Is the black model a gloss or matte/satin finish?

This is a finished complete wall outlet,face plate include. The face plate is made of tempered glass,which is non-discoloring,easy cleaning.

Do I hook up just 3wires or do I have to hook up two short wires also for the live and null wires as in the picture of the back of the outlet?

Hello. There is 3 wires. A black live wire, white neutral wire and a ground wiire. There might be double the amount of wire if another outlet is being feed from it.

Do they come with a cover plate?

The VL-C5C2US-11 does not include a cover plate.and the plate made of tempered glass,resists deformation and fading.Easy maintenance and cleaning.
