This is the perfect kettle for me
This is the perfect kettle for me. It holds about 4, 8 oz. cups of water. Heats up in less than three minutes. It does shut down after it heats up completely, which I love. But the water stays boiling hot for about 5 minutes after it turns off and reheats very quickly. The cord is about 20 inches long, good quality and thick. The plug is a three-prong. The base that the pot sits on is very light weight and seems flimsy at first, hard to lay flat on the counter. It's just because of the thick cord having been wrapped under the base, so it's curvy. After a couple rounds with the pot full, it lies completely flat even without the pot sitting on it. The only thing I could say to make the pot better is the red light on the pot to let you know that it is heating - but also to let you know that it has automatically shut off. The light is not very bright, only a slight difference in on / off color. I put the pot in several spots in my kitchen, thinking that it was a room lighting issue, but even in the darkest corner, the red light is very dim when on. This is not an issue with me, but may be for someone else. Other than that, I am very satisfied with this pot. Beautiful finish and easy to clean.

Excellent and Quick
We originally bought this tea kettle for our college student. It is attractive with its gooseneck for pouring and its stainless steel body. It automatically shuts off when the water has reaching a boiling point so no worries about accidentally leaving it on. I also like that when you pick it up to pour your tea, the bottom is completely cool so you can place it on any surface without fear of ruining a table, desk or other places you might set it down. It only takes a couple of minutes for the water to boil and makes 2 large size mugs of tea. I have also used it just for the boiling water feature. We liked it so much that when our college student returned to school after the holidays with his tea pot, we “gifted” ourselves with one as well! Works great!

Boils water in 5 minutes or less
I've been very pleased so far with this electric kettle. My favorite thing about it is that it will bring a full kettle of water to a boil in 4.5 to 5 minutes, which is twice as fast as my stove top Hario Buono v60 kettle comes to a boil. I originally purchased this kettle in anticipation of taking it with me when I travel because I'm a bit of a coffee snob and prefer to make my own pour overs as opposed to drinking middle of the road coffee when I'm on the road. (Yes, I travel with my kitchen aid burr grinder, v60 dripper, v60 filters, scale and now, this electric kettle). To my surprise and pleasure, it looks like I'll be using this kettle daily both at home and on the road. I read a couple of reviews on this product that stated that the electric cord was too short but the cord on my kettle is probably 2 feet long, which for me at least, is plenty to be able to plug it in and leave space around it. From a function perspective, it's dead simple to use. Simply push the lever down beneath the handle, then the light at the bottom of the kettle turns on. When the water reaches a boil, (you'll hear it as it gets closer and closer), the lever pops up and the light turns off. Then your ready to start your pour over. I recommend this product highly.

Good value. Failed at 3 year mark.
I only used this for the first time today. If durability looks good after some time, I'll return to give this 5 stars. Nice personal water boiler. Great size for office. The goose neck was important to me for pour over coffee. Also, I wanted an electric kettle where nothing contacts the water except for the steel. This met both requirements. It's light too, which you might argue makes it feel cheap, but it's another plus for me: easier on the arm for making pour over coffee. Very pleased, and seems well constructed. 3 cups of water fill it up to the max line inside. I've included a photo showing the inside of the kettle. Update 10/29/2018: Here we are two years since I purchased this kettle. It's still pretty much as good as new, working great. There is some slight tarnishing on the bottom on the inside, but I'd call it normal wear for something like this with a heating element. A co-worker bought the same kettle for his office based on my recommendation, and he seems happy with the purchase as well. Update 9/20/19: Bad news this morning. The metal underside of the lid apparently rusted at the two connection points where it attaches to the plastic top. It fell off and I don’t see any worthwhile way to repair. So, 3 years later and this kettle’s lifespan is over. For the price and amount of utility I got from it in 3 years, I’m satisfied. However, I’ve got to dock a star from my review for this flaw. Slightly more robust attachment of the inner lid probably would have let this kettle keep going for 2 or 3 more years.

Works well so far! I use it with my v60 and kalita at my office.
I enjoy a good cup of coffee. The gold standard in the coffee world for brewing is the v60. However you do need some special equipment before you can have good results. A gooseneck kettle is one of a few critcal items you must have. I currently have the hario gooseneck kettle at home and this one at my office. It boils water quickly (2 min tops) and gives good control of the flow of water. The inside is completely stainless steel and I have not noticed any off-taste from the water. It has some nice features such as the auto shut off and the cord wrap on bottom. The cord wraps up into the bottom piece and is handy if you plan to travel with it or put it up in storage. Overall this is a good kettle and gets the job done.

Fantastic little electric kettle
I had a cheap plastic electric kettle for over 10 years and used it frequently until it died just before a cold front. Commence the rush to find a replacement, but to my dismay, most were huge, had more features than the Space Shuttle, or had poor reviews. Then, I stumbled upon this kettle snuggled away on a review site and decided to give this unassuming little water kettle a try. Since Day One, I have been using the heck out of this kettle. It is not an ultra-fast heater, but it gives me time to gather my teapot and choose my tea for the day. It reaches a rolling boil and stays there a few seconds before the unit shuts off, perfect for an instant-ramen craving. There is no temperature indicator, but an infrared temperature gun solves that problem: open lid, take water temp, done. I can have water at whatever temperature I want without worrying about a fancy button malfunctioning. The spout makes pouring super easy for those with limited hand stability and patience. The electric cord can be fully wrapped, fully retracted, or anywhere in between to maximize safety and counter space. The unit is neither overly wide nor overly tall, allowing it to fit almost anywhere. It also has an aesthetically simple yet pleasing design. The best part is that this is a sensibly sized unit; it's perfect for a small teapot, two standard sized mugs, or a heaping bowl of instant-ramen. The exterior does get hot as it is not insulated so this unit would have to be kept away from small children, inquisitive pets, or adults with a questionable survival instinct. This doesn't bother us as the dog is not a counter-surfer and the two adults in the home generally respect items that generate heat. All in all, I am quite pleased with my purchase. If it lasts at least five years, I will be thrilled. Fingers crossed!

Great product, best i ever purchased !
Great product - it is smal, so make sure read amount of liquid, love the way it feels in hand, very light, easy to lift, and pours perfect, got item because all the inside is stainless steal and no plastic heating up with water, there is a cord wrap area under base to have cord long or short as needed, heats very fast and love how its so quiet while heating, i have had other manufacturers products in past that were very loud when heating water, water heats at perfect temperature for tea and coffee, also there is not alot of steam escape from lid when heating which is wonderful if its under a raised cabinet. Over all i would give it a 10 star at this time, have had for a month and use it every day once or twice.

This is a very good value for the money.
The Zell electric kettle is well-finished, reasonably sturdy, hasn't discolored or dented in over one week of daily use, boils water within 5 minutes, and dispenses water in a thin, steady stream. The cord in the base is heavy-duty and can be adjusted for length to reduce clutter. The only two things I would ding it for are minor: 1) The pop-up lid doesn't always pop up. I have to use more aggressive thumb action than should be necessary. 2) The indicator light is only on the side shown in the photo. If you have the spout pointing right, as you would if you are a lefty, there's no light. On the other hand, the little On/Off lever below the handle automatically pops up to shut off the kettle when the water reaches a boil, and that's visible no matter which way you have the handle pointed, so the light is redundant anyway. In short, I'm glad I bought it; I never realized before how pleasant something as simple as a pour-over for coffee could be.
