Amazing internet free watch with calling and tracking!
I rarely write reviews but these watches are excellent and after the recent clamp down on social media it made me think how lucky these watches existed! My daughters hs e had them 1.5yrs, they can call numbers I put in and video call me/hubby. Thru can only send family or imoo users added to their phone for voice messages. They have accurate real time tracking. All in all a great watch with no internet! I wish they did a phone like this as they’re going to high school soon so will need to investigate internet free phones. Highly recommend.

Does exactly what it says
Update: (as humans we tend to be quick to complain but quick to forget to give accolades when deserved so here goes) We have had this watch for almost a year now and I want to write an update because this watch deserves it. Had issues a few months ago when old messages were deleting once the watch turned off. Customer service over WhatsApp was amazing. They were responsive but you have to be aware of time difference or it would seem they are slow to respond. Also before you reach out to customer service with any issues, try unbinding the watch, deleting the app and then upload app and bind watch (please note: this means everything on the watch gets deleted so you may want to save photos and messages on parent’s phone first) This was a swift fix for me recently. For people saying the tracking is inaccurate. I beg to differ. This watch was misplaced at a school event last term and unknown to us kindly picked up by someone who had sent an email to tell us that night. We were able to track the watch next morning to the door of the person. If you are unsure whether to go for this watch: don’t be. I highly recommend. I was looking for a pre-smart phone alternative for a pre-teen. I checked all the available options that were a lot cheaper but the reviews were not great. The imoo watch was more expensive but has delivered on every point. The people who bought when it first came out had quite critical reviews but they have stepped up their game in the last couple of years and the recent reviews were really good so I took the plunge and have not regretted it. It’s a good alternative if you are not ready to expose your preteen to smart phone and social media. There are 10 people you can add to their safe list who can call them but they can make outgoing calls to any number which gives them control. The tracker function works okay but may be a few meters off sometimes: voice and video calls are great - extremely clear. The giff gaff sim has worked for us. Battery life is about 3 days. It’s been a win win. The app is easy to download and use. The class mode function is great as phones are not allowed in class. Preteen would love a few more emojis and maybe more games but all in all, a great buy

Brilliant but needs a bit of improvement
I am completely against the idea of children having smartphones and it saddens me that we have reached a point in human evolution that we can't even walk along the street without looking at a screen. I think the problem with giving children smartphones is partly because that parents don't know what else to do—they want to keep an eye on their children and for them to be contactable which is perfectly reasonable but smartphones are everywhere. After quite lengthy research I ordered one of these for my 10yo. I didn't like the idea of a dumb phone for fear it might cause ridicule or bullying so this seemed kind of a cool alternative and it's proven to be a complete hit. We bought it with a GiffGaff sim which costs us £8 p/m but I'm sure I could drop to a lower tarrif and so far we've had zero problems. My son isn't a bit bothered that it isn't smartphone, his friends think it's cool, we are able to see where he is, and we're able to call each other. The sound quality is just as good as any phone, video calls are excellent and he doesn't have to carry a device around with him as it's on his wrist. What lets this watch down is the messaging side of things. There are two ways to send messages; by SMS or via the Imoo app, both of which work fine, except that messaging is largely one-way i.e. we can send messages to the watch but the watch can only reply with a voice message and only if it's through the Imoo app. To explain that a bit better, if I send an SMS to the watch it's received ok but my son cannot reply to it at all. If I send a message through the Imoo app, my son can reply with a short voice message. This hasn't really caused a major problem but it is a little bit inconvenient. A lack of keyboard is perhaps partly the reason for this but there is a keyboard on the watch for entering the wifi password. The app also allows two way sending of an animated emoji type thing as messages, basically a character that looks like a rabbit with various meanings, but the emojis available on the watch are different to the ones on the phone app. We couldn't see a reason for that until my son made the astute observation that he thought the emojis sent from the app are mostly commands e.g. it's dinner time, bedtime, drink etc and the emoji's on the watch sent to the phone are mostly responses to this which makes a lot of sense. The "class mode" function is great allowing the watch to be disabled, except the telling the time, during certain times of day e.g. at school or at night time (although the watch turns itself off during the night and comes on again early morning). Battery life is good, it lasts about 2 days with normal use but charges quickly. All in all we're very pleased with it and don't regret buying it one bit. It's just a shame the messaging side is a little bit unorthodox.

