Red Star Instant Quick Rise Dry Yeast, 3 ct

I’ve used Red Star dry yeast before, but most of the local supermarkets now carry only the other major brand of dry yeast. And, during the pandemic, all of the stores have been selling out of yeast regularly. So, I recently ordered two strips of Red Star Quick Rise Instant Yeast from this seller on Amazon, and used them to bake a couple of traditional family recipes of Italian and Slovak Easter breads, both of which contain large quantities of cheese, and do not always rise as hoped for. As I expected, this Red Star yeast worked great, and both breads rose just fine. One feature of Red Star dry yeasts that I’ve always appreciated is that the yeast does NOT stick to the packets, unlike that of the other major name brand. When I empty a packet of Red Star into a recipe, I know that I am getting the full measure of yeast, not 80% or 90%. If you have never used Red Star before, I suggest that you give it a try.

We love homemade pizza and this yeast does a pretty good job. It’s definitely active since after we add water and sugar to the glass it foams pretty fast. The pizza turns out great. It does what it’s supposed to. Great value and would purchase again.

Got much better rise out of my bread

I plan on getting more. Nothing like the smell of fresh baking bread throughout the house and a good yeast makes a good bread.

The first 2 batches did not rise but I think it was my fault as I was using different kinds of flour, however when buying a box bread it worked great.

I use the larger packages of this yeast for my everyday baking. These individual packages are perfect for baking away from my kitchen and in my sister's or mother's. Perfect for travel and individual use. No measuring needed to add to foods or make sponges. I recommend this brand of yeast and the packages.

Mostly we use it for making homemade pizza, although once we did make some French bread. In both cases the yeast did the job we expected it to do. Ultimately we are quite pleased with the product and will purchase it again.
