I have done a lot of research to find a good ice pack for my right shoulder, which frequently hurts due to overuse. I liked the look of this one since it covers the area from neck to shoulder. Since first use I've been very pleased with the quality of it, how long it stays cold, and how it fits securely and stays in place exactly where I need it. *** Update after 5 months. Part of the plastic casing got a tear in it so the beads are starting to come out. The product is less than 6 months old, so I'm not sure if this is just a defect or something that others have experienced. Pretty disappointing since it really is a great shoulder ice pack.

My wife was hit by an automobile while in the crosswalk. Following her internal bleeding surgery and her pelvic and hip reconstruction surgeries I needed a good icepack/heatpack. I noticed that this icepack designed for a shoulder was also the perfect shape to provide cold/heat therapy for her lower back and hips simultaneously - so I tried it. It has been excellent not only for the shape that can cover hips and tailbone area or hips and lumbar area but also because it provides hat cold or warmth for the perfect amount of time - about 20 minutes. While some might think it better if the temperature lasted longer, in reality this is the recommended period for either hot or cold treatments. Since she falls asleep for much of the day, I do not have to worry about the cold or heat being applied for too long of a period. Completely satisfied with this product! Hope it's still available when I need another.

It works fine for maybe a few weeks and then the cheaply made seams in the plastic open up and the gel balls fall out everywhere. Best part is you won't even notice it until you start seeing little blue balls all over the place and then you have to spend an hour cleaning them all up. The product is 100% defective as this happens on EVERY one. I bought two and got one replaced by the manufacturer and they all fail the same way. Don't waste your money.

I use this for my frozen shoulder. It is large and hits my bicep, top pectoral, deltoid, teres major and minor, supraspinatus and infraspinatus msucles. I'm 6 ft. tall female and not muscular so it may not his them all for men. Normally would have to use at least 2 to hit those areas and they would slip and I would be constantly adjusting them. And even then it didn't hit them all. The balls inside do have a tendency to shift a bit so you have to push them back to even distribute the cooling - which is all I use it for, no heat. However, because they do move around I can manipulate them if I want more coldness on one area. The adjustable straps make it easy to get fairly good compression against the affected area. If using after shoulder surgery you may need help getting it on. I slip it on my arm first -not undoing the strap, then lift the body strap over my head and put my other arm through like a cross-body bag. Stays nice and cold for 20-30 mins. I highly recommend this if you need to hit the overall shoulder area.

I needed to cut back on the advil for my shoulder pain, and PT advised more regular icing. But icing a shoulder is inconvenient as one can't do much while holding ice with one hand onto the opposite shoulder. I had tried balancing flexible ice packs while just sitting at the desk and doing office work, but they always slid off. Skeptically bought this product, and honestly couldn't be more pleased. It is fully adjustable, so you can get it to fit with just the right amount of pressure. And it stays cold for a very long time. Best part is that it freezes ALL the painful areas of the shoulder. Normally, I would have just iced the front, but also have pain along the back shoulder blade and even down my arm. This ice pack addresses each area in one icing. It really has been fantastic! The only improvement would be that the elastic bands are pretty rigid and uncomfortable when directly against skin. So perhaps that could be a little better, but for now I just make sure to have a shirt or cloth covering those areas when wearing it.

Good idea, but wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for. I had shoulder surgery and needed something to cover a larger area. When frozen it’s too stiff to lay properly relaxed on your shoulder. About 10 mins in it becomes more flexible but after another 5-10 mins it’s no longer cold. If you only need it for short periods of time, it’s not terrible. I didn’t use this one as much as my smaller ones.

This ice pack fits the shoulder area perfectly. My husband has some spinal stenosis and this is helping. It shapes around the shoulder area perfectly and stays put so he can work or do other things when it is on. It would be nice if it had a section of ice that covered part of the neck area as spinal stenosis bothers him up into his neck but this is still so much better than a regular rectangular ice pack. This is absolutely the best when you have shoulder problems. It is easy to use and in just a quick minute in the microwave you have a nice hot pack. I’m going to buy another one to keep in the freezer. My only disappointment is I wish the hear would last longer than 15 min.