I would explore other products
I got this as a Christmas present for my daughter and have regretted it since, fraught with connection issues, I've had to completely factory reset it and set it up, not once but twice since initial set up. The watch displays brief and almost impossible to read error messages constantly. It only works on 2.5ghz wifi networks. Constantly drops the cellar connection and woe betide if you let the battery run out as it results in the aforementioned factory reset. The functionality is extremely basic, my daughter really wanted this for Christmas, but it turned into a damp squib, when it works it does the basics - but you can't rely on it and it isn't dependable, which is a crucial aspect of this type of product. I would suggest you avoid it and look at alternative brands. Update 12th Feb 2025 The watch eventually gave up the ghost, it started flashing and disconnected from everything, couldn't receive messages, send messages, or connect to the wifi. I too contacted support and got the generic response, and troubleshooting steps - which are mostly incorrect (I searched for other users troubleshooting steps) - nothing worked, I couldn't even factory reset the watch. I implore anyone considering this product to learn from mine & others reviewers issues and not buy it, it will eventually cause you no end of frustration, its an awful, awful product,

Like a Dumb phone with accurate tracking and the ability to become just a watch during school hours
Good battery lasts more than 2 days Accurate tracking Step count Video calling through app or with another imoo watch (we don't know anyone else with another imoo watch so can't use this feature) Anyone can install imoo app on their phone but I give permission as to if they can connect with my child Can use own SIM. We went with Lebara (uses Vodafone network) for £5 a month. Incredibly accurate location (so far) Can call/receive calls which you can set to known numbers only We are genuinely delighted. It was the perfect solution for tracking/being able to track our children on way to and from school without getting a phone which they are not allowed in school anyway Can switch it to school mode so kids can't see anything, but the time, during set school hours No games or social media *************** Update after a few weeks of use: we discovered that the phone was always dropping from the network and we had to keep switching it on an off to reconnect. A bit of googling and we discovered we had to change the APN settings via the app. We did this and no more issues. The SIM provider will have the info on their website for us it was this: https://www.lebara.co.uk/en/help/phone-devices/iphone.html?srsltid=AfmBOopEYyuDU0GrvBqWyzMQ1cWmdBnonSkjRQddSrr0IHqnMp22n-kM We also found once we did this the battery seemed to last longer. I think it's at least 3 days if not 4 or 5 Location accuracy is also amazing and I've never had any issues calling or messaging. I think we're more pleased than our kids with this The only downside is that I can't work out if there's a way to text back family members that don't have the app. That would be a nice feature. All in all it's a great watch and exactly what we were looking for

Happy with product and eady
I set this up for my son tonight using the lebara sim card amazon highlighted that others buying the watch bought. It was really easy to set up. I was surprised how user friendly it was. Make sure the sim card tray is fully pushed in as i didn't at first. Also the lebara sim didn't have a pin code to remove.. the guide for the watch said to put it in your phone to remove the pin. I did put it in my phone to register the sim and attach my card details for top ups but didn't need to sort the pin before i put it in the watch. Once it was in you just scan a qr code in the booklet to bind it to your phone and you down load the imoo ap and control The phone settings, track child add approved phone no’s etc from there. Very straightforward!! So far at least! Tracking and calls tested and all appear working fine!

Unreliable connectivity & GPS tracking and fiddly, non-intuitive app
This is a very unreliable product of poor quality for the price paid. I would not recommend it. The main issues are: - GPS tracking fails all too often. It won't update real-time sometimes not for hours. This makes tracking my child on way home from school impossible. - Time zone keeps changing on an ad hoc basis and it is very fidgety to have to reset again. - There are mobile data connection issues, even when our phones are in the same area and on the same network! - The English in the notifications is poor and makes it seem this is a watch designed by amateurs. Same with the UX design of the app - it is not intuitive and therefore difficult to navigate. - The home wifi network gets lost from the settings and we need to connect it again. - It took a while to manage to link the parent phone to the watch... again very fiddly - but at least that gets done only once. On the plus side it does make and receive calls and the imoo support people eventually get back with answers to queries (give or take a day or two). The voice chat function on the app works well if connected to a network. Battery lasts a day at most - but that was expected. Good fit for a 10yo slender wrists.

Contento e soddiafatto.

Does not work with US carriers
Seems like a great product if they can only get it to work in the US. Spent several days working with imoo customer service, which is only available through emailing. Tried both T-mobile and AT&T sim cards as recommended and even spent time with both their customer service departments. Unfortunately could not get it to work with either carrier.

Fantastic safety watch for kid. Incredibly Accurate GPS & Top-Notch
I bought the imoo Z1 watch for my child, and it has easily been one of the best purchases I’ve made for our family’s peace of mind. If you are looking for a reliable device to keep your kids safe and stay connected, this is it. What I Love About It: Ultimate Safety & Tracking: The core safety features on this watch are brilliant. Being able to check in via video call or voice message at any time is amazing. Plus, the feature that blocks stranger calls means only pre-approved family contacts can reach my kid. Incredibly Accurate GPS: The real-time location tracking is phenomenal. Whether they are at school, playing in the neighborhood, or in a crowded shopping mall, the GPS pinpoints their exact location without any major radius errors or lagging. It is spot-on and highly dependable. Top-Notch Customer Service: I had a quick question regarding the SIM card setup, and the customer support team was absolutely stellar. They responded almost instantly, were incredibly helpful, and walked me through everything seamlessly. Exceptional service is rare these days, but they nailed it. The Verdict: The watch is rugged, the battery life holds up great, and the peace of mind it provides is priceless. Combined with their top-tier customer service, the imoo Z1 is worth every single penny. Highly recommended!

Sehr gute Uhr - klare Empfehlung
