what is the diameter of the holes? will a chickpea fit through? trying to mash cooked chickpeas for chickpea salads

Holes are small enough to mash chick peas. It works well fo any type of food except maybe petite peas.

Are the holes small enough for beans?

The holes are about the size of a frozen pea - I've mashed pinto beans with them. I've also mashed lentils but with less success due to the size.

Is the metal bar a solid piece that goes completely through the rubber handle?
