Great Amp!
This is a great amp with easy to use DSP functions. Well supported by Yamaha and solid reliable performance.

Works great with my home theater av reciever.
Have this running the front L/R channels of my home theater system. I bought a outlet thats made to turn on a shop vac when you turn on a saw or other tool. Works great.

Wouldn't turn on
The media could not be loaded. I'm replacing some audio components and I purposefully went for the more expensive Yamaha (well more than the Rockvilles, Behringers and other budget brands) and, just my luck, the thing won't power on, or at least stay on for more than a split second. Also not convinced it was a new item. There were a couple of marks on the top, one of which looked like a ring from a soda canAmazon quickly facilitated a return, so that was good, but still extremely aggravating.

Excellent Amp. Banana plug supported.
Banana is fully supported. There are 1 review from novice said this amp is not supported banana. That is wrong. You have to remove the plug cover to insert banana plug in.Amp is very clear and powerful because of digital amp. Very well build quality.Mine is model PX8.

Watch those watts, and where to find them.
A well built power amp, clean sound with a very nice assortment of DSP features. This original review statement has been found to be false:*However, the watts are not as advertised. In a head to head competition the PX3 exceeded output of my 20 year old 200 watt RMS into 8 ohms, 300 into 4 ohm studio amp, but just barely. Double the watts when purchasing to get what you would expect.*UPDATE: The only thing I could find wrong with this amp was the brief instructions manual. The advanced DSP processor settings can help you find those missing watts. It also has an equalizer and many other functions not contained in the manual that comes with the amp.In the "Wizard" under Gain it gives you a choice of between 4-32 db boost. The higher the gain, the greater the output. I did not notice any distortion by boosting the gain to by 32 db. But the amp easily delivered the rated watts RMS.The equalizer is under the "Tuning" menu. Press the MENU button, rotate the menu knob until it highlights ADVANCED, press the rotating knob to select that, it then brings up a screen that lets you choose between BASIC and ADVANCED; select ADVANCED, depress the knob. You are now in ADVANCED mode, where many more options are available. Now scroll down by rotating the menus knob to EQUALIZER and press the knob/button.You can avoid having to do the same procedure for each A then B channel by inserting a small memory size USB stick into the front USB slot, and then saving a profile. This allows you to save quite a few, and then you just have to select them and select one from the PROFILES list.

Good amp, terrible setup and connectors, no 12v trigger, terrible manual
The amp itself is good but man, unless you have set this up once before, it takes a while to set up with the included manual missing IMPORTANT info. Had to download the real one. And, then the connectors. The inputs (XLR) are fine. But the output though? What the h*ll. It has three ways1) bare wire - can't use since the hole is so small, I could not get a 12 gauge stranded through it2) Y (spade) connector. Again, hole so tiny, could not buy one. The (WRONGLY) documented size is far too big and I spend $40 dollars ordering various kinds. Again, hole so small, nothing would fit3) Speakon connector. So, I ordered a set and it worked fine for a bit and now one of them is stuck. Don't know what to doBanana plugs NOT supported. Terrible design. Now comes the SW setup. By default everything is turned down sooo low, it looked like it was not working at all even at full volume. Two hours later, searching the internet, I found the input gain setting (which was only shown in the downloaded manual). Manual (both included and downloaded) is terrible, btw.I've owned so many Yamaha products and I have never seen something this bad.

So far so good, I was under the impression it had parametric EQ settings but that doesn't seem to be the case. Good power and runs cool

Dead on arrival
Initially powered on. Sent signal. Amp powered off. Display won’t illuminate. Test at power cord: getting proper voltage. Amp failed within seconds. Disappointing.
