Will this adhesive damage automotive paint surfaces?

Cyanoacrylate adhesives like Super Glue will adhere to the surface of the paint and not “melt into” the finish. Beware though because all automotive paint surfaces are not alike. Modern paints are catalyzed acrylic urethane. Older auto finishes can be straight enamel or lacquer. Acetone and any chemical paint cleaner that contains petroleum distillates should get it clean without damaging the paint. Acetone can, however; remove paint from those older finishes. Do a test In a not-visible area first. Sometimes warm water with soap will dislodge the adhesive so try that first. Remember Murphy’s law states that Superglue sticks best to things you don’t want it to, like your fingers. Good luck!

Going to use to glue rubber foot pockets to carbon fiber scuba fins, is this glue waterproof?

I have used it to repair the float in my toilet bowl (which is under water) and it's held up pretty well, so far.

SUPER EXPENSIVE, BUT...

This adhesive is super expensive, but it really works well, especially on plastic. Most super glues do not work on plastic. This one does. I use it mainly for plastic interior car part. DO NOT leave this container open for any amount of time without replacing the cap tightly. It will harden quickly and you have a solid little bottle of useless, expensive glue.

This product really works well!

The product worked fine. Just remember you have about two minutes tops before the glue sets permanently. I used it to re-attach rubber molding on my car.
