Precise Scribing Guides Scribing guides on 1/8" centers lay down marks perfectly to the edge of your stock. Angles Made Easy Angles graduated in 5° increments on 3-1/2" model and 1° increments on the 6" model. Both include 22-1/2° and 67-1/2° as well. Guide Hole Built In A guide hole in the blade is 3/8" from the base and sized to guide a self-centering drill bit. Measureless Marking Cut outs on the 6-inch model give you measureless marking of 1/2", 3/4" and 1". Set-Up Block Functionality The 1/4" base comes in handy as a set-up block. Blade is 1/8" and base is 3/4" wide. Set Bevel Rips to 45° The DelVe square allows you to quickly set bevel rips to 45° then right back to square. Review: I purchased on a huge price discount - I originally purchased the blue squares because some YouTube videos said they were awesome. The 4” square was square but the larger square was not. Still, the two of them were cheaper than the woodpecker 4”. This woodpecker I lucked out and only paid about $80. What I noticed is that not squares are similar but the wood pecker is a little heavier due to the “blade” being twice as thick. I really appreciate this as it can help prevent against accidental damage and I liked a thicker blade for scribing. So, should you go cheaper? Well, you may or may not get square pieces. Woodpecker isn’t cheap, is higher quality, and will be square. Woodpecker just feels better to me. It all depends on how many returns you’re willing to make to get square pieces with the cheaper brands. Even if they’re square they’ll be lesser quality. But cheap can work too. So, obviously your call. With the sale that this one had, I decided to purchase and I regret not just having purchased the 4” woodpecker too. Of note, I find that I was the 4” tool about 80% more than the larger square. The larger square is a luxury but I honestly would be just fine 95% of the time with my 4”. So keep that in mind when buying. Too small isn’t usually an issue but too big can get in the way of things. I would highly recommend a 4” square first. Review: Sweet - It really high-quality tool. It’s little expensive, but I feel it’s well worth the money.
