The BRBHOM set of two portable French press travel mugs is perfect for couples who enjoy fresh coffee or tea on the go. If, however, you want to get BRBHOM brand, get their "i Cafilas stainless steel travel mug" instead. For the price, this is not a bad purchase assuming you have zero problems with food grade plastic. Though it is "fine" to use hot water, I am still very wary of mixing hot liquids with plastic. Plastic also means it can only do so much to keep your liquid hot or cold so don't expect much there. The day plastic keeps things hot/cold as well as steel is the day we master efficient fusion technology and can easily do interstellar travel. Thus, the day any plastic traveler's mug gets 4 out of 5 on Amazon or elsewhere is not likely. Everything is plastic so when you use hot water, you will feel the heat seep through but it isn't too strong and they have a plastic sleeve as it shows in the picture which mitigates what you feel. The only thing that stands out is that BRBHOM included a brush for cleaning. It is plastic and one can easily see it is cheap (but competent enough: should last years if you aren't too rough with using it) but the addition of is a nice thought and I give major props for that.

While I do not doubt that there are better Portable French Press Mugs out there, the "bang for your buck" you get for this set may be the best value on Amazon. The mugs themselves are exceedingly simple to use and produce a lovely smooth coffee. When I opened mine (I used the black one and gave the red to a friend), I was pleasantly surprised to see that they come with a cleaning brush to help reach the bottom of the mug when disassembled. This cleaning brush is kind of flimsy, but it was free, and it does the job in only a minute or two. The mug comes apart very easy and is very easy to clean. Every now and again I will find a coffee ground that is a bit too big stuck between the filter and the plastic bottom (still outside of the drinking area) but a quick finger flick, and it comes out, and I can go about my merry way. So long as I fill the mug no higher than the "MAX" line on the inside, there has been no ground in my coffee which was my biggest fear with buying a cheap product. I also do not drink super hot coffee and only use the hot water from the tap to make my coffee, but I have had no issues with the structural integrity of the plastic after using it every day since I received it. I carry this mug every day in my backpack on the train with a million and six other things and have not once found a single drop of coffee outside of the cup. I have also dropped it two or three times from waist high or desk height with no cracking or breaking. Fortunately, my daughter has yet to use it like a baseball, but I am expecting that any day now.

We bought our portable french press coffee and tea mugs for an 11 day cruise and subsequent land vacation. They easily fit into our suitcases and as long as we had hot water available, we were able to have a great cup of coffee or tea. At first, we thought the plastic construction was less than adequate but even during travel they held up well and are ready for our next trip. They are great for a single cup of coffee or tea when you don't want to make a full pot. The only problem we had was that the one cleaning sponge, that came sealed in plastic, looked like it had already been used and we had to discard it.

Such a useless product if you buy it for keeping drink hot. I sent it with my husband for coffee. It cooled in 15 min. If you want to use it for water. It is ok.
