Great for slippery, treated lumber stairs.
These treads work great, especially on treated lumber stairs - where there is very little sun. Great traction for shoes, and I wouldn’t worry about pets. Pets will learn to step around them. The screw length is more than adequate for solid lumber.

They work!
I live in a mountain region so snow and ice are just part of it. The four steps from my driveway to my porch get beyond slick. Salting works but makes a huge mess. Only takes a second after going from these things to bare wood to realize they work greag. .. Only potential issue I see is you don’t want to get to aggressive with a snow shovel… Ordering two more packs.

Easy to install; grip very well!
Updated review after about a year of use: these are still holding up so very well! Nothing is showing bad wear, and they aren’t coming loose. They still look good. So happy with this purchase and they haven’t disappointed me!——-—-These Grip Strip treads are a hard plastic-like material, so don’t expect soft rubber material. They have nubbly bumps all over them that will help secure your footing—if you walk on them barefoot, it’s going to be a bit uncomfortable as they are a little sharp but when I put on my thinner flip-flops and tried them out, I didn’t feel a thing. My outdoor steps become super slippery and I’ve slipped on them twice in the last year and hurt myself, but when I tried adhesive strips that cost less, they peeled off rather quickly in our mountain weather of snow, ice, cold, warm, rain, and for me, a lot of trees and shade and droppings from trees.I did a lot of research and looking around for something better and these Grip Strips seem to be the answer. They aren’t cheap—for the size I received, they are about $54 for 8 of them, but worth every penny if they stop me from slipping on very slippery stairs, or someone else from doing so! And so far, so good.I put down two for each stair, just to be sure. They were very easy to install—went quite fast actually. They supply the screws. Just screw them in, then loosen the screws a little bit, and you are done. The tools we used are: hammer, Phillips head screw driver. That’s it.They look better installed than I thought, but had they been ugly I woudln't care—no more slipping and dang near breaking a leg or arm. My stairs don’t receive much sun at all, and they can become treacherous when it rains a lot. But, I’m also curious to see how they’ll do in ice/snow and I have confidence they’ll do great. It cost me $200 to do all the stairs, with two on each stair, but I think it’s worth it. There simply aren’t that many options out there for stair tread safety that are not adhesive, so I’m happy to have found these screw down treads.

Holding up well in cold weather
We installed the treads on a deck ramp. We live in Michigan and the ramp gets dangerously slick in the winter. The treads are working well and have not become brittle in zero conditions.

Installing
The packaging is compact, 8 straps plus black screws (Phillips head) were packaged in a continuous strip, each straps screws were individually wrapped, this made handling much better. The steps go be installed: 72" so two straps 64" allowed a nice coverage. Recommend not tightening end screws. Once placement is secure start on one end and begin tightening individual screws, working toward opposite end, this seems to allow for the straps to flatten better,in my experience. Shoe grip good. Winter shall be the acid test. Updates to follow.

No more Falls
After slipping on our back porch ramp and falling flat on my back (which required me visiting my chiropractor) I decided to invest in these non-skid strips. And let me tell you they do the trick. No more falls for me. As a side note you will not like walking across these barefoot. Been there, done that, once!
