Oxo Lamb Stock Cubes x 12 71g

This product is not available in the US as far as I can tell. This product comes from the US so allow about a month for delivery. It is worth the wail! The cubes are an intense lamb taste and make a wonderful lamb concentrate for sauces, gravy and demi glaze. Order several boxes at a time to allow having enough on hand. If other Oxo cubes are available I will order them immediately.

I realized that this Spring, Australian Lamb would be appearing and wanted to try to duplicate my mother's Scottish Broth. I have fond memories of her Scottish Broth as a comfort food, but unfortunately she did not leave a written recipe. With the help of authentic recipes online, and my own memory (she used rutabagas, not purple top turnips or parsnips) I crafted a recipe to attempted to reconstruct this dish. I knew she used a large can of chicken broth, but having used bases and cubes successfully, I researched Lamb bases and cubes and saw the fabulous ratings OXO Lam Cubs received. I live in New York and was astonished at how quickly the Royal Mail sent this item in a secure little box with British stamps on it. I went to their website and learned that you can simply pop the cubes by using the flat side of a knife or the bowl of a soup spoon to powder the cubes before opening the bags. Well, I made my recipe yesterday and thanks to the help of these cubes I succeeded in duplicate the flavor my mother's Scottish Broth had. I have sent for more cubes already, and on learning that there would be now more Australian Lamb Shanks coming had grabbed a second package and cubed and blanched some more "neeps" (rutabaga) and froze them. I will be enjoying this seasonal favorite in July, and getting more practice at this recipe. I have been absolutely delighted by this product!

Had a misunderstanding with vendor about expiration date. I was wrong and apologize for previous review. OXO lamb cubes add wonderful flavor to stock I make for braised lamb shanks.

I liked the flavourof the cubes.

I use these to help boost favor in lamb dishes like shepherd's pie and scotch broth, and lamb stock cubes are impossible to find in this country. When I traveled regularly to the UK, I used to just drop into a supermarket or the food hall of a department store to pick up a few packages. (Got some interesting reactions from customs officers that occasionally spot checked!) Since I no longer travel to the UK regularly, I am so glad I found these, as some family favorites have regained their old old flavor, thanks to my secret ingredient. These are the real thing, and while the price is vastly expensive compared the the usual UK supermarket price, its a lot cheaper than getting on a plane. They came within the promised time frame -- I'm happy.

I LOVE this stock. I love lamb and many of the recipes I use call for using beef stock. I think they do that because lamb stock isn't readily available at most grocery stores. I have started substituting these for beef stock in those recipes and it gives for a more flavorful true lamb taste. Buy a bunch so you can save on shipping cost.

Please get lamb oxo in again i miss them the were really good the real taste of lamb
