These masks have elastics that go over the top of the head and the second around the back of the head, like previous N95 masks. It's true that the elastic is soft and stretchy, but if you tighten the elastics sufficiently, they have a tight fit. I'm a small woman but I have a fairly broad face, and these fit well. I don't think they'd fit a woman with a small, narrow face. They fit my husband, but do not fit my son, who has a big head and broad face - for him, when they are fully unfolded, they would not cover his chin without pulling down and off his nose.

These N95 masks do not have a chemical odor.

Does the nose piece have padding?

It does not have padding. The metal piece in the nose is of a higher grade than I’ve found in most other masks and holds its shape so it may not be as taxing as other masks.
