I Love This Product... A Must Have
I will never buy bottled water again... my new favorite thing is my new pur filter and my new glass sports bottle to drink my beautiful crystal clear filtered water in! My only complaint is to myself... "I should have bought this sooner" and to my self, I'd say back... "but I always recycled my plastic..." and to me, I'd remind myself that "the industrial process of recycling also creates harmful biproducts to the environment"... whew! And now that I think of it... imagine how many of those plastic isotopes get leached into the water contained within plastic? Yikes! We should have one of these things on every kitchen sink in the world! Also, it was super easy to attach, is pleasing to the eye, produces crystal clear perfectly tasteless water, is easy to switch from filter to non for doing dishes, and also has an indicator light! Brilliant! I will never buy bottled water again! And no need for a giant filter pitcher either... this seems to make all of those old hats a thing of the past!

Works until it leaks, and it will leak.
***UPDATE 8/22/23*** I’ve rethought my assessment of this and upgraded my rating to four stars from two. I’m still disappointed that the housing starts leaking every year or so and needs to be replaced, but even with this inconvenience and added cost the filters themselves are very good (and that’s the really important part) and overall offer good performance and value for all the “Pur” water you get. And despite its faults this is still worlds better than using a pitcher with a filter. ***UPDATE 12/5/20*** Now, not surprisingly, my last Pur Faucet Filter housing has started leaking after only about six months. As I mentioned previously, I’m trying a new faucet-mount system from ESOW that uses a metal housing and seems to have a comparable filter to the Pur filter. I will report back in six months or so with feedback on how that filter system is working in case other Pur customers are tired of leaking filters and are looking for a viable replacement. I would caution that a lot of other filter systems out there do not meaningfully filter out heavy metals (like lead) so read carefully when choosing another water filter. In any event, I’m happy to no longer be buying and supporting a product that is obviously purposely under built and designed to fail after a short period to increase sales. Shame on you Pur! ***UPDATE 7/21/20*** The last one of these I bought lasted lasted 6 months before it started leaking, and as I find this to be ridiculous and completely unacceptable I’m lowering my rating to one star and Pur is losing my business. Despite the great value the Pur filters represent for providing filtered water, their faucet mounts are a joke. Pur can’t seem to figure out how to make a simple delivery system that doesn’t leak, and this stupidity has been going on for many, many years so there’s just no excuse for this. This is not rocket science. It’s gotten frustrating enough that I’m now going to look for an alternative, and if I have to pay a little more for filters to not have to continually buy these shoddy faucet mounts I’m now ok with that. Right now I feel like an idiot constantly giving Pur more money for a product that I know will fail in six months or so. It’s sad really, because this seems so unnecessary. I don’t know who the product manager is who produces these things, but whoever they are they’re completely incompetent and are responsible for Pur now losing my business after more than 10 years of being a loyal customer. Nice job moron! When I find a better alternative I will certainly update here with that product so others have the opportunity to exit this absurd merry-go-round as well. ================================================================ I've been buying Pur water filters for many years now, so I've been through several iterations of their faucet-mount filters. Although they've refined and largely improved the design over the years, the one issue they haven't been able overcome is that the filter housings inevitably start to leak at some point and need to be replaced. In my experience, and under heavy daily use with our family of four, I get anywhere from one to three years out of it before it begins to leak. While it is somewhat annoying, and I wish they'd finally just come out with a metal version that lasts, given the low overall cost of the filtered water we get out of these I really can't complain too much. When I buy replacement filters in bulk here on Amazon, it costs us about $3 per month for all the filtered water we need for drinking, cooking, etc. What other products that are good in your life only cost $3 per month? So even adding in the cost of occasionally replacing the filter housing it's still a very economical source of filtered water, especially when I compare it to what I know my neighbors pay to have big jugs of water constantly delivered to their house. And seriously, who wants to deal with all those big and insanely heavy (and expensive) jugs? Anyway, despite the obvious flaw, overall I'm very happy with the quality of our Pur filtered water and the low cost of having peace of mind that my family is not ingesting harmful chemicals, heavy metals, etc. So I'll happily keep using my admittedly less-than-perfect Pur filter and would still highly recommend them to people interested in adding filtered water into their lives.

Electronic filter change light malfunctioned, now solved - happy PUR customer again
UPDATED REVIEW - 11/16/17: After being reminded of the two year PUR warranty, I was able to obtain answers (and solutions, thankfully) to my filter problem by calling the Customer Service number, 800-787-5463, listed on the warranty link found on the Amazon product page. The service rep was knowledgeable, attentive, and had my problem solved in a very short amount of time. I wish I had called sooner, and am a happy PUR customer again. I can honestly update my review to 5 stars. For those who have experienced similar electronic filter change light malfunctions, try this: Unscrew the cover, remove the filter, setting it aside. Towards the back of the filter unit, on one side (for the horizontal filter), will be a small rectangular "box" that should have a little tab sticking up. If it is depressed/flush with the box, use your finger, butter knife, etc., to pop up the tab. After this, depress the tab and hold for five seconds, release; repeat this process five more times. Reinsert the filter, and screw on the cover. Green light (or appropriate color) should now activate when filter is used. Easy peasy. **************************** I wish I could say that I'm as happy with this PUR water filter as I have been with my other PUR units, and I have owned several. It's been just under five months since I bought this PUR PFM400H housing unit. I usually average replacing the water filter itself (inside the unit) about every three months. Recently, one week after changing the water filter (which is only the second filter for this unit) the electronic filter change light malfunctioned, and now the light is red all of the time. I can manually make a note of the date of filter change, and replace it after about three months, but why even have the change light as part of the unit if it stops working so soon after purchase? It's possible I just got a "lemon" out of other perfectly workable units. All I know is that I'm really disappointed, because I've had much better experiences with PUR filters before.

