A low cost, effective solution. It has a retaining clip which ensures a good fit. Can be reversed on the lens to save space. Bought another for a different lens. Quality is excellent.

This item is well engineered to fit the bayonet mount of the Canon RF 16mm f/2.8 lens perfectly, and it is reversible. The matt interior finish gives reasonable resistance to flare due to interior reflection. Like the original Canon branded item it is a petal design, of similar dimensions and material. At 16.6g it is however significantly lighter than the 38g of the original, and it does appear much thinner; I was easily able to flex it between my thumb and little finger. It would certainly fend off scrapes and the glancing blows it might get when mounted to a camera swinging from a strap, but how well it would withstand a drop is an unknown. In terms of value, it is excellent. Canon are currently listing the OEM item for £28.50, but it is out of stock. It's being sold on Amazon for an eye-watering £38, which I assume is due to its current scarcity. This lens hood will also fit the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8. Flare resistance will obviously be reduced, but it will offer a certain degree of protection against scrapes and bumps.

It’s a lens hood that fits perfectly on a RF 16mm lens. At a third of the cost of a oem manufactures version.

Great piece of kit

This lens hood for the Canon RF 35mm lens is the only one (from Canon or third parties) that I am aware of that provides some physical and bright light protection for the lens. The JJC has a clever adapter (and removal tool) which then allows a conventional shaped hood to be used. Very impressed with the design, quality and reasonable cost. I can also recommend the JJC lens hood for the Canon RF 85mm lens.

The lens cover fitted snuggly and included a filter adjustment window.

The hood is well made and fits perfectly. As for it ever making a difference? I don't think it will.

Erfüllt seinen Zweck und passt. Hat halt die Haptik eines Plastik-Zahnputzbechers und die Ästhetik einer Gummimuffe … 😉

JJC ha escogitato una una soluzione fantastica per il paraluce. Sono bastati una piccola guarnizione protettiva ed un anello di aggancio del paraluce per creare una soluzione alternativa al prodotto originale Canon che oltre ad essere economicamente fuori mercato è anche una soluzione molto poco funzionale e pratica. Alla metà del prezzo si ha un classico paraluce, funzionale e protettivo per il nostro obiettivo. In confezione troviamo il paraluce, l’anello ad incastro, la piccola guarnizione che serve da isolante tra la plastica dell’obiettivo e l’anello ad incastro ed infine una “pinzetta divaricatrice” per rendere agevole e sicura la rimozione dell’anello dall’obiettivo. Ho aspettato qualche uscita per testare se fosse anche stabile e lo è. Un grazie sentito alla JJC.
