, all that is required is to attach the grill to the frame(legs) and voila, you are pretty much ready to grill. The grill appears to be very well built, and the extra accessories I purchased fit perfectly and are easy to use. The foldable stand is very nice; however, I would ask people to exercise caution when setting it up, since you may get one of your fingers caught in between the moving parts (didn't happen to me, but I could definitely see the potential for injury). The cover is of good quality and it's also waterproof (at least water resistant where the water does not appear to penetrate). It was put to the test as soon as I received it, since it was sitting in my backyard for almost a week during which it constantly rained. Upon removing the cover, I was surprised to see my grill perfectly dry. The only drawback is that the cover only protects the grill, which leaves the optional stand uncovered, which I don't think is a big problem given the good quality of the stand. In regards to grilling, I can honestly say that this grill performed very well. The grilling surface is rather spacious, allowing one to cook a considerable amount of food. The heat is evenly distributed along the surface, allowing the user to maximize the cooking space. We are a family of four and this grill was able to accomodate enough food to satisfy our appetite. In regards to flare ups, I noticed that there were some , but they are common when the meat being cooked has relatively high fat content. I don't step away from the grill while I am using it, which helps me address the flare ups when they occur. Last but not least, cleaning the grill was relatively easy, the grate and the flame tamer are easily removable and can be cleaned in the sink, sice their size is manageable. The grease "cup" should be removed after every grilling session, since the capacity is limited (it's a portable grill after all). With the grate and tamer removed, the bottom of the grill is exposed, allowing you to clean the bottom of the grill easily. Overall, I would recommend this grill to those who want to have the convenience of portability. Also, the compact size is helpful for those who may have limited space. The relatively small size does not compromise capacity, which is very important to me. I was skeptical about buying this grill, but I am gla I made the decision. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Happy Holidays and Happy grilling!

I really like this grill because I finally found what I was ...
I really like this grill because I finally found what I was looking for. It has its own cons and pros, as probably everything else on the market. This grill ended my fairly long search for a decent small portable grill, so I finally settled on this one. I learned in the process of searching that the biggest issue with many small grills is the cooking temperature (never get hot enough to sear) - despite the fact all suppliers swear that they do. I give it five stars because it does work indeed - can sear a steak on high to make medium-rare, or I can smoothly bring the temperature down for brats, veggies, hamburgers, or chicken. It heats up very fast (5-7 minutes at the begining to bring it to 400 on high), and then after I load my food (still on high), and close the lid - it drops to 300, but gets back to 400 within a minute. I like the shelfs and the way thy fold in (very convenient), and the shelfs are fairly robust (can easily support a heavy plate full of steaks). Overall design - I like it, but not everything. I like the fact the lid is stainless steel, and the handle never gets hot - I can always open the lid with bare hand. The collecting tray on the bottom is conveniently positioned and can easily be cleaned, but its utility is very questionable. There are 4 holes on the bottom of the grill, and the tray is potioned in the middle barely covering two of the four. Most of the grease either hits the flame tamer or remains on the bottom which is flat . The stand is attached to the grill with four screws. I get loose every now and then because the screws are located on the inside of the grill and get very hot, but I tighten them every now and then and it works fine. Ignition starts every time I turn it on (hasn't failed yet). There was some weird plastic smell the first time I started the grill, but it was gone in 10 minutes and never reappeared.

Great grill!
It's perfect for our small balcony I bought the adaptor hose to use 20# propane bottles but have yet to use the adaptor, as the grill is very efficient and the small 1# containers last for quite a while. The grill is VERY hot so it takes some experimentation to find the right settings to cook with. Cleanup is easy and straightforward and the enameled steel grill is super easy to clean. The surface size of the grill is fairly small so choose your accessories carefully. Having said that, the grill is large enough to cook three or four steaks simultaneously. Love the portability!

Great little bbq!!!
For a small bbq it is an excellent choice, good finishing material, easy to move around, work s pretty good with any Bbq. I gave 4 starts because sometimes the automatic burner (push button ) doesn't work, and you need to carry a box of matches to save your Bbq....
