Is this a heat or cold perm?

It is a cold perm. It does not even have a plastic cap to trap heat during the perm process, but it works beautifully for me. I have been using it for years. I have extremely straight, dark brown, natural color hair, that is now salt and pepper. I wear a short style, so I perm my hair, then have it cut. I repeat the process every 3 months.

Bought at walmart for years! can get anymore. this packaging looks more old fashion than others. do you think the product is old?

does it stay in even after washing my hair?

I have been using these perms for over 20 years and they stay in very well. My hair is naturally very straight and I wear it in a fairly short curly style, so it stays perfectly until it grows out and I have it cut off. I have to do a new perm about every 3 months as it has all been cut off. Also, my hair has become more salt & pepper gray over the years and it still curls nicely with this. (I'm 75 years old and do my own perms.)
