Excellent product, saved my expensive boots and made them weatherproof again
I had an expensive pair of winter boots with horrible PU faux leather coating which after only three wears had started to peel off making them look awful and not weatherproof at all, unfortunately I still really liked the original look of them and grudged that if paid a lot for what I thought were good boots and thought I might be able to rescue them. I stripped the PU coating off with my dremel and a semi round stone attachment, I found sanding ones too abrasive. I used a brush to apply first and second layer then allowed it to dry overnight. Once dry I wanted some leather texture so next layer I used a brush to put blobs on then flat make up sponge to dab it evenly. Once dry I did a very light sand with 800 grit wet and dry(used dry) followed by application of kiwi express black cream polish. My boots now look fantastic and if I saw them in a shop I would totally buy them, most importantly they are now weatherproof as they should have been. I'm really pleased with the results, would definitely recommend this product but I will stress you do have to be patient to get the results. I have attached photos once I stripped the coating and when I finished recoat and polish.

Fairly easy to apply and reasonably successful
Despite telling her off each time, our cat hasn't twigged that we don't want our leather sofa clawed to bits. We were on the verge of getting rid of it (the sofa, not Puss), until I had a look at products which claim to be able to repair cat scratch and other similar damage and thought this would be worth a try. As you can see from my "before" photo, there were lots of claw-holes, where the underlying substrate had been pulled through. Initially, I trimmed these as best I could, using nail scissors. I then used a Q-tip to dab small amounts of the filler into each hole. left it for an hour or so and then, after a gentle sanding to smooth out any lumpy bits, I polished it all up with the Scratch Doctor Dye Restorer. The results? Well not perfect, but a lot better than it was and I reckon we'll keep this extremely comfortable leather sofa for a bit longer now.

Use very sparingly as a crack filler before colouring and the applying leather care balm
Used Autoglym leather cleaner first and later neutralised with water. Then a thin metal spatula (like that used for opening mobile phone cases) to spread filler sparingly across the grain of crack in a leather car seat. Cleared off as much as possible while carefully making sure there was enough of the filler left in the crack to build it up. Wait for hardening, then buff. Repeat as necessary using very thin layers. Keep the filler as close to the area as possible with as little spreading beyond the cracked area as possible. Use Furniture Clinic recolouring balm and spatula to apply colour quite thickly, then use a white cotton cloth to spread the recolouring gel across a wider area. Work on one specific area at a time. Wait a few minutes before buffing with a microfibre cloth. Leave for a couple of hours and reapply if necessary. Areas where the filler has been used may show a slight grey discolouration (from black) even after a couple of treatments. Wait about ten minutes after colour re-application, buff and then leave for a few hours. Use a clean microfibre cloth to buff and make sure no colour is coming off. Then apply leather care balm area by area using a microfibre cloth. This will also lift some of the colour onto the cloth, buff again after a few minutes and check for colour fastness. It might be sensible to not wear white clothes till the surface becomes colourfast. Overall, the combination of Autoglym leather cleaner, Scratch Doctor filler, Furniture Clinic recolouring balm and Autoglym Leather care balm worked well on black leather car seats. Very good at filling in nicks and minor scuffs. For any tears, use Bostick rubberised superglue to 're-lay' before applying filler and other treatments. Plenty of videos on the internet to guide on more complicated repairs. The best finish can only be achieved by fine (eg 1200 grit) sanding, rigorous time-consuming preparation and spraying the leather to restore the original. This is something of a specialist art. While this combination of products is quite expensive (and others were not tried) the results are more than acceptable on 18 year old black grained leather seats.

Messy wasteful difficult to use but washes off easily
Has any consideration been given to providing packaging that is less messy to use? The filler is of runny consistency and you find this out on removing the cardboard disc after unscrewing the top of the metal container. A considerable amount of the content is stuck to the underside of the cardboard disc and it would be a very messy job to put the cardboard disc back over the in contents.. Sadly the content that is on the underside of the disc needs to be used immediately. For small jobs this is very very wasteful. The content of the brown tin toned well with my dark brown leather dining room suite The tin of black leather filler was for a car seat and again toned in well. With this second tin I tried without success to only lift part of the cardboard disc but the entire disc lifted again. This product, for which we only needed to use small amounts, would be much improved if the cover could be removed just to reveal a small section. A tab on the cover to keep the fingers clean would be helpful. It was great that the brown and black filler on my fingers washed off easily but leads to concerns about the durability of the product.

Game changer!!
Considering it was going to cost me £175 to get these shoes repaired and they don’t even cost that much new, I knew I had to try myself... This stuff is a game changer! The first image is the damage I’d done and the second is after applying the filler (the third is how it looks now I’ve added the paint as well - I’m beyond impressed!!). It’s so easy to use and mega value for money - the pot is tiny and I was surprised when it arrived thinking how expensive it was for that much, but a little goes a long way - I could probably do a whole sofa with this pot, hahaha! It takes a few coats and you have to be patient but the drying process is fast and it leaves the product feeling so smooth - no ridges or gaps, as good as new surface - I’d thoroughly recommend!!

Not suitable for high traffic
Unfortunately I have to rate this at two stars. The positives are that the filler is easy to apply with a workable viscosity which aids in getting a smooth finish. Also the colour is consistent. However for me the most important quality is missing which is the robustness of the filler itself when dried which is severely lacking. I have experience performing leather repairs and thought I'd try this filler but I cannot recommend it due to its low adhesion and all round poor strength. I had build up several layers over days to ensure sufficient drying and to get a perfect finish. The finish WAS good to the eye but not practical in terms of useability. I found the filler quickly started to come away and within a day all that was left was the original leather. Unfortunately I have tried a few different attempts with ensuring the leather was cleaned, dry and sanded back to have a nice surface to grab too but no joy. If you require a filler which will not be touched, strained, etc then this could be suitable, however if you require the repair to be under any type of duress then avoid this filler.

Buon prodotto
