I'd love to live in a world where nose and ear hair were non issues (both my own and other people's), but alas it must be dealt with. I've tried various pulling, trimming, zapping, whatever means to get the job done, and these are the only way I use now. They, coupled with the right wax (melted not too hot in microwave -- 3 min works for me) really are an essential tool, and the pain is nominal especially once you get the hang of it (which means, once inserted, letting the wax cool until it gets hard and then really tugging in one fast motion), it's actually a fast and efficient cleaning process that I look forward to. The "tingling" sensation afterwards is just a reminder that it needed doing and worked. So I'm okay with it. Job done. Skin recovers in less than an hour (no more "tingling"), I've found. Pro Tip: if you have a mustache or sideburns near your ears, cover them with petroleum jelly before you use these. I once had poor aim and hit my mustache on the way to my nose and the result was very discouraging (the wax really doesn't let go of hair easily so I had to cut my mustache with hair trimmers to get the stuff out).

I used these last night for the first time, and they are the best! It is one of the best orders I have ever placed on Amazon. One point of constructive criticism, I'm not too fond of plastic anything and especially one-use disposable plastic items. It would be great to see these in stainless steel or something similar.

These do not look as nice as the pictures would make you think, least not the set I got. They are quite rough and not exactly flat or pretty. But for the price, they still have many uses. I picked these up for mixing epoxy resin and for stirring paint. For those uses, they are good for the price. Deal for the price, as long as you are not expecting "nice", would recommend.