Works as advertised
Works as advertised. A little on the bulky side so make sure your sink is large enough. When installed I noticed it caused too much back pressure in an aged kitchen sink valve assembly and there was a leak at the base of the faucet. It wasn’t the fault of this product (per se) but I’m mentioning it because it may happen to someone else. It’s a quick fix, but it may speed up a leak that was already starting.

Filter
I highly recommend this filter because the quality is wonderful and I don't need to leave home to buy water.

Will never purchase a PUR filter again! Low quality and poor customer service.
This is the fourth filter I have purchased from PUR in the past five years, and the fourth one to suddenly start leaking, correction, spraying water everywhere due to shoddy quality. I purchased the "chrome" model, mistakenly believing that it would be more durable because it was metal. I know, you must be laughing, because OF COURSE it is not metal, but plastic with chrome paint. Sigh. After six months of normal use, the seal around the cap that keeps the filter in failed. As a result, if I try to filter water, it sprays in multiple directions all over the kitchen. Not only am I out the $30 that I wasted on the filter body, but also am wondering what to do with the $50 worth of filter cartridges that I bought from Costco. UPDATE: After twenty minutes of talking to customer service, I was told that I have to pay to return their defective merchandise. After they "verify" that it is indeed leaking, only then will they send me a new unit. They said I should expect this to take up to a MONTH! If you read the rave reviews for this product, please remember that many, if not most of them, were likely paid for by the corporation manufacturing these miserable filters. If you don't want to end up throwing away money, you should purchase a filter from another company. UPDATE: I replied to the "support technician" who posted a comment to this review. As far as I can tell, the only reason they have a "social media support" department is to portray the image that this company actually cares about their customers. After two email exchanges with this person, the most she could offer me was telling me that they have received the defective unit that I had to pay to return. Big deal - I knew that already from tracking the package! Seriously, what is the point? It is still going to take a further two weeks for them to send me a new unit, apparently. So now I am out the money I paid to return their unit, as well as all the money I have to spend on bottled water until they finally send me a new one. What a total scam.

Best Water
I have lived in many cities with their water. I have never cared for the taste. Also, I don't particularly appreciate buying lots of bottled water even in big jugs. I have had PUR Faucet filters for many years now. The Cartridge lasts around 3 months (single-person household). Easy to install, and has the parts for almost any faucet. Cartridges are also easy to replace when the Red light starts flashing.

Great Product & I’VE FOUND THE SOLUTIONS!
I’ve been looking and researching water filters for a long time. A filter that would suit my needs by being compact, long-lasting, intuitive, easy-to-clean, not too expensive, not a hassle to set up / maintain and with the actual fact it could clean the water. I decided to get a faucet filter since water bottle filters were also a struggle. I have some good news below that could help you if you’re experiencing the same issues. PROS - Great quality materials for the construction of the product (Feels really nice too) - Water tastes amazing (in my opinion) - Attaches to faucet perfectly (plus, they provide multiple different attachments incase your faucet is different) - The filter has an LED to display roughly when the filter should be replaced (I’ve heard and seen many people say their LED light goes off after a while. I’ve noticed that the light returns when it changes color --- Green to Orange to Red) - Easy to clean (be mindful of rust or deterioration after an extended period of time. If maintained and taken care of, the quality can be kept. The last thing you want is a rusty old thing in the floating your sink) CONS - Filter Replacements can be quite expensive for every 3 months especially since I am trying to drink 1 Gallon of water a day. (FOR ME -- I'll keep the filter in for a bit longer than requested. It’s still going to be better than unfiltered water) - Takes time to get used to it if you haven’t used a faucet filter before. It’s bulky and if you have only 1 sink you might knock it here and there. (MY SOLUTION -- After some time you’ll get used to it. :)) - Leaks Leaks leaks. I experienced a ton of leaks in almost every way but after multiple days to weeks I was able to find a solution. (MY SOLUTION -- The Filter needs to be balanced and parallel to the ground. Since the filter can be heavy, the filter tilts to one side and causes the leaks (when attached to the sink faucet). So I pushed up the heavy side of the filter so it wouldn't tilt). After a couple months I will write an update on its durability and overall performance. For now the product is good and doing very well. UPDATE: I have taken a pause from using this faucet product. It has been removed from the sink and placed to the side.

It leaks everywhere.
Have installed as per manual. However it leaks everywhere no matter how I adjust the faucet.

This is a US product that does not fit to UK faucet
I bought a product sold in the UK for the UK without the right adapters for the UK. Customer service does not ship adapters outside the US and Canada so it is a disgrace that you buy a product in the UK that you can not use in the UK unless you can find the right adapter on your own, at you charge and risk. This is unacceptable. Customer service did not even give me the option to return the product. I spent around £70 for nothing.
